I love the 19lbs. My back can't take the heavy stuff

The backup file is packed, and I'm not sure which program is used for that. I'm sure someone else will chime in here for that. However, I was suggesting that you use the Export and Choose to Export All Rigs. Those can be easily seen.

Just tried that , but can't open backup????
That option is only available when a USB stick is inserted.

This one just caught my eye too. I don't see any references to it yet on this forum, so not sure anyone has tried it:

Profiler, was that your Dumble profile I started with? It said "Tony McKenzie" on it ...
OK, based on other posts I see that you are indeed Tony McKenzie. Many thanks for your original Dumble profile. It's the source of my two favorite rigs.

+1
I could kill for a nice profile of this amp!
I've been tweaking a Dumble profile that is on the exchange and have a couple of rigs that I truly love using it. Try this one and see if you can tweak it some more to get close to the Vibroverb. It's already a pretty sweet tone.

If you have the option to try a few monitors out- do so.
Exactly

You might try backing up all the rigs and then putting that on your PC/Mac where you can see them better...

Have some of you guys noticed whether the refining phase gives different results with different guitars?
IOW, if you refined a profile with one guitar and then switched to a second guitar, did you feel that refining again betters the sound? This seems to be the case, since even changing the refining technique (different chords, positions etc.) appears to lead to different results. My guess is that people will tweak their amps for the tone they like, of which the particular guitar is integral. So when profiling, the tone would be tied to the characteristics of the guitar to some degree. In particular, I think the difference between single coils and humbuckers plays into this, with the resulting profile working better using the same type as the original. Just a guess though ...

someone @ Kemper stated that omitting the profiling section from the machine would not save enough to justify a different hardware incarnation. You can't save on software, and you'd just save one or two sockets and a handful of components.
I would see such an option at the end of the KPA's life cycle, when you've got the expected return on your investment and any newer idea becomes commercially profitable.Sure, but how many additional units might be sold - one for the studio and the other for live performances? I'm just guessing that there will be a market for it, even at the same price as the KPA. Call it the KPP - Kemper Profile Performer.

FCB 1010 with UNO chip works like a charm for me. If you have any questions do not hesitate to let me know!!
Thanks Markus! I probably won't get around to dealing with this for a while, as I have a number of things on my plate, and a business trip out of town for over a week. However, once I dive into it there's a good chance I'll take you up on your offer. -
Hey, you're the one who has to decide what works best for you. I was just offering a suggestion based on my limited experience. However, there's nothing to lose in trying different alternatives. Sometimes you get surprising results.

Welcome to the party!

I mentioned this on another thread, but will risk my reputation and throw it out again here. I tried a friend's Behringer B210D and think it's a great option when looking for something with a low price (easy to find new at $200). It's also very light, which really helps when you have a lousy back as I do.

Well, what about a pedalboard version of the KPA, designed strictly for live play? No profiling capability, but capable of playing existing rigs and built into a pedal board? Volume and Wah integrated with no additional setup. On/Off switching for all 4 stomps and all 4 effects. Master EQ and Master Volume to setup for the venue.

Thanks for the info. I just bought an FCB 1010 and an UNO chip. If that doesn't work well then perhaps I'll pickup one of these chips and try again.
