Thanks for the info!
Yeah, I wasn't really thinking you mic'd the monitors, I was just wondering in general what the guys with mad chops use to monitor their stuff...
-
OK, good stuff Ingolf!
From what my google-fu tells me, that one is fan cooled. How loud is it? Usable for "bedroom" jamming or does it need to be cranked to cover the fan noise?
I'm quite sure this has all been covered ad nauseam around here but as a noob I'm simply overwhelmed by all the information available...
-
Mine has a regular flathead screw.
-
What monitors are those?
-
There's a screw at the wide end of it, just unscrew it and Robert's your mother's brother...
EDIT: just noticed you're talking about the rack. I see no reason why it would be different on the toaster, check it out and let us know.

Would a passive CLR be a bankbreaker for you? It's the best I can think of, and if you are in Europe it would be a real bargain
Anything Atomic I always felt was beyond my means but admittedly all the references to it were to the powered box so I didn't look into it at all. Care to elaborate how's that a bargain if I'm in EU (which, incidentally, I am )? All the prices I see are in $ which usually means shipping+import duties.
Also, this is quite discouraging
"EU, UK and Scandinavian requests will start being filled by mid February."Anyway, sad to say, forget that a linear cone in a box makes a linear cab. You'll need at least two transducers, you'll need to calculate the resonance frequency of the box in relationship with the amplitude response of the transducers and a lot of other things.
The world would otherwise be full of linear cabs, while in fact they all sound differentOh I do realize that. As with the poweramp I'm looking for a bang for a buck, not really the best absolute solution. I'm a bedroom player and the money is tight so I'm looking for "Ambrosi equivalent" in the cab world. Something worth spending money on, but not necessarily powerful enough to play Wembley. Something that can do Kemper (and Ambrosi amp) justice without costing an arm and a leg. I don't play for thousand folks every weekend but at the same time I don't want to significantly limit my own experience if a little research can get me most of the way to the solutions costing many times over.
-
OK, so anyone got a tip on a 1x12 cab that won't break the bank (already broken by Kemper purchase, think all the king's horses and all the king's men) and is as linear and frfr as it gets realistically?
I remember reading folks changing speakers in TM60s but when this thing happens I'll need something without a poweramp. -
I know man, that was just wishful thinking on my part.... having finally found what seems to be a perfect solution for me, cut me some slack for jumping up and down with my hands in the air going "oooh! oooh! oooh! here! here! gimme! gimme!"
Whenever this thing happens, I'm all in. Thanks for putting in the effort, much appreciated!

Andrea took some more time to investigate further, since several Kemper users asked for a stereo version and a more powerful version as well. He's also considering a class-D option for the SPL diehards
Anyway, I hope to be able to give those who are interested some official news before Christmas, maybe in a different section of the forum
Now that'd be a swell xmas present, 4sure!
Stereo, mono, more powerful, less powerful, diy kit, whatever! Just let us have it!!! -

Andrea is trying to keep it under 200 € actually. A further possibility could be to send the parts and have them assembled locally. But let's talk privately about this if you're interested. This is also very appealing. I'm into DIY somewhat and while I never actually handbuilt a tube amp (those voltages scare the bejesus out of me and I know a thing or two about voltages), I do build all my pedals myself. This would make a nice project if complete units ultimately prove to be too scarce or expensive.

I'm betting if this poweramp Gianfranco is now testing makes it to the commenrcial market the 150 Euros will turn into 250 Euros when final calculations are done...good price maybe in Europe, buy too high in SA, unfortunately.
I'd still gladly fork over 250eur instead of 400... It's pretty much a difference between me having a poweramp for my toaster and me not having a poweramp for my toaster.
I'm really hoping this sees the light of day, if only in limited quantities for the forumites.

I don't know if its already been mentioned, but ISP make a great little stereo power amp called a stealth, it's about $500 here in Australia. It's stereo and runs class a/b. I've seen someone with it fitted to their Kemper toaster, not heaps neat but is at least compact and by all accounts loud and nice sounding
ISP Stealth costs about the same as the Camplifier 290 over here... certainly breaks my bank.
