JAC They sound very different but both very good. I was just playing both.
Originally The Overlord was designed for keyboards and the reason for it being stereo and having the switchable level pad on the input .
When we guitar players heard it we loved on guitar as well.
Hereare the bigger differences to my ear.
The Overlord has more gain(you can even take the output of one channel and drive the second channel for big distortion.)
The mid control works over a very wide range and there is a dry mix control..
The Ehxtortion sounds more like a tradition guitar amp has great clarity and more tube amp like in the top end..
less overall gain.
The tone controls work more like a traditional guitar amp.
Again they sound very different. Both great.
I wish you could have a chance to try both and see what floats your boat.

Thank you I liked the Rockett ones!

I started on tape and would never want to go back to that; incredibly expensive and unreliable. I say move with the times and embrace technology, as our tools today will look outdated with the next generation.
The one thing advances have never replaced is ideas and good song-writing. Also new toys often help you to find the inspiration.
OMG Yes never go back.
You would put a snare in and a different sound would come out.
That's nice!
And if I could have all the time back I sat through tape machines rewinding I could go to Disney Land!! -
Well the good news is that quality is no longer a barrier to entry, Marketing however still is. What I'm saying also is the best quality is not going to save a poor performance.
TRUTH!
There is plenty of good sounding crap out there right now! -
Yeah, multitrack tape machines really caused people to become sloppy too...
Yes! Music was better when they recorded straight to wood!
The invention of steam engine killed it all for me. -
Danne69 Ah that was you!
Cool I dig it!
If you get a chance that would be great thanks.

No profiles of the ampli-firebox to load in the Kemper.
I would love to hear what that box sounds like. -
Of course I want new things added, but I would be happy as can be if nothing more changed.
The profiler is so deep now.
I felt bad when Christoph released the delays, people were there yelling for more even before learning the new stuff!Ok that said I would like guitar pickup profiling and dist/od profiling.
That would be fun. -
I just want more time in the day to explore all the great things it does now that I have not even used yet!
-
I only see two online and the ampli-firebox profile was great.
Anyone doing any profiles?
Thanks Bill -

Your 3D logo is amazing!! If I were Kemper I would buy that!

I use 6100 and 6000 Dunlop. Some of my newer Ibanez guitars out of Indo have tall frets and a bit more narrow.
The bigger the better if you have a light touch like I do.
If you grip with a heavy hand you will bend the strings sharp by your downword pressure.
If the frets are high it keeps the flesh of your finger tips away from touching the fret board. If you have a maple fingerboard you will feel the drag when you bend strings with lower frets.
I can not play a guitar with tiny frets. Years ago I would scallop fingerboards but now with the bigger wire available there is no need for that. -
Thanks guys, time to get lost in this thing!
Bill it's a custom case I had made for the kemper by http://casesmithcustoms.comthat's the carbon fiber finish, I think it compliments the Kemper well
Thank you
It does look GREAT! -
That 2 space rack box your monitor is on looks great!
What is it?
Thanks Bill -
Profile your AX8 settings and you WILL have it all in one box.

First off: I'm missing something. Call me crazy (and a lot of you probably will
lol) but i feel there's "harmonic content" missing. I just received a cd which i've played on about two months ago: My 6l6 amp with a pedalboard, SM57 and a Ribbon. And i'm feeling it's a richer sound, more complex, more alive than the Kemper profiles.
If you love your sound why don't you profile that rather that look for something you already have?
I did and was happy from then on. -
Happy B-Day Tim!!!!!!
Your stuff rocks. -
Sharry Thank you that tip saved me!
