May I know what is the purpose of getting the headphone? ie Mixing ? Or Pleasure listening? Rule of thumb is to get the lowest impedence with the highest sensitivity...

My personal experience ... I got a pair of Marshall Major with impedence 32 and sensitivity 121. this is powerful enough to drive the load even via i-phone since it come with low impedence. I endorsed it for the mid-range (if thats what you are after...) ... Bass response is meaty and less brittle

If you are using it for mixing, my suggestion is to get used to the frequency on the pair of headphone for pleasure listening by listening to more of your favourite hits/ mix on it ... You will know what kind of bass/mid/treble frequency it delivers and henceforth, you will mix it the way what the commercial songs delivers from it .. Of cos there is a school of thought that you can never get a clean mix via headphone, but you can sure get a good mix only when you are familar with the frequency with that same headphone ...Thats applied for studio monitor. When come to mixing , there is no right or wrong, what it matters its if it sounds good and translated well in common audio interface... Just some of my personal experience during my headphone hunt .....

Of cos, it sounds good with KPA ...

    Good luck.

Guitars: VGS-EMG passive single and VGS-EMG passive bumbuckers.
    Monitor: Yamaha DXR10
PA: Yamaha DXR12 (for small clubs).
    Mixer: Motu Ultra

    Hi Peter,

I was using Motu Ultralite previously with DXR 10 too ... What i ususally did to clean up the bassy/ honk by simply adding a high pass filter within Motu for the KPA input channel to clean that up... It can be ranged from 80 to 160hz and you may adjust to taste and personal preference depends on the profile you are using. i did not use the built in filter in DXR... For some profile I do not need to enegage that at all .. For the current mixer Im using, it has a fixed frequency shelving at 100hz which sometimes I may explore that without making alot of adjustment with KPA (as a quick fixed)

Just sharing my experience thats all...

Thanks Ingolf for the review ..

One more question, does it live up to the expectation as a stereo FRFR (adequate low and high end with spread) when KPA connected to it?

How does this compared to Mustang III in terms of speaker for KPA?

Hope not asking too much if you could do a video demo with KPA connecting to L6 Amplifi...

I think that if you use the stock FXs it is possible to get a wet/dry/wet feature where the 12" driver produce the dry signal. Hard to say if it will be possible to translate from an external device thought...

In the Amplifi (i-phone) module, I have noticed there's a way to by-pass the amp & cab (aka Line 6 processing) even when connecting directly thur the 1/4" input .. Not sure how much it will coloured the sound if KPA is routed thur this input.. This is another possibility to get the wet/dry/wet feature, perhaps is to use the Line 6 delay or reverb only.

If the connection is via 1/8", it seems like it may defeat the blending volume feature since it suppose to "mix" the 1/4" input with bluetoothe audio play back.. of cos, we can still get a good "mix" or blend by controlling the volume directly of the individual equipment used.

Ingolf, when you received your product you may try on different input and see which delivers the best sounding ... Awaiting your findings

The 150 is still not available in Germany, takes approx. 10 more days.
I have one on order and will post here of course. ;)

   Cool ... Appreciate if you could give us a review after you received your order.

Nothing much been mentioned in the specs on the 1/4" if they can accept both balanced (TRS) and un-balanced input... Ingolf, it will be great if you could also share how you connect your KPA into this.. Thanks in advance

I recently come across this product, of cos what im more interested is the Full range speakers and their 12" celestion low frequency speaker ... Just wonder any Kemper user ever try pluging in Kemper into this? And how does it sound like?

Unfortunately the country Im in does not have both Kemper and Line 6 selling at the same store which I can try it...

    Hi CK,

Any chance there will be a high-pass filter EQ incorporated in KPA? It will be good to make it "sweeping" effect by turning the knob to move around the frequency range with a selectable preset slope of 6, 12 and 24db ...

no hint needed, that's how it works. roll down volume and the amp cleans up. works for me from lipstick singlecoils all the way to EMGs.

do you have a compressor in front?
what's your distortion sense value / pickups?

The profile Im using its from the rig exchange: "JP Extreme"
No compressor in front.. (In fact nothing in front)
    Both Clean/ Dist sense @ 0 value
However, my noise gate is at value 5
Amp Comp & Pick at 0 value
    Pickups: D'marzio Evolution
    Gain at 7 btw ...

Just use the amp compressor and you will be fine...

    Hi,

About this Amp Compressor ... I somehow don't have any luck in dialing a good setting on it. Perhaps you may advise the proper way of using it.

My initial impression is to use this function to compensate the "loudness" of a cleaner tone when I roll down my guitar volume for a gainy amp setting (ie gain around 6 or 7) .. Most time when i roll down the guitar vol, I do not get a cleaner tone, it just simply lower the volume with the "dirt" sounding still pretty prominent. If i were to increase the amp compressor above 5, it sounds awful. I may be missing something here ... What I am trying to achieve here is to able to roll down the volume of my guitar to get a "cleaner" tone when running a gainy amp setting. Any hint?

thank you for your answers, but the auction is over.... ;(
no matter I want to have a good interface for max. 350€ (used)
I only need USB,2 inputs, spdif coax and good preamps for vocal is motu a good choice?

yes i wonna reamp (not now but for future projects, nobody knows whats coming next after cab maker, for ozone its seems interesting)

I hear motu has problem with spdif and usb (is that right?) I dont wanna an babyface (good but expansive and i need converter for optical/coax spdif)

For my MOTU, im running via firewire .. So far no problem at all. Spdif, never try before, so couldn't comment much...

    Hello Kamin,
from the pictures I saw on the Net it seems that the Ultralite and the KPA share the same S\PDIF sockets. So the cable you linked in the OP seems quite right to me :)

Yes confirm, they both shared the same Spdif sockets ...

Just wonder will there be a difference if you were to buy a twin to twin (RCA as per your picture) to a one to one (RCA)?
Normally for RCA cabling, the Red will denote for Left and White for Right for example .. However for Spdif connection, its meant for "In" & "Out". I suppose for recording, you will most likely connect the "Out" from Kemper into "In" of your audio interface unless for specify application you may want to route it back to your kemper "In" and "Out" from your interface.. ie Reamp (Im not familar with reamp though...)

Have you ensure the cable is correctly connected to your effects? ie "Direct Out" from KPA into "Input" and etc..

I suppose Loop mono & distortion is meant for either one of the stomp A,B,C & D (pre-amp position)... As for Loop stereo, it will be X (post amp position)

Im currently using Vox Satchurator on one of A,B,C & D position using Loop Dist, I do not have any annoying sound and the pedal just work the way its intended to be...
