Hi, here is an old music i made quickly re-amped with differents profiles.
All guitars and bass are reamped with the kemper.
I made this very quickly (tracks in the past almost one shot) so i know there is a lot of crappy playing that need to be re-played but i don't know if i want to do this with this track.
I just wanted to kemperized this
All effects from kemper, no eq just add an adaptative limiter in the stereo output to have more level. -
Cool !!!
Arff i miss my Universe...

1.) Don't use too much of the compressor, better work on your vibrato I don't use any.
2.) Don't use too high noisegate settings, it is better to wax pickups or improve the shielding of your guitar, or lower your volume when you don't playI tried to cut it but difference was anecdotic
3.) Use good quality Cables (not expensive ones just not the cheapest) I did (very correct cordial (neutrik) cable
4.) Do not use to much gain. Try to improve your palmmutes, hit Strings clear and hard, mute unwanted strings Well it depend on what kind of sound and style i need to play (i use from really clean to high gain sounds) and i must say that i'm quite satisfied with my playing.
5.) Use the TS to clean up unwanted high frequencies Never try this, thanks for the tips i will try
6.) If you don't like the wobbling tone, do not emphasize it with your playing technique In fact i like the real wobbling tone (and weird effects that you can do with a guitare) but not something to artificial that jump to my ears like that (like never before btw) -
many times it sounds like an additional note in the background (resembling some 'outer space, science fiction, flying saucer' effect). It is not a natural product of analog distortion, but has been a problem with numerous digital modelers in the past.
It's exactly what i hear in my sample and at the beginning the distortion is from the amp.
I think the Loulou sample is very eloquent :
http://users.skynet.be/fb817866/jcm800higain.mp3Per: tahnks for those experimenations, i must say that i'm not so interested by those technical explenations but great job !
But all this don't erase those flying saucers sounds that disturbing me !
It's not an amp without cab, the cab is a Marshall 1960 by Tills (available in the 1st page) with no change and the dist on at te the end of the sample. -
Again, i like this profile and sound but sometimes the sound just going weird, never had such things with real amp.
For you, all is fine here ???
-
OK, the yjm profile is, I think one of mine. Im away gigging this weekend but on Monday or tuesday I will run a profile of it then record both the profile and the reference amp doing the string bends. I have to say Ive never noticed any difference between the 2 myself. This may help.
Thanks it can really help ! (thanks for profil anyway i like it)
We can here what i mean in the Loulou222 post, it's what i talked about and it's not just on 1 profile apparently.
Personally, I use a lot this two notes or two notes bend with gain so i'm afraid to make a fixation on that.
-
Per, the dry signal is in my last post.
Personally i here something numerical AND what you talking about.
Will do more test tomorrow.
-
Here a harrible sample for the courageous (sorry i just play bend that my Kemper doesn't like)
i Can here the problem in every amp i used

I reamp the same sample with those profiles that i choose randomly:
Z28 flat
YJM100
ZAP POLY DRIVE
Vox Two 5
UWE Mars 1974
Pure Blues
TillS VK100 2 MICS
Tupelo Lead +
Ola Triple Recto Tight
MARK V 3 EXTREME 2
Marshall Gollub Crunc
Fischers AC BM BoosterFor those how want to test a reamping the dry file:

voila

I think it's a great profile until you play thing like in the sample.
I will make another test but i think this problem is on more profile than just this one.

In my humble opinion those problems (including the direct out clip) are caused by some issue with your sound card. I may well be wrong, but do you have a chance to borrow a different one.Just gut feel, no knowledge behind it...
No, it can't be cause of my soundcard, for the output i've got problem when profiling without going into my soundcard, my samples are just the direct level from my guitar and from the kemper if it was my sound card the problem should be for the 2 examples.
For the numerical noises i've got exactly the same problem with headphone (i recorded the sample with the headphone on my ears)
Is it something that can be resolve with an update ??
-
Hi, i made some test cause i already noticed that some numerical noises appears with sometimes.
Especially with bend with 2 notes, or artificial harmonics etc
Here an exemple with a YJM profile (01h with MARSHALL 1960 cab) normal then with reverb then with green scream (drive 0.0)
Maybe better for you to not clic !
I do love the tone but when you notice numerical noise, you hear just that
-
I will check that tomorrow but for profiling i can do nothing.
I'll must say bye bye to it and i'm so not happy about that !
-
So, it's a Hardware problem for those who are interested... (not many probably)
If you never use your direct output/send my advice would be : do it !
-
Thx, will check that !!
Your laste update contain 001,002,003,006,011 etc...
The missing number it's cause they are not good or we have to put the old one ?
-
Ok, that confirm that my direct output have a big problem...
-
Ok thanks, I will check from news from you about this.
-
mmm...
Up!
Edit: Some of you maybe haven't use the direct output yet (for reamping or profiling)
I think you should try the level of it, you maybe have the same problem. -
I have these pops & crackles as well... but irregularly. The strange thing is, it can occur and be very evident. And then, other times, it works with no crackles or pops. Could this be a soundcard issue?
My soundcard is set as slave (external).
Have you resolved your crackles problem ? i've got those too !
My sound card is also set "external", no way to have sound from spdif with internal.

Hi, i'm pretty sure now to have a problem with my kemper but if you can confirm that for me ?
Here is my guitar in my sound card in line input 1 (M-audio firewire 410, recording in Logic Pro 9)
http://soundcloud.com/mugiwara-4/guitare-direct-carte-son
here the direct output from my kemper in the same line input:(same guitar, same playing...)
http://soundcloud.com/mugiwara-4/guitare-direct-carte-son-1
I also made a profile and i think i understand now why the profiling level was so high and my amp saturate like that...
