Fully grown men love happy endings.
Enjoy your KPA! -
Yes, the difference is only audible between the guitar and the first thing that amplifies /buffers/ the signal.
I also agree about the price..etc. Unfortunately this Elixir is not the cheapest cable, but it is definitely a keeper for me. My strat type guitar now has all the chime and quack that I was missing previously. I was actually thinking about changing pickups... :), but this is a cheaper solution. -
Hey!
Just a heads-up on low capacitance guitar cables. I have tried an Elixir cable, and wow, the difference in sound was really really HUGE. Wish I could post some samples..., maybe later. I'm an electrical engineer so I don't believe most of the "snakeoil" stuff associated with guitar tone, and this really was a big surprise for me (the extent). My other cable is a short Mogami 2524. The Elixir lifts a blanket off from my guitar sound. It adds treble, presence to the sound. Awesome for cleaner stuff. But one important thing is that it removes some of the boomy low end from the signal. So especially at home or in a "studio" it is a good idea to keep several brands at hand. I feel a Mogami 2524 type (higher capacitance) cable is better suited for hard rock and chugga-chugga metal... etc. But for lighter stuff, I highly recommend checking out a low cap. cable.

Maybe try a Diezel Herbert Profile by r_u_sirius.

+1 my thoughts exactly.

Glad you like it!
It is a really nice chimey clean tone. -
One of the best aspects of the KPA for me is that I do not feel that it has an "own" sound character. It all depends on what and how do I profile.
Of course it is a very valid statement that it is not 100%, but the difference is so minimal, and it is sometimes on the positive side.I've owned many other units, including the second version of the über black rack but sold them because of this very reason: I felt that most of the amplifiers have a similar underlying tone. Maybe it is an exaggeration, but sometimes I still feel that I can hear this when I listen to sound samples of that other unit. It is not bad, but it is noticeable, and not for my taste. Don't forget tone is subjective. I like the KPA better.
But to quote the classics:
"IMHO, YMMV" -

+1 more shapes would be cool.

I have uploaded a new clean profile to the rig exchange.
I have only tested it with single coils, it sounds very good in my opinion.
... my amp is for sale -
Great! Thanks!

Here is another quick guitar cover. I had no backing track, so over the original.
As usual, guitar is a Squier '51 (Suhr SSH+ bridge)
Profile was the awesome Diezel Her CH3 SM57 by r.u.siriusEDIT: I have uploaded a different version.

Again this seems to be a pathetic reaction from the fractal father.
Reality is that more and more positive reviews are getting posted on message boards about the Kemper, it slowly gets the attention it deserves. And obviously a big number of the people who try the KPA think similarly. This is no guerrilla campaign. This is simply a very good product that advertises itself. -
Yes, it is very subjective.
I'm not really fond of the green screamer, but luckily the KPA takes real pedals quite well. Just throw a real overdrive between your guitar and the KPA.Oh, and CK said, he might include a different (Maxon) overdrive in the near future. The new version might suit some of us better.

LOL
Yes it needs to be fixed. I don't have it in my rigs but, it really bothers Scott so it needs to be fixed
-
Thanks for sharing it!
I'll definitely try it. -
In my opinion the strength of the KPA is the pure amp sounds. It most likely won't ever rival the Axe series for example in terms of effects. Hence it should be a priority to make the amp simulation as perfect as possible. It is already very good as is, but there is definitely a noticeable (under special circumstances) aliasing, which is unacceptable.

What is also interesting for me is that there is basically no Kemper threads on the Fractal forum. I guess if somebody pops one up, it gets removed quite fast. They simply can't cope with competition.
