Oh, and if you choose to, you can use it as a usb interface when you need one.

I have been quite happy with zoom r24, perfect for recording band rehersals for later tinkering in DAW at home. Have tested internal drum machine and backing tracks.

Someone needs to go to GAS anonymous meetings, my brain would explode with all these choices
Nice collection!

I agree with Paults, to me it should not be in the pickups.
In my Les Pauls i have used:
- Gibson 498t/490r
- Seymour Duncan Alnico 2 Pro from the 80's
- Gibson Burstbucker II
- Lollar P90I think these all sound great and very similar with the exception of the P90 of course.
I play everything between classic rock to metal and all these pickups can work depending on settings.
Im no expert but i would guess that tone is 50% is the profile, 40% in the fingers and 10% pickups/guitar.Just curious, what ceramic pickups are in the guitar?

This is not a wise man, this is a man who is (in this case) wrong.
Simple rule: When using IEM you simply have to be careful not to turn up too loud to compensate for something described as oomph, moving air, 3-dimensionality (whatever).
You will achieve excellent results when you make up a good monitor mix in your IEM's with a good balance of all instruments, and add a good portion of room.
I'm always pleased with my IEM experience.Ok, maybe he used them in an unwise manner
I agree, adding room is a good way to keep volume down.

Edit: I have now listened to the clip with headphones, that type of sound would make my ears really tired after 2 hours.
I would use a parametric EQ or lower gain to try to tame it, or better yet try and find a similar rig without this top end to save time and frustration. -
I remember a wise man (steve lukather) saying he wished he had never used IEM/headphones as they have damaged his hearing.
For me it is difficult to choose a low enough volume to avoid fatigue with headphones. -
How do you like the CLR vs. the Mackie HD1221? Great looking setup and a beautiful guitar!
Hmm, i just wrote a response that went into the void, strange...
Anyway, the CLR wins on sound quality, slightly clearer sound and wider spread, the HD1221 has a slight dip in the mids somewhere, this makes it sound a bit honky, maybe due to the passive crossover?
This could only be heard when A/B testing them side by side so it is not a huge difference, the price increase from $850 to the CLR's $1200 shows you start to get diminishing returns as the price goes up, but still good enough for me to keep the CLR.
HD1221 has better looks and percieved build quality and is still a very good speaker compared to the previous ones i have tested. -
Aaaah the P90 soapbars
They are great, it came with lollar P90's so i have no idea how the originals sounded, it does ring lika a bell compared to my thin neck humbucker les pauls

For me i had the same experience with the 1st pack and i am not using any of the profiles.
I think it must be the guitar cab monitoring that made them dull sounding or perhaps i am not using
enough volume with FRFR wedge.. I saw that M.britt does not have his guitarcab in his face so maybe he has way more volume
I guess i could use an EQ to try and fix it but i hate tweaking as i get tone deaf very quickly, i can only do minor adjustments at a time to not get lost, so i find its easier to look for a plug&play rig.On the other hand, my favorite profiles from TAF can get a bit too bright at high volume, but this is usually when the whole band should turn down a bit.

I thought it was standard practise to measure action at 12th fret or am i missing something?
-
Damn it!
Enough with the teasing, i know you have a KFC for me there somewhere -
Hmm, its always a headscratcher when it comes to fractions of inches, good thing we have google
I have slightly higher action, minimum of 2mm at E and around 1.5mm at E, i beat the strings a lot when playing rythm and this height works well with 11-49's
-
Line 6 flextone II -> Line 6 HD head -> Line 6 guitar port -> KPA. Now if they would release the KFC i will have the gas cured for years to come. (Not counting guitars or speakers)

Sorry, just got home and finally got a chance to hook it up. First impression is that i made the right choice. This thing is awesome! Much better sound to me than the DXR12.
I agree, i tried the DXR12 a while back and it is definately not as good.

I am from Europe. Where can I best order these? I am considering switching from a guitar cabinet to these. Hear so many good stories...
Question is just whether I can avoid customs taxes..
And a content question: I have a Kemper with a Camplifier built in. Does it still make sense to buy an active monitor?
Cheerio
Follow the instructions here and you will get an answer from Tom http://www.atomicamps.com/purchase-atomic.html
Atomic has a facility in the UK so you dont have to pay for customs, but tax is added to the price.

Our ears (and our heads) must get used to listening through FRFR and do we really need to spend all this $$$ on expensive monitors when in reality the audience is usually listening to mostly mediocre PA systems anyway.
I think we do get used to the sound, maybe you have with time tweaked your sounds and/or playing slightly to adapt to FRFR?
I was relatively content with my sounds, then i tried A/B with a CLR, i could hear some flaws in my old monitor that i was unaware of before.. hmm i wonder what a meyer monitor sounds like..
