I hope the new FW will be a MAJOR improvement.
Major improvement? I think the Kemper is pretty damned amazing as it is..... Anything else added is,.... well like Guitarnet said.... icing on the cake. Patience you all, Hell wasn't built in a day
-
Nobody tried the Van Halen yet? I am curious about your opinions...
How much does depend on your guitars?
Thanks, man, I think it sounds great! We need a "Tills Appreciation Thread!" Your contributions to this community can not be understated!
I tried using both active and passive pups and with a little EQing with each, of course, you can get really close to the tone.
Here's a couple more possible classic tone suggestions that could be desirable to a lot of folks:
Cliff Burton "Anesthesia Solo" (Bass)
Zakk Wylde with Ozzy "Crazy Babies"
Zakk Wyle with Black Label Society "Stronger Than Death"
ACDC "Highway To Hell"Van Halen "Eruption Solo"
Thanks, Tills, you're an awesome dude!

+1 I would contribute $ for this adventure!

Does this one come with a bag of Cheetos? I heard it can cause the munchies
-
Another cool tone that should be easy to grab would be Van Halen's "Unchained"
-
Why not... keep in mind they will sound different with other guitars...
Here is a new version, a little bit tweaked:

here are the profiles:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5902643/TillS_eqmatch_20120514.zipI think i might ne nice to create some "artist profile packs"...
Thanks, man! I was hoping someone would begin making some artist profiles! Any chance you could cop the clean tone from Metallica's "One"?

I simply did this: Made a folder called "Kemper" on my desktop. Inside that folder, I keep a folder that says "Audtioned". These are profiles that have been loaded into the Kemper. I don't usually load new profiles until a FW update comes out, so new profiles go into the Kemper folder and won't go into "Auditioned" folder until they actually make it on my flashdrive. If I don't like them when they get to the Kemper, I simply delete them from the Kemper, but I still have them on my PC for future reference. I try to keep the profiles on my Kemper as low as possible but I want to try every profile too.
Very tedious, but what do you do with 1700+ profiles? -
This is the $650 question!
If you already have a DAW and interface, the Kemper is the answer!
If USB connection and pc-editing is very important to you right now, then the AXE II is the answer!
Obviously, Kemper is going to have pc-editing, midi-controller, tone-matching(probably) and such, in the near future, but not everyone wants to wait for it.
My thinking went: Let's assume, for the sake of argument, that the AXE and Kemper are equals in terms of realistic tone(which they are not, IMO). Would you spend $2500 for a unit that puts out great tones or $1850 for a unit that puts out great tones? i.e. if cost is a consideration for you then: is AXE $650 better than the Kemper?!?!? What could you do with a Kemper and $650+ more dollars in your pocket?
Bottom line is either of these are amazing machines. Any guitarist can make either of these work for them. You can't go wrong!

+1
nothing beats learning like tried and true hands-on, trial and error experience.

At home i just use pro tools on pc with an mbox.
Have you had good results with this? I'm a bit familiar with Protools.
-
thanks, man! i cant wait ti give this a try!
-
What are you guys using with your Kemper?
-
That's cool and much-needed.
I like playing with amps I don't particularly like at first though. Sometimes you can find they are actually hidden gems, once you manipulate cabinets, FX, and EQs.

Tills is an author/profiler in the rig download section. His cabinets are the current standard for excellence. If you downloaded and installed the rig collection here you will have them:
Rig Collection - 27/04/2013 - Update - RIg Pack!In case you don't know, you can find the various Tills cabinets and others by holding down the soft button for Cabinet on your Kemper and then browse through them with your Browse knob. Different cabinets can really change the dynamics of a given rig. Experiment! It's well worth it!

Thanks for all your work. You Rock!

Very cool of you to make this offer!

Ughhh.....
I think I will be buying the AXE II to go along with the Kemper. I really really love the Kemper and I will be patient with the development and I think in the long run it will win out, but I also want the advancements that are available with the AXE II now and in the future.
