Thanks!

Great job!
For those who don't have Excel or similar,
could this file be transfered to a pdf document?
Problem SOLVED!!! Thanks to all! It was the *individual* categories - somehow mine were all set on '+'
Great!
The sub-categories also have + and - symbols.
Some users couldn't see any threads because they hadn't clicked the + symbol on the start page.
That trick could fix it. The symbol then show - like it should.
The symbol is located to the left of both the "Public and Private forums" headlines.
Yes I think it very important to sort this out.
I'm sure some users end up with profiles that are not as good as they could have been.
Just because of how they refined the profile.
Armin posted a sequence for refining that should give good results. I tried putting the link here but it didn't work for some reason. Try searching the forum for a thread titled "Refine a profile"
Brian
Thanks, yes I have read that thread.
That's how Armin refines an Axe-fx profile.
Modelers probably behave very different compared to amps and demand different refine methods.
So that is one more way of doing refining.
It is not the refine method described in the kpa manual for amps.
Some more experimental investigation would be very informative.
Perhaps compare clips of 5 different refining methods, same amp setup of course.
- More than 5 profiles on each page. (perhaps 25 or 50)
- Option to download all profiles from one user at once.
- A link with additional profile information next to the profile.
Perhaps a link to that uploader where all his/hers profiles are explained in detail.
(photos, guitar and pickups used, mics used, amp settings, tubes, history about the amp, how it was profiled...)
Many users already provide this information on the forum which is great!
It is still difficult to find the threads in the forum after a while. A link would be very useful here.
Cheers!
The refine process is the last, but very important step to make the profile sound perfect.
Is there a uniform, fool proof way to do this refining?
Not all users have the optimal recording conditions to do a proper A/B comparison.
A detailed refine guide would be great.
There seem to be several different approaches on how to do the last refine process.
As I understand, the refining is accumulated, so more is affected the more you play.
Will different guitars and pickups give different results when refining?
Some get good results by playing open chords, like E or A.
Some get good results by playing chords and single notes all over the neck.
Some get good results by playing the riff that is to be recorded.
Some get poor results when refining/playing too much.
Some get poor results when only playing single notes.
I would like to know more than what is explained in the KPA manual:
"play your guitar for about 20 seconds. This is no time for a meaningful
solo - you need to play several chords, with attitude! "
"Be sure to strum especially hard so that the KPA has a chance to analyze
the transients."
Great if someone could do refine experiments and report the results.
Cheers!
Not sure where to post this.
Here is the link:

"It absolutely slays.
All the guitar parts on the new Accept and Testament albums have both
been done exclusively using the Kemper for guitar tracking and I've been
priveleged enough to be in Andy Sneap's studio whilst some of the
guitar tracking was being done. You honestly just cannot tell the
difference between the original tube amp/cab/mic setup and the profiled
version"
Thanks!
I guess more users are making Di profiles now.
Very important for those using a poweramp + cab.
Display More"The three profiles are as follows?
preamp
preamp+power amp no cab
Preamp power amp cabinet?"
Hello fellow Kempers!
Ok, so if I got this right, there are 3 types of profiling methods.
amp + mic/cab = best for PA/direct.
Preamp only (Di, from amp fx send) = best for poweramp + guitar cab.
Preamp + poweramp (Di, with loadbox) = best for ??
When should I use preamp + poweramp profiles?
Is preamp profiles best for a solid state poweramp (like SLA or Matrix) + guitar cab?
Cheers!
