I use it in slot A and still have some of the glitchiness you can hear in Will's comparison demo. I use it for a whole step down on Tame Impala's Elephant and a half step down for U2's All I Want Is You. The Tame Impala tune works great since it's mostly single notes; the U2 tune has more chords and presents more issues.

Ben, you mean you consider it worse than other brands', or is it just the technology not there IYO?
It's certainly the best that I've ever used, but based on this clip it doesn't seem to measure up to DigiTech's Whammy:External Content soundcloud.comContent embedded from external sources will not be displayed without your consent.Through the activation of external content, you agree that personal data may be transferred to third party platforms. Anybody here who likes KPA's take on the BigMuff or FuzzFace?
It took me a while to warm up to the Muff stomp. Combining it with the Treble Booster in front and playing with EQ got me closer to Gilmour's Ram's Head tones, although I never exactly nailed it. As I've posted many times before, I never got even in the ballpark of Gilmour's farty/spitty Fuzz Face tones. Now that I'm more familiar with the Recti Shaper and ducking I might be able to do better. -
It's always had a little glitchiness when transposing chords IME, before and after the update.

My Mercury Head prototype/test mule. It isn't perfect, but it's mine.

Thanks, Andy! looking forward to testing these tomorrow night.

Nice. Another trick I've used when you need a note harmonized differently in different parts of the same melodic line:
Let's say in the beginning of the line you want the harmonizer to play C# over your A and at the end of the line you want D over your A. 1st you program User Scale 1 to play a C# over A and User Scale 2 to just play A (unison) over A. Then you program User Scale 1 to play D over Ab and User Scale 2 to play A over Ab. Set the Mix to 100%. You'd have to train yourself to fret Ab instead of A for the end, but in the heat of the moment I've found it's easier to manage than hitting a footswitch, esp. if there's singing involved. It would be cool if the KPA let you program an expression pedal to morph from one scale to another like a crazy pedal steel, but we live in the real world.

I thought it's not supposed to affect clean tones.
I'm keeping mine on at 6 for now. I still feel like it sometimes reduces the character of a profile, but I do appreciate the smoother sound.
After more testing I've decided to lower it to 3. It will probably be a moving target depending on the rig, the context (gig/home, loud/soft, CLR/headphones) and my mood. -
+1. I tend to look for specific sounds.

Never happened to me. Any chance someone stepped on or bumped the KPA's power cable?

The trick for me was to use the Recti Shaper's Ducking parameter. Play with a lighter touch and it sounds normal. Dig in and it gets splatty. I'll post a clip soon.
-
In case anyone was wondering, Recti Shaper solved the puzzle for me.

I know that the Helix sure has my attention. I wish it were smaller, but the fact that it could potentially handle both guitar and vocal FX means I absolutely have to at least give it a try.
-
Hence my feature request:
Please add "Expression pedal assignable to any parameter on a rig-by-rig basis" to the list of feature requests.
Post your support here. -

Great, looks like I'm upgrading then.

#2. Care to share settings or a profile with a newb?
Sure, I'll post the rig to the Rig Exchange when I'm "done" (it's hard for me to stop tweaking).
