This comparison is a bad joke. Take a good plugin and take a bad-mediocre kemper profile and voila, the plugin sounds better. Everyone here can do that. Oh, and I love the first guy's comment "Just watching the wave profiles it's easy to see the Kemper is way more compressed.." I mean if you can't see the difference between a DI track and a processed track, maybe you shouldn't comment at all and he can't be guitar player either.

I'm really excited for the QC - I'm in the second wave of pre-orders. My concern is similar to the plugins though, and as dmatthews mentions above - all demos are all CHUGGCHUGGAWAAAAAAAHHHHH. Completely loses nuances in demos, and it just seems a competition to show how heavy it can sound.
You're right. But who has more videos on YT with ampsims, kempers, axe-fx? So this is expected.

I think we can all agree that if you like/use OD pedals then the built in ones do not compete with the high end pedals ( Klon etc).
For me ( and it is just me - I'm not a pedal guy) I think you can get the same effect through a different Amp/gain level/eq. I've never found an OD pedal that I go "wow" that transforms my sound into something new. Along with the additional noise , balancing the gain structures between the amp, additional pedal board space, power blocks, true bypass vs buffered...just not for me.
Anyway, I seriously hope they do upgrade the OD pedals for those that want them and perhaps I might then be converted
Maybe you will be converted. But you will try them and like them, You will like them.

I feel the same BUT many people want those boutique OD pedals....personally Amps give me the gain structure and flavours I need..
And there's a myth that boutique amps och pedals are better. Not true. We'll see what the pedal update will be like soon.

Jevo profiles, they're great and they're free. But there's no such thing as best profiles. EVH 5150 (100W) Direct Amp profiles

Who has 80's high gain profiles? Think like Tony Macalpine's Maximum Security, Jason Becker's Perpetual Burn kind of sound.
-
I do that too, change cabs and then I have a profile I wouldn't use otherwise.
-
Wow that's really bad service and attitude. A read me file, come on, it doesn't cost them anything.

I haven't edited the profiles, but I am using regular computer speakers which is less than ideal and gives a wrong representation of the sound. I'm looking into buying a pair of monitors (probably Adam T5V, no need for anything better as this is just a hobby for me).
Oh, okay. I'v got Adam A5 so yes better monitors is a must for a more honest sound. I know when I started play guitar again after years not, I tried to use those typical pc speakers first. Didn't work at all.

Here are two short clips I made this evening, nothing special:
Sounds brutal but the either the p.u. is a very bright one or the profiles used too trebly.

Haven't listened to this band for years and they're still great.

We were talking about ethics. Downloading torrents is illegal, even if there's no way to enforce that. You can say everyone is doing it, and then cry foul about people sharing commercial profiles or IRs, but you don't really have a leg to stand on.
As far as the Kemper, we already know the profiling procedure is legal.
But if something is used to prevent profiling, I don't think it will be as simple as breaching CD protection, as easy as it sounds. Because the Kemper uses its own OS, it's not a question of some kid just spending a few days and cracking it.
And remember the REVV guy in the video said that other manufacturers might adopt similar technology.
It's a very interesting development, I thought.
You missunderstod my point.

This kind of tech can be bypassed by cleverer people. I wouldn't worry at all..
They said the same about CD copy protection. It took just a couple of days and a kid had cracked the code. Record Companies wanted to stop the mp3. How many buy a CD today? You can't stop technological progress. Embrace it instead. Instead of blaming something like Kemper. Maybe more invest money in HW amps becuase they want to make their own profiles? Who knows? You can't blame technology becuase your sale decrease. I know Laney, Blackstar and Engl have hybrid amps. That's how to embrace new technology.

Mine are fine. They're tight enough but the in is little bit tighter than the out but it doesn't matter as I have zero problem.
-
You cannot change the Instrument yourself...
Oh, okay that really sucks.
-
-
I just bought the "Just Bass" pack. Curious why the instrument says "Guitar" on some rigs, instead of "Bass". It's quite annoying actually because I have so many profiles in my Kemper and I want to list only the Bass profiles when I'm playing bass. The rigs with "Guitar" as Instrument will not be listed if I filter on Bass profiles in the Browser...
You have to the name yourself. Annoying but what else to do.

No problem here. But I remember I had that problem with 3.(something)and profiles sounded really bad and had to go back to last update but as soon as a new version was out I updated and everything sounded as is should do. So I'm not surprised this has happened to others. Why it happens to some or not I do not know why.

Good news: For the next OS version an extension of the overdrives is coming!
How do you know that?
