thanks!
actually I chose to not refine after profiling, bacause the results were instantly pleasing to my ears...before profiling I spent some time to phase align the two mics as best as I could.
I soundchecked before and after profiling with a vintage strat. -

problem solved!
it was a routing mistake in my RME Fireface mixer
thanks for chiming in

I did another test with the simplest setup possible, GTR -> KPA in -> KPA send -> amp -> mic -> KPA return
everything went fine
there must be a mistake with the setup going through my DAW.

Hi,
I tried some profiling today.
Signal chain:
Gtr -> KPA input -> KPA send -> clean amp -> 2mics into my audio Interface -> summing the two signals in Cubase -> mono out into KPA return -> KPA analog out to audio interfacepretty standard....
here is the resulting profile:
Have you ever experienced something like this?
All my levels were carefully set, no clipping involved.
Got the same results over and over again, even after restarting the KPA -
Look for Juanma Blanc´s Profiles and Tills cabs!
to start with....

I recommend a Rocktron All Access. This unit does all you ever want MIDI-wise.
I use mine for years controlling 7 MIDI devices at the same time - flawless!
-
ehem....and what was the name of the new rig again?
-
You need to press the factory rig button first
I did!
-
went through all my rigs again - either I missed it again or it´s really not there
-
+1
very well put! exactly how I feel about most higain sounds! -
What are those new amps - did not find any...
maybe they used some of those "funny" names again? -
This section as i understand it is for profile/rig exchanges between members its highly doubtful it was intended as a 'profiles for sale platform' I personally wish people would stop posting for sale profiles here . Maybe Christoph could add a For sale section to the forum for this kind of stuff.
you´re speaking out what I was thinking all the time.....vote for a "commercial profiles" section!

thanks for sharing!
for my ears there´s much too much muddy bass on the profiles. maybe your mic was too close to the speaker? placing it 1 or 2 inches further away should bring better results
-
Hey man,
love these profiles, many thanks for sharing them with us!
I wonder if it would be possible to make some more varied profiles of the JCM800? Maybe a couple of different amp settings as well as a couple of different mic positions. Also do you have the equipment to make DI profiles of these amps?
Either way, the current profiles Rock!
Cheers
Spence
thanks!
I will do some more profiling in the future. My priority this time was to get some Diezel Herbert profiles, that come as close as possible to my live sound, to use them for future recordings. Mission accomplished
The JCM800 will get more attention soon. This amp hasn´t been used for years. My bandmate used it in his early days and never got a decent sound out of it, as I remember. To my surprise it sounded really great for the short test profiles I did. I have to take more time to find the sweet spots of this amp.
I never did DI-profiles of real amps - what do I have to do?

Awesome job, i love them
Great!
thanks for the feedback! -
