They've ignored people requesting the same thing for 4+ years. Someone else HAS written an editor that works via MIDI. If you want to write one yourself, go for it.

These profiles (including the one JMP) have been on the Exchange for me for ages - I usually look for profiles using 75s, so most of his show up in my searches.

Here's the original profile: https://www.dropbox.com/s/eop1…1-02%2017-16-47.kipr?dl=0
No idea if it's the same as what's on the Rig Exchange or not.

Have you ever tried to do the same on the classic MESA 5 Band EQ? It is obviously clear where the center frequencies of each band are on the Mesa but I have often wondered what the Q width was for these and whether it was possible to recreate this in the Kemper or in the EQ plugins of my DAW.
Since I don't have any other gear worth examining, nope. The setup you describe should work fine, though.
I did find this: https://wiki.fractalaudio.com/…x.php?title=Mesa_amp_tips . It's worth noting that the Mesa EQ is variable Q - the bands get narrower the farther up/down you go, which is why you can scoop 750Hz out on them without sounding like Dimebag.

The graphic EQ (and the Studio EQ) is for making much narrower changes than what the amp EQ can do. Each slider affects a very small frequency range - roughly an octave, but there's always some spillover. Try playing with just one band at a time, turn it all the way up or down, and listen for what "flavor" that adds/removes to your signal.
Also, I'd recommend having a look at the link in my signature if you're a visual person. Lots of pretty EQ pictures.

The load box should have a specific Line Out that's meant for plugging into other gear, and from there you can run the either the front input or the alternate on the back, whatever's easier.

but i haven't figured out if you can shut all the amp/profile portion off and just use the cab/effects).
Press the Amp button? -
As much as I would love an editor, I have never in my life wanted to see a thread locked as much as this one.
Seriously guys - fighting about whether Kemper is a good company, whether it's appropriate to complain about longstanding feature requests, telling other users they're cultists, or entitled... grow up.
-
Three or four years ago the response from Kemper was "we don't see the need for it".
However, they've had job postings for software people up for a while now, which might suggest a change of heart.
-
I could be wrong; not finding anything about it after fifteen minutes of searching/Googling. I swear I remember seeing a post about it though.
-
Pretty sure that Kemper have specifically said an IR converted to a Cab won't sound the same unless you turn Character all the way down.

That's a requirement for using lots of samples, though - nothing to do with the TriplePlay itself. JamOrigin or a Roland GR or Ghost (I think that's the name?) saddles would have the same need.
@Nikos - no, the instruments are pretty good. The actual TriplePlay VST where you can change the unit's settings, or split the fretboard to play different synths with different strings/frets, I found to be slow and a bit buggy. You can use the unit just fine without it, you'd just have to deal with MIDI channels and that sort of thing yourself.
They may have fixed it up since I last used the software though.

I have a Triple Play and if you go that route, you want to use no less than an i7 computer chip, 16GB of RAM,and Solid State hard drive for the best latency.
This is simply not true. The TriplePlay unit handles all of the tracking and MIDI conversion - you can use it directly into a hardware synth if you want. Latency IS dependent on computer hardware, but not any more specific to the TriplePlay than anything else.
My laptop is well below your listed specs and, prior to selling my TriplePlay, it worked great with very low latency.
Don't use the TriplePlay software though, it's clunky.

- Ease off the gain, for one.
- Consider adding a teeeeeeeeny tiiiiiiiiiny bit of Direct Mix. I love a good metal profile with DM at maybe 0.2, just to add a bit of dynamics and note definition back to the tone.
-
Without having a Larry amp available, your best bet is a Plexi or JCM profile running into a 1960 cab with (IMO) Celestion 75s or 65s; they have a pretty percussive, scooped sound compared to something like a V30. If you think about it, Schaffer's tone isn't too far from what Metallica had on Ride The Lightning or Master of Puppets. Funny enough, those albums used Plexis (well, MOP was a IIC into a Plexi's power section) and 1960 cabs.
-
You're pretty much just boosting 3kHz a little bit, but if it sounds good that's all that matters.
-
Currently no, you can't use SPDIF like an effect loop.
The SPDIF input is right at the beginning of the Kemper's signal chain, and if you're playing live with a guitar then you can't have it set to SPDIF Input anyway.

I've EQed impulse responses a few time as well, works fine.

A while back there was a video showing off all the new delays and the guy had a few Pitch delays on his unit that aren't available yet. So... I'm pretty sure it's happening in the near future.
