Die Lösung nutze ich auch. Im Notfall kann ich direkt ein Kabel vorne anschließen ohne irgendetwas umstecken zu müssen. Klanglich macht es für mich keinen Unterschied. Und das Reserve Kabel bleibt immer im Rackdeckel griffbereit.

Man sollte nur aufpassen dass man seinem Mitmusiker nicht mal schnell seinen Tuner zur Verfügung stellt und dann vergisst das Kabel wieder abzuziehen. Ein riesiger Schreck mit anschließender Fluchorgie bleibt einem dann erspart

Im relatively sure this has been mentioned before, but it would be awesome if this could be implemented somewhen in the future.

The possibility to profile a pedal only and save it, share it and tweak it way more than normally possible is really interesting.

From a technical point of view it should be possible without problems i think. At least for Distortion pedals. Other effects would be great too

Who would find such a feature useful and use it?

Wenn der Laptop primär zuhause genutzt werden soll aber auch unterwegs würde ich die Option einer Docking Station ins Auge fassen. So kann alles verkabelt bleiben und das leidige ein-/ausstecken der gesamten Peripherie entfällt.
Docking Stations gibt es zumeist eher für die Business Klasse, bzw. Workstations. In die Richtung würde ich auch gehen.

Ebenfalls finde ich es angenehmer auf 2 Monitoren zu arbeiten, das ist mit einem Dock m.M.n. am saubersten zu realisieren, zumindest was die Verkabelung angeht. Ebenfalls finde ich einen 17" Monitor am Gerät selbst für längere Sessions anstrengender als einen (oder 2) 24"+ Monitor.

Ansonsten schließe ich mich meinen Vorrednern an und sage SSD als Systemplatte + 16GB RAM sollten schon drin sein. i7 ist nice-to-have, aber nicht zwingend nötig. Für reines Recording ohne große Effekt und Plugin Spielereien reicht aber schon ein Gerät mit simplerer Ausstattung. Um also deine Eingangsfrage zu beantworten: Ja, auch der Aldi-Laptop wird funktionieren. Wenn du längerfristig planst das Setup auszubauen und vielleicht doch noch andere Aufgaben (Bild oder Videobearbeitung) dann macht es vielleicht doch eher Sinn in Richtung der "besseren" Hersteller zu schauen.

Je nach Budget lohnt eventuell auch ein Blick in die Gebraucht-Ecke. Geräte mit denen ich sehr gute Erfahrungen machen durfte waren die Workstations von Dell und HP. Das ist aber natürlich eine Frage des Budgets.

Die Wertung gut/schlecht ist immer rein subjektiv. Das schöne ist doch dass man eigentlich keine Grenzen mehr in seinen Soundvorstellungen haben muss. Wenn ich einen AC30 zu einem Highgain Monster ummodeln will dann kann ich das im KPA nachträglich tun, und das Resultat ist bestimmt nicht schlecht. Genauso wie ich nachträglich an einem für mich schlechten Profil so lange rumtweaken kann bis es passt.

Das war mein Ansatz um zu sagen ein Profil, dass viel Nacharbeit verlangt um gut zu klingen ist dann eben "schlecht". Zumindest für mich. Wenn ich ein Profil eines Rectifiers aus dem RE hole dann erwarte ich eben auch diesen einen Sound. Wenn dann aufgrund falscher Mikrofonierung oder anderer Kuriositäten in der Signalkette ein Profil dabei herauskam das mit dem Amp nichts mehr zu tun hat dann verdient es auch nur bedingt einen Namen der darauf schließen lässt dass man einen fetten Rectifier Sound bekommt. Das ist dann vielleicht auch die Enttäuschung auf der Seite des Users der sich das Profil unter falschen Erwartungen heruntergeladen hat, und deshalb würde der User das Profil wahrscheinlich auch als schlecht betiteln.

Soweit stimme ich dir zu SKL, aber beim Punkt "Qualität" gehen die Profile doch schon sehr auseinander.

Ich habe im Moment ein Profil eines Koch Supernova dass ich auf die Schnelle im Proberaum erstellt hatte. Der Besitzer des Amps hat im AB Vergleich (Der aufgenommenen Spuren wohlgemerkt!) Direkt, völlig erstaunt, gesagt: "Das ist mein Amp!" Auch im Hörvergleich der beiden Spuren war mit minimaler EQ-Nachregelung

Da hat das Erstellen des Profils auf die Schnelle ein relativ gutes Ergebnis hervorgebracht. Das trifft leider auf eine Vielzahl von Profilen im RE nicht zu. Da wird eben auch auf die Schnelle ein Mikro vor den Amp geklatscht und das Profil erstellt. Das mag für den Ersteller in dem Moment ein gutes Resultat geworden sein für jemanden der selbst schon einen Amp abgenommen hat ist das dann aber eher enttäuschend.

Tatsache ist aber dass ein richtig abgenommener Amp nochmal bedeutend besser klingt als ein laienhaft mikrofonierter. Die Unterschiede in der Mikrofon Platzierung sind schon sehr gravierend. Wobei "besser" auch immer relativ zu sehen/hören ist. Was für den einen passt könnte dem anderen schon wieder nicht passen. Da spielt auch viel persönliches Empfinden mit rein.

Für mich ist ein Profil dann gut, wenn es keine Nachbearbeitung mehr erfordert. Wenn das Profil schon so erstellt wird, dass der Equalizer keinerlei Nachjustierung mehr braucht, ist es in Ordnung. Die Diskussion ob der Kemper irgendwelche Copyrights verletzt ist für mich völlig am Thema vorbei.
Generell wird nur eine Momentaufnahme des Verstärkers nachgebildet. Diese Momentaufnahme erfordert eben Zeit und Know-How sowie ein gewisses Maß an Equipment. Und genau diese Dinge werden bei den professionellen Profil-Erstellern auch bezahlt in meinen Augen. Und das ist völlig legitim.

Die beiden Kritiker (vorallem Stahlverbieger) scheinen auch sehr viel Halbwissen und Hörensagen als Fakt hinzunehmen und darauf begründen sich ihre Aussagen.
Die Hersteller der Verstärker an den Verkäufen der Profile zu beteiligen ist für mich das selbe als wenn in Zukunft Hersteller von Digitalkameras Anteile von Fotografen erhalten würden. Oder, ganz weit hergeholt, eine Baufirma Anteile an den Baggerhersteller abgibt... Die Diskussion ist irgendwie unnötig.

Ich will hier mal wieder ein Update nachliefern.

Mittlerweile war ich mit meiner Band im Studio um die erste EP einzuspielen.
Als Amp kam ein ENGL Savage zum Einsatz und für die Gitarrenparts durfte meine China-Gurke herhalten. Weshalb das erwähnenswert ist? Mein Co-Gitarrist spielt eine Shecter Keith Merrow Signature für den 4-fachen Preis und die klang (O-Ton Produzent) "hohl". Den Gesichtsausdruck meines Band-Kollegen werde ich so schnell nicht vergessen

Für Hörbeispiele in den gängigen Streamingportalen (Spotify, Deezer, etc.) nach Bulletrail suchen.

Maybe i didn't get you right, but what is the problem with the ability to use 4 expression pedals of your choice with the remote?
of course its not built inside the remote itself, but that gives you many more ways to position the pedal.

You can assign them to various parameters and even use the toeswitch function (if it's there).

I would highly recommend the following:

- Rack Version
- SKB Shallow 4U
- Rack Panel with 12 slots and the needed connectors moved to the front of the rack.

If you go this way you have a few advantages:

1. weight - the SKB with the rack should be much lighter to carry around than the Thon case which is made of heavy wooden material, even with the option to place the remote in the back lid of the skb as somebody used to do here.

2. no need to use the connectors on the KPA that much. Especially in case of the remote port in the back there seems to be some premature wear in the connector so that a rack with a cable routed to the front would help avoid this problem (if there really is a problem) + you can also put a POE injector in the back of the rack to have some additional cable lenght.

3. Place the Rack and plug it in... Can´t imagine a simpler setup without ever reaching for the back

4. an overall future-proof solution. If you ever plan on updating your gear with some rack components you can simply do that. Just put the rack panel away and you have place for a tuner, wireless, effects-processor or whatever you may need. If you need more place for bigger processors, just replace the rack.

I am using this for quite some time and i couldn´t be happier with it. The Rack is easy to carry and relatively small. I use another cheap case from Stagg which costs about 25 EUR and fits the remote + cable perfectly. This way it is so easy to move everything from home to rehearsal and back. In my opinion, nothing better and easier to handle!

Letztes Jahr an der Musikmesse hatte ich CK auch darauf angesprochen und er meinte dass die Box nur zu Werbezwecken gebaut wurde und es für Kemper keinen Sinn macht in diesen Markt mit einzusteigen.
Es gibt ja genug Anbieter die sehr hochwertige Boxen vertreiben, auch mit Custom Optionen.

Wobei eine aktive Version mit Breitband Lautsprechern schon ziemlich genial wäre.

I completely agree with this.

No company wants to pay the fees when there is no real benefit. After most of the relevant news are presented at a fair with international interest there is no need to do that again this short time after when everybody already knows whats going on.

After the announcement that the Musikmesse 2016 was completely open to the public last year there were some fears that this concept will ruin the Messe once and for all. I tried to think positive and look forward to an interesting new concept, but after some brands announced that they won´t even show up this year. I think i won´t either.

Last year i hat the opportunity to visit the Musikmesse on the first day when it was only open to merchants and professionals. I liked it much more than the usual overcrowded fairs. I have to admit that this was my first visit there, but as i heard from many people, the days when it is open to the public are much more crowded.

Personally i hope that they will find a concept for the next years that fits both, the visitors and the exhibitors. But lets see how this year will be, maybe we´ll be surprised in some positive way...

Die Preissenkung finde ich super. Aber generell finde ich die Remote immer noch zu teuer. Die 50,- Rabatt wären bei der Early Bird Aktion auch gut angekommen

Das wäre damals auch mein Plan gewesen wenn ich mir das FCB zugelegt hätte... Ich persönlich nutze es einfach nicht. Von daher könnte ich mit der Entscheidung, gegen ein integriertes Pedal in der Remote, nicht zufriedener sein.

I had a PolyTune in the effects loop for some time, but after all i didn´t use the the polyphone feature that much.
But as an option in the tuner menu, it would be a very nice feature.

If i got you right, you will use the second Kemper as a backup. So you have to unplug the remote (or better the cable that goes to the switch) only when the first unit fails.

In this case i would use a patch panel and route all the connections to the front of the rack. So the only thing you have to do is to switch the jack. I am not 100% sure if the remotes will get in sync suddenly after you unplugged the first Kemper and plug in the second. But i think they will restart automatically as soon as they recognize the connection.

I would recommend to contact Kemper support, they can answer your questions 100% sure.

A nice feature, not to question that. But i hope there will be some more. We will see...

I would use the effect return. So you only use the Poweramp of the Guitar Amp if you use the regular input you also get some of the preamp color if you know what i mean.

For the regular signal to FOH you should go directly into the mixing desk. But i think this one was clear

Ich habe den Warp7 Head jetzt auch noch bekommen (hatte den Amp als gesamtes gekauft) und habe ihm eine Chance gegeben.
Kaum zu glauben was aus der 100W Transe tatsächlich rauskommt. Sowohl mein Co-Gitarrist als auch ich selbst waren mehr als positiv überrascht.
Der KPA am Effect-return mit -7db ergibt ein schön druckvolles Klangbild.
DAS hatte ich absolut nicht erwartet nach dem missglückten Test mit der PA Endstufe.

Netter Nebeneffekt in Verbindung mit dem SKB Shallow Rack: Das SKB rastet perfekt auf dem Amp Tragegriff ein, steht also sehr stabil

Ich kann also das Warp7 Halfstack durchaus als Verstärkungslösung für den Proberaum empfehlen. Vorallem gebraucht Preis-/Leistungstechnisch eine sehr gute Option.
