I remember last time using reverb sometime in 90's ;), so not in a rush.

I have it on good authority that Line 6 plans to buy out Kemper and absorb the profiling technology into its Helix family of products. Profiling will now be authorized through paid Profile Tokens. Amps, stomps, and cabs will be sold individually through the cloud. Premium artist packs will be available through a paid monthly subscription service. That's what this year's NAMM announcement is all about.

Don't even f-kn joke about it

There is definitely a difference in tone when using different picks. Thickness and material matter the most IMO. There are no other digital devices I've owned/tried which would react as realistically to the pick as Kemper though, so for someone coming from pure digital world it may be a (nice) surprise.

Just jamming/trying some random ideas, so it prolly won't make much sense to you Really monster amp, sounds just like my original 68 Plexi, but without bleeding from ears.., hmm,.. I had it damn loud tho

I love release speculation threads. They're some of the best free entertainment a working class programmer can get.
Here's what happens in most shops. A marketing guy walks into the programmer area (usually after a three martini lunch)...
Marketing: "Hey, guys! I have this great idea for a feature everyone would love. How long do you think it will take?"
Programmers: "Dunno. We've never done it before."
Marketing: "Sure, I understand, but how long will it take?"
Programmers: "Well, first you'd have to give us detailed requirements of what you want, then we have to do the design work, and after that we have to figure out how to implement that design in the code. Once that's done, we have to do the testing until we've fixed all the problems. So as you can see, there's really no way to give you an accurate answer until we're neck deep in it."
Marketing: (now becoming impatient) "You guys are just being evasive. For the xyz feature I'm talking about, it really shouldn't take that long. I mean, we're talking weeks, not months!"
Programmers: "Have you ever written code?"
Marketing: "No, but geez, guys, it's just not that complicated!"
Programmers: "Nonetheless, we can't take the cocktail napkin you've just handed us and tell you how long it will take."
Marketing: "Well, I was just at a trade show, and I told them we should be able to have this out in a matter of months. So hey, guys - how long will this take?"
There's not nearly as much fiction as you might think in this scenario .
I think in this case is more like.. "let's implement nev reverbs.. how long it will take to get them perfect, a couple of weeks? 6 months later..". I see CK and Kemper team more like a prog rock band than anything else. They just work until it's done and perfect. I don't think the development over there is that much affected by marketing - user feedback, yes, definitely, but marketing, not much. There is too much pragmatic innovation going on, instead of writing useless mobile apps and adding 4k rez touch displays with youtube built in.

Help here:

If that doesn't help, I'd just sell the Kemper and buy something simpler.

+10 for undo all!

Had a chance to play them today, cranked loud, these are really good, non-nonsense profiles. I own Kraken VX and the profiles sound like amp (well, one of 100s settings you can get from real thing). A couple of rigs have low shit on the cab and pure cab on. Most of them sound like flat EQ settings, so twist the knobs.
and again.. crank the hell out of them, there is no point of playing guitar when one can hear the strings ringing acoustically.
-
Kemper has replaced whole front panel for me, not the unit. It will likely work for another 5+ years and the repair has a warranty. I didn't think they charged me too much (neither I care). Personally I don't have time to play around with unauthorized repairs which may or may not work.
If it dies again, I'll not hesitate to replace/repair it again.

You can make DI profiles already. BTW I am more used to hearing my guitar via studio monitors than a cabinet (or at least equally), so "we all" is slightly exaggerated.
-
I heard a lot of people "complaining" that they bought profiles from commercial sellers but that those profiles doesn't sound the same as in their demos.
And that is very true!
But the truth is, they do sound the same if the demo clips has no post processing on them!
What makes the biggest difference is your playing!
One of THE MAIN reasons is your right hand, the way you palm mute, pick the strings!
In this clip you can hear 3 different players on the same guitar, with the same pickup and the same pick straight into the same Kemper profile.
EDIT: The guitar used in this clip is Schecter BlackJack Solo with Seymour Duncan SH5 pickup.
So, there's simply NOTHING wrong with your Kemper when you start demoing profiles you bought while expecting them to sound 100% identical like in demo clips.
What you think?

We have provided more information on this in our privacy policy.Yeah. Give them different pick they will sound even more different. I have heard some drastic differences in tone on exactly the same gear more often than not. All digital amps so far masked this a lot, except Kemper. I know a couple of people who never used a tube amp and it took them a quite long time to adjust to a tube amp/Kemper.
The best way to improve the tone is to practice more. That's all.

Are the reverbs out yet?
Better preset management is very welcome, I am tired of prefixing everything with "DLY" etc.
ps. and bring that Kemper 2 out already, please.

I finally gave up on waiting for an editor and decided to selling my Kemper.
Did you get Microsoft Word as a replacement?

Post a track please. A 30 seconds is enough. We have lots of people with good ears here.

Boss just re-released the Dimension (Waza)!
I still would like it implemented in the Kemper. Not big effect user, but Dimension is pretty much on every other record released in 80s and 90s Sounds amazing, still.
-
Demo mode in rig manager would require Kemper to be involved formally in 3rd party commercial profiles business. Can't speak for them, so who knows, but I have a feeling it will never happen - it would be a crazy business decision.
Back on topic, I've never ran into a profile which would sound drastically different to what I have heard in a demo (after accounting for differences in playing technique, guitar and listening equipment, in that order)

I've played the same riff on my PRS McCarty SInglecut and PRS Custom 24 and get very similar sound esp. when I coil split. The humbucker characteristics come through as expected. Will try JEMs and Starts when I have a bit of time.

Set up your tube amp for a Strat with Lace Sensors and ash body and ask your friend to plug a Gibson in, then play it. Or even a different Strat. Or, if you pick like wimp because you never played a tube amp, only modellers/software which react like guitar synth (not Kemper or very few others), it will not sound right.
The difference a) player b) guitar makes is massive. Profiler models that very well.

embarrassing ........ nothing else. Like the 1980s 19" effects, turning knobs, holding switches ...... and with better display back in the 1980s! My 100,- EUR printer got a better display ...... touch display!
Hook up your guitar to your printer then. I am sure you will get better tone.
