Same behaviour here ... Maybe, they are working on the API side, I'll check again tonight.

Even if the guitar/strings/pickups are not involved in the profiling operation itself, you have to keep in mind that this profiling operation "copies" a sound chain (amp/cab/mic) with its settings. So far before profiling, you set up your chain with your guitar. Put another guitar/strings.pickups, fingers, players on this real thing adn the settings won't suit all the time. You will be the same thing after profiling. Some profiles makers have understiid that, and provide profiles according to guitars (mainly strat/single coil and LP/humbucker).
I've never be fond of "tone matching" profiles because if they often fit well in a mix, they do not often sound well for live/gig.

Since the last RM update, i haven't been able to find the folder anymore. Have they moved it somewhere else ?

I agree that a complete editor is not "mandatory" (even if i think that would be nice). But allowing to manage stomps presets and cabs and allowing to manage/create/setup performances is a must-have feature !

This the "direct edit" option in the system menu. When selected, pushing stomp buttons goes directly to edit mode, and you have to use On/Off button to enable or disable it

I think it is E Minor

Hi,
All database files from RM are stored in %appdata%/Kemper amps/Rig manager. Just save those files.
-
this won't work too well, since deactivating the cab automatically toggles the CabDriver.
this is why there is a difference, it's not due to the conversion process of Cabmaker.sorry, but i don't understand the "cabdriver" stuff. Can you explain a little bit deeper ?

Hi,
You should take a lot to this stuff : http://redwirez.com/mixir2.jsp. This is a IRs Loaded VST, that allows to mix up to 32 IR with a control on the path (serial or parallel). Furthermore, once you get the setup you like, you can export a IR of this IR mixing.
This is how i use it:
- disable kemper cab
- add a FX loop behind the stack
- entering in my DAW and returning in the kemper with the mixIR2 VST in between
- I select some IR (and i can hear the result directly)
- exporting the IR and conversion wiht the cabmaker toolBecareful, there is a slight difference between the result through the VST and the converted IR (with cabmaker).

I think the approch of amp sim (VST or maybe (probably) AXE-FX) where they build the simulation from HW schematic or by comparing signals measured directly on the hardware could be assimiled to "copy" of real piece of hardware. They try to recreate the same behaviour of knobs, settings ...
In the case of the kemper, this is only a snapshot of a rig. The "tonestack" is just a EQ block and doesn't react as its hardware counter part. -
Even though I expressed my disappointment (bugs, lot of features missing), I must emphasize that "loader via USB "and connection to RE" features are a dream together. Now, I send sevreal minutes everyday to test new prfoles from! RE. It is easy and quick!
Thanks for That.

I send him a PM.
BTW, thanks for the private message enabling ... missed that

I don't find it ... On his thread, he provided his latest backup (from 14th fev 2014)

Where is the "Starting Pack" from Maurizio ?
I seen early on the day on my iPhone a thread about the great "Starting pack" from Maurizio (he updated it), and i can't find it anymore ?

The "problem" is when you swap the cabinet, the sound of the preamp is changed (removing the old unexisting cabinet).
Take an impulse and convert it to a kipr file, and compare the sound of the DI (with the CAb ON) into a IR loader (and the original impulse) and the sound gotten by swapping the cabinet to the converted IR. The sound is quite different.
I think a good feature should be to provide a way to createor to specify that the profiling is a preamp only, (or maybe a poweramp + cab only).
