    Bang! My new sunshine ...ehrm... sunburst in house. :*
    Shoot it for few bucks in Tokyo. Its a Greco EG 900 from 1979 in a awesome condition!
    At headstock no dings and dongs! How is this possible after 38 years??? Give my tips brother! ^^
    So I became a little collector in MiJ guitars. And I had made good experienses with a Burny Custom. Both guitars wasn't sold in 70s and 80s here in Germany.
    But I heard more and more good things about these guitars of this time in the last years. For that reason since two years I'm more and more interestet in MiJ guitars. Now I think I can see if I can have a good deal with brands like Yamaha, Burny, Greco, Navigator and so on..
    Now I shot this one. This first fast photo is not so good, to colored a.s.o. but for the first impression...
    This type of the Greco brand at this time was been a better one. It is handmade, long tenon, and there were only 2 typs higher in '79.
    And for my first impression after the Burny this one is better too as the Les Paul Std. of Gibson. I'm absolute astonished again! 8|
    One reason I think are the PUs of that time. These are the extraordinary DiMarzio USA Super Distortion & PAF Humbuckers! I remember that time every guitarist talked about these PUs.
    And this guitar confirmed that. Fat, meaty, roaring and upwardly toward a lot of steam. "Ooooh" says the secretary! But still very balanced and warm. Just the sound of the 70s. ;)
    One of my best invests after Kemper the last years.

    For me it's bad. I made these days a thread for to buy guitars. Now I'm bought a guitar and don't watching no more for this model. And my idea was that I would make updates what I'm looking for.
    On the other hand I found a mistake of my discription I would chance. But that's no more possible now. :/

  • Es rockt einfach nicht

    Jetzt biste auf dem richtigen Weg!
    So bin ich damals auch vorgegangen. Noch ein Tip, der bei mir eigentlich ganz gut funktioniert hat:
    Du brauchst irgendwann einen Sound der Dir auf Kopfhören zu 100% gefällt. Dann steuerst Du den im Live nach und machst einen einzelnen Live-Rig draus. Das ist die aufwendiger Variante, die aber in jedem Fall genauer ist.
    Oder Du machst es wie ich und legst im Output eine Einstellung ab, die sich auf die entsprechende Situation bezieht (Studio/Kopfhörer, Gitarrentyp, Live, Übungsraum, PA usw.). Damit steuerst Du dann alle Deine Rigs, die z.B. in Studio-Form für Dich überragend klingen, live so, dass sie sich nähern. Mit der Zeit wird Dir auffallen, dass manche Studio Sounds live nie klingen werden, manche viel zu leise aufgenommen werden und so komisch weit hinten stehen. Das ist dann der nächste große Schritt den Du erkennen und umsetzen wirst.


    Dein Herangehen bis jetzt ist aber total richtig!
    Übrigens habe ich an meinem Lieblingssound 2 Wochen lang in 5 Varianten, mal 5 Gitarren, mal 1mal live und 1mal Studio gefeilt.
    Ich kann Dir sagen, dass mir noch immer ein Bolzen aus der Hose kullert, wenn ich den schalte.
    Mittlerweile habe ich etwa 20 Basisounds plus Varianten. Heute investiere ich etwa 4-5 Tage in einen Basissound mit Varianten. Das geht jetzt schneller, aber ich muss zugeben, dass ich es nicht mehr geschaft habe solche ein Ding erneut zu zaubern.
    Mit dem Camplifier wirst Du feststellen was Du bisher so noch nicht bei den Sounds gehört hast. Ich bin da voll bei @Sharry da werden bei kleineren Drehungen Sachen deutlich, die im Cabinet und Röhre untergingen. Hat allerdings den Nachteil, dass bei zu viel Zugabe auch Dinge schnell schlechter werden. ^^
    Aber dafür must Du eben ein Gefühl entwickeln. Das ist reine Erfahrungssache. Die Möglichkeiten die Du jetzt hast haben sich jetzt potenziert. Das muss Dir klar sein. Zu Anfang erkennt man das gar nicht! Das ist ein Vorteil, kann aber gerade zu Anfang auch sehr ermüdend und brutal vielfältig sein. Die Kunst ist es sich erst mal auf das Wesentliche zu konzentrieren. Dafür ein Vorschlag zum Vorgehen das sich bei mir bewährt hat:

    Erstmal Stomps, Delay, Reverb, kaum oder gar nicht zu berücksichtigen!


    0. Rig ziehen, der Deiner Denke nahekommt.
    1. Amp einstellen. EQ, Compressor, Gain usw. Aber im Rig speichern!
    2. Cabinet evtl. nachregeln, wenn besser. Aber ebenfalls im Rig speichern!
    3. Erst dann den Output, also den 4er EQ betätigen, falls noch sinnvoll.
    4. Das Eingangs-Volumen nachjustieren und möglichst ohne gelbe Leuchte spielen.
    5. Erst jetzt an die Effekte gehen, wie Stomps und Delay etc.


    So gehe ich mittlerweile vor. Das ist für mich die effektivste und schnellste Methode. Wird ein Sound auf dem Weg 1.-5. nichts, dann ist er erfahrungsgemäß auch nichts. Dann ist er Müll, auch wenn er im ersten Moment gut kam. Man braucht für diese Erkenntnis etwas Erfahrung, aber das wird schon. :thumbup:

    It is more important to rename the Wahs accurate in the various models of the brands so they can be recognize quickly.
    Are there variations in a model of a brand I suggest this with 1, 2, 3, 4 to mark them in this short way until the software developers of Kemper have made it possible with a animated body text to allow more
    characters.
    More important than our names are the exact names of the devices. :thumbup:

    Mal ein grundsätzlicher Hinweis:
    Viele Rigs, die Du Dir ziehen kannst sind Studio-Rigs. Leider geben das viele Leute nicht an.
    Achte bitte darauf dass Du Dir nicht solch ein Rig lädst und dann über die Röhre und zusätzlich noch ins Cabinet bläst. Das kann nur schiefgehen!
    Ich justiere jeden(!) wirklich jeden Rig für mich nach.
    Dazu habe ich im Kemper eine Studioeinstellung (inEar, bzw.Kopfhörer) abgelegt.
    Zwischen Studio und Deiner Möblierung liegen Welten!
    Ich würde Dir empfehlen folgendes zu versuchen:
    Transistor-Endstufe (ja genau ;) ) leihen und dann mal durch Dein Cabinet fegen. Du wirst den Unterschied hören.
    Zusätzlich würde ich @Ingolfs Rat mal antesten und besagte Box ebenfalls mal über das Wochenende leihen.
    Und bevor Du den Toaster anwirfst: Schmeiß erst mal alle Rigs raus, wo "Studio" drinsteht. Dann bist Du schon mal ziemlich nahe dran.
    Dann mal im Output grundsätzlich nachjustieren, bis Du den Eindruck hast: Aha! 8o
    Und dann mach Dich mal daran die einzelnen Rigs so zu justieren, dass aus dem Aha! ein Oho! wird. 8|
    So würde ich mal vorgehen.
    Und ich wäre überrascht, wenn Dein Mesa Dual (schönes Ding, gar kein Thema) noch ein Jahr in der Ecke steht um dann in der Bucht zu sein. Das sehe ich änlich wie @Eltzejupp
    Zumindest versuche es erst mal mit einer ganz einfachen Transistor-Endstufe an Deinen Schrank. Wenn das besser wird mach den Rest. Wird! Bin mir sicher. ;)

    Ja! Da mussten wir übrigens alle durch.
    In einem Jahr hast Du Sounds so bearbeitet, dass sie niemand anderes hat. Und Du wirst sie kackegeil finden. Musst allerdings erst etwas rumprobieren. ;)
    Von der Kienspanfackel zur LED ist ja auch ein gewisser Schritt. ;)

    I agree with @Sharry completely. Especially the Wah Wah-Tread let rise a sense of community by own input.
    In my humble opinion you should your appreciate in this way because this is an example how community grows with experiences, exchange and additionally with nice communication.
    That can't be a disadvantage for Kemper and newcomers, if they are well received in the community in this way, or see that the community works in this way.


    I understand your concerns. I understand your reminder to Monkey and me. I think that's also right. No problem.
    But if you want a pure problem query forum (like you repeated said), then you don't understand your customers and the possibilities of this forum.
    So we will have to approach us. Monky and I less smirking. You with less straight thinking.
    This is happend if we do something friendly to each other. ;)
    Shouldn't be a problem for us all. ^^

    It's not my Gibson LP Std. Actually my Burny RLC-65 '60 VH-1 Custom I bought in Winter. It's from 1981 / 82. The VH-1 Pickups getting a high output, too. But they are not activ. I'm not a friend of aktivs. To smooth, to unemotional and only power.
    If she were a horse, then an Arab.
    If she were a cat, then a leopard.
    It's possible to get them sometimes for under $600 on ebay. Money well spent without loss of value.
    But I have to wait: Today I shot a Greco EGF 900 in Tokyo for only $575. 8o
    Never played it. Maybe that is my new Girlfriend. ;)
