I’ve been thinking about my time with the Kemper today. (Kemporian Calender? Anno Kempini 6?..). I LOVE that I can celebrate 6 years with a digital tool, and it’s still current. Longevity for the win!

and to show the «quality» of the Kemper: The screen plastic still holds on. After gigs and rehearsals, it’s still there.

I just found my receipt. I’ve been a Kemper owner 6 years tomorrow! Awesome.

First sentence of the thread:
Haha, you know, I actually checked the OP twice to see if it was mentioned. Scary huh?
-
Can one hear a delay of 362 samples?...
I like being on time and «tight», but this is midi-level tightness, isn’t it...
Edit: did the math, 362 samples at 44.1 is 8,2 ms...

Switch clock source on the Focusrite. It needs to slave to the Kemper (i.e., the Focusrite can’t be clock master).
-
Am I the only one who checks the site daily to find there are no kemper updates???
No, you’re not.

I just tried the Kemper through a Roland Quad-Capture. No weird artifacts... The Roland works on bus power, so that get rid of a lot of cable spaghetti right there. Just USB cable and a cable from the Kemper. So it´s probably an interface-issue. I have to pull the desk out and troubleshoot the UCX...
-
And here is the pure signal from the Kemper. Stack is OFF, and the signal is running analog to the UCX.

So, this is baffling...
Here is the original DI with serious volume boost. To the point of distorting:

I need to try a different interface. Sigh...

Sorry... busy weekend. I’ll get to it, and post results here.
-
Hm, I dunno. I have no noise gate in the slots. The global noise gate (the one with it’s own knob on the front) is at zero.
No noise gates on Cubases channels either...
-
So no thoughts on the swoop-ish sound after the note guys?
-
Er, I should probably have been more specific. It’s not the noise floor, or background noise. It’s that shiiiiosh-sound that comes when the guitar stops. Sounds like a noise gate kicking in while a vinyl effect stops. It last for a second, then it’s gone. It makes no sense...
I run RME UCX. Perhaps it’s time to try to reamp analoge and see if that helps.
-
I´ve just noticed something, and it baffles me. There is a real noticable noise when reamping through SPDIF. Please listen to the attached link.
Now, there is no such noise when playing. There is no noise when listening to the DI (it actually sounds clean like a whistle), but when reamping it sounds like this. Any ideas what might cause this?
The profile is an Evil Robot profile from TAF. Its there with other profiles too, but it varies with regards to how much noise there is. Noise gate is at zero. No effects is on. There is graphic EQ in the X spot with low and high cut active.Any ideas?

‘twas probably the other thread. Either way, the files are still in my dropbox.

We have the 535Q Kirk Hammet by LiamThompson in the settings thread (and zip file), dahla. Not quite right for you, mate?
I take it you'd prefer the KH95, no?
I sent Don the white noise files for the KH-95 a while back you know. It’s a few pages back in this thread actually.
And I still have the KH-95. So it’s not THAT important on my behalf. Still...
Edit: uh, can’t find my posts regarding the KH-95. I didn’t dream I posted about it, did I? I PM’d the files to Don september 2017 at least.

Hi @DonPetersen. Do you have the settings for the Hammett wah?
-
I’m pretty fond of Klotz. Always works for me. The La Grange cable was the first «high end» cable I bought, and I still have it 10 years later. Longevity for the win!
Cordial works too, but I have only TRS cables from them.

I think I have a bug that supposedly had been squashed.
Kemper, with ME KP-1 expression pedal, hopked up to the remote. The switch is effect on/off.
With wah locked in slot A, and off, it turns on when the remote turns on/boots. Quite annoying, because then I have an active wah effect I have to turn off before I play. (Insert Hammett joke here)
