welcome mate, I'm in Melbourne too - have the footswitch as part of the preorder, and it's awesome. Hope you win it!

halo bos!
apa kabar.. dimana nih? Jkt? Hehe.. Indonesian living in Melbourne here
How's Janet and colleagues at Davis?
-
hey mate!
Good to see another Aussie on the forum!
Whereabouts are you?
I'm using the Gordius LG2 - awesome for tweakability etc!
Cheers!
-
that is RAD!
-
to get the best out of it - I'd reckon yes.
Depends on what you're after too!
If you're playing live, and would require a toggle between profiles, and want to switch the FX on and off during your gig on the go.
I've used the PEAK ages ago when I ran my TC G-Major 2, but ended up going with the GCP instead back then (can't remember why)
But for the Kemper I'm now using the Gordius LG2 - it's great!
-
shouldn't be too much of an issue, programming can be a tad tricky, but any decent MIDI switcher should do the job for you!
OR.. you can wait until Mr Kemper does the 'blend' profile option (if this is possible...)
I'm a Gordius guy - so I'll recommend the Little Giant 2 - desktop software makes it really easy to work any workflows around.
I'm sure that other midi controllers such as the Liquid Foot or even the GCP could do the job.
-
well, didn't they offer to 'copy' the best profiles created by the Kemper?
what does that say?
'we can do what the other can...' but we can't offer you a way to capture it... so we'll copy it!
ah well.. the better product always prevail! Kemper all the way!
-
thank you for that!

I noticed a slight latency when I still had a lot of profiles on my KPA, did a system reset, and it went away. Haven't had that problem since I 'downsized' to about 200.
-
sounds really good & raw!
I'll be really amazed when we get to hear the final product mastered mate!
-
The reference amp volume is adjusted to the unity volume of the profiler. This guarantees a constant volume during a profiling session and prevents clipping on the return input. When you follow the manual and set the volume of the reference amp similar to the volume of the actual rig, then the automatic leveling will only apply small corrections. And you will not be surprized by a volume drop!
I found this out when I profiled my reeves - should really have read the manual first! And Christoph, you are a genious & a very gracious man!
Cheers

Sweet collection!
Great woods there!!
-
welcome!
-
Perhaps we need a simple guide for 'matching' MIDI controllers with the KPA...
-
really nice guys! Thank you for sharing, and please keep them coming!
-
another Gordius user... so easy & logical to use once you get the hang of it!
-
I'll put a +1 in here.
-
Every guitar - gear forum seem to have one... and I've trawled through.. but haven't found one in here yet...
So, a lot of you guys out there are gigging with the KPA - I'm wondering if any of you have kept any pedals to use in either the effects loop or in front of the KPA.
Please share your photos and perhaps how you use them?
I'm a big pedal junkie...
I had heaps of pedals (this was my last iteration prior to the KPA)[Blocked Image: http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk120/rocklogicmelbourne/photo2.jpg]
.... and my whole setup changed to accommodate the KPA![Blocked Image: http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk120/rocklogicmelbourne/IMG_0984.jpg]
Signal chain goes from the Line 6 wireless to the Timmy, into the input jack of the KPA.
KPA Send --> Polytune --> Timeline --> Lizard Leg Effects Boost --> KPA Return
I then have the Gordius Little Giant doing my main switching & in-KPA effects block, and the red pedal controls my volume, and the grey one does the wah. All powered by a little power supply called the Yankee
A lot of cables - I'm currently using Lava Ultramafic (awesome cables!) for all my pedal --> KPA signal, and the solderfree cables for all the pedal connections.
Everything lives neatly in a pedaltrain 3
In the midst of making a small junction box at the bottom of the board to make all the connections more straightforward instead of having to coil the cables underneath the board.
I'd love to see some of your boards & get some insights to how you operate the little wonder of a box that is the KPA!
Cheers

Got it all figured out! How cool is this! haha, as you can see. ive never programmed using MIDI before, so this is extremely cool to me, all my sounds at my foot, bliss!
I remember the first time I programmed my JMP-1 rack and TC G-Major with the GCP...first time bliss!
Congratulations, and welcome to the wonderful world of MIDI!

I've wired up 2 of the LG mission pedals to my board, and one set for another client. Both of us uses the Gordius LG as our foot controller.
Can't go wrong with the beauty, and built of the mission engineering pedals!
