Oh, also, Purecab is on by default is the output in studio mode.
Make sure this is off.
That sounds weird. So you are saying that the merge function affects the amp part as well?
You can try this with any direct amp profile.
Merge it with any studio. I know the match isn't the same but that shouldn't effect the outcome. The data for the direct part is set by the original direct amp profile.
Note high gain is where you can really hear the difference.
Ah, didn't noticed the "DA". The other 2 new profiles with DA in the name have a cab too (Savage pack).
Ok, I checked them. 18 is the DA profile. The correct sound of the DA profile is with the cab off. I guess having the cab there gives the DA profile a different sound to try through a cabinet but it is there by unknown means.
DA MV 1 and 2 are the same DA profile but with different cabinets added for testing.
Most of the profiles in these updates are test profiles I have done over the last 6 months or so. I thought it was time to drop them as some my find something they like in there.
Thanks again for bringing it up so I can get the info on here for others who may be curious.
Thanks for the updates!
But what's wrong with the new LRS SVG CHL DA 18 profile? Chainsaw massacre? This is the first profile, where cab turned off is less strident
Oh! Thats odd, DA shouldn't have a cab on it. Sometimes the Kemper gets it wrong. I will take a look. Thanks for pointing it out
Waiting for the Newest Slodanos to hit the profiler companys as well. if you guys do one im sure i will get it instantly.
PS the legend Said V4 was already in my rig manager...dates show 2019-12-21? but modified in Jan 6th
Should i change file name?
Thanks for pointing this out. The Legend file has been update with the new files. Apologies.
For the SLO, Maybe I should go with the new model...
Do we know for certain, that the amp part of DI and merged profiles are 100% the same? What really happens, when the merge button is used? Can we be sure the amp part is 100% unaffected?
When I do a merge, da and studio profile set the studio and merged sound very similar while the da and the merged with the cab off do not sound that similar. For this reason I prefer to use DA profiles.
Updates added for the following:
Is there an output eq active? Maybe low and high pass?
One thing to try is hit initiate globals in the system menu. This resets all parameters to stock, even non user accessible settings.
Note you will have to reset your switches etc if you have any and always do a backup first.
Kinda curious about the be evolved who is doing the mods on the amp that your profiling
Hi, it's a local tech that fixes our amps.
I let him know what I'd like to do based on research and he makes recommendations and we go from there.
With the BE100 I wanted more control of the lows, highs and gain structure. I always try to do the mods in a way that they are defeatable via switches or go with pots that can get the original value with extended ranges.
So far I've been super happy with the results.
Considering doing the Archon or Komet next.
Those latest unchained profiles sound great for me. The ones with the 414 added to the dynamic mics sound positively huge. Has this amp had some mods too?
Glad you like them
The DVL is all factory. It does have a 68 mod mode which is what these latest profiles are of.
Doing one more mod to the BE100 now, it's a tone stack mod. Will be doing an update to the BE Evolved pack when done.
The Peavey 5150 mod came out great. Will release a new pack for it at some point.
I like the 414 quite a bit also.
As of today, I can say after trying many platforms that your profiles are the best by far, since they have a lot to choose from and to everyone's taste, but you lack a very important reference amp such as a Soldano SLO100, since it is one of the precursors of the sound that we all like, like Mesa Boogie or Peavey.
If possible, I would like you to use your magic with the profiles on a Soldano SLO100 that will surely end up becoming one of the best packages you have, although your platform is already the best, at least for me.
Keep up your great work, do the Soldano or not!
Thanks much for the kind words, it means a lot.
I have been very close to purchasing a SLO100 many times. It's only a matter of finding the right one.
At this point I have been considering if I should get the old or new version?
I do say that the Serenity Gain pack is pretty similar though it has EL34 power tubes and is much more versatile.
Just in time for the weekend the Unchained pack v14 was uploaded!
V14 added 10 studio profiles of the 68 mod mode using a 1961a cabinet with a V30 mic’d with a vintage Unidyne III 545s, MD421 II and 414xls.
Kinda fitting as we just had a Derecho come though devastating our city and much more. Been without power for 6 days now.
So let The Storm get more brutal:
