Thanks guys. I usually have midi ox/yoke running on the midi thru of the Kemper to change pc messages to other stuff driving some other midi gear from my fcb1010.
So if I have a Kemper remote I can still enjoy the benefits of controlling my existing midi gear?

Anyone know if it is possible to relay a midi prog change (or any midi data whatsoever) upon selecting a new rig in performance mode.
Not talking midi thru data from a pedal, unless its the Kemper remote doing its business.Looking for a way to trigger other midi gear upon rig-change without the need for an additional midi controller, or doing it with just the Kemper remote (which i dont currently own)
thanks midi-heads!

I'm aware fragments of this topic are covered here and there in the forums, but i hope someone can give me a little summary of what midi functions i could send out of the KPA if i bought the Kemper remote, ie, CC, note-on/off, prog-change, etc, etc
thanks -
Here's some profiles, although they are full with cab.
Sounds of the 90's: Marshall JMP1 midi preamp assorted profilesthink the got put in the rig exchange too.
Any use...? -
Forgot about this one- it's going back a while, but YES, still on my "that would be useful" list

Cheers for the comments all. Reassurance from the community. As I said not critical and not worthy of a firmware update but something that could be addressed in the future.

This might be intended in the design but when i have a twang in browse mode (usually home practice/ non-gig scenario) i usually just power on and off into browse mode (sometimes venture in to performance mode though usually leave this for live gigs)
When i power up the unit starts back at the first rig (browse mode), although whatever filter i left it in "favourites" "sort by name" gets retained.
Performance mode is not an issue. The unit always remembers where i was last, even after powering off/onIts only a minor inconvenience but would be nice if the Kemper retained its last used rig in browse mode too.
Is it me or do others find this too? -
Strangely enough this is the 3rd time it has happened. I may have knocked the button , but don't recall doing so.Could be a feature request to change the switching from the 440Hz for tuning over to the RIG up and down arrows .That way it would need to be deliberate if you wanted to change it.
Or request the lock feature to apply to the tuner ref freq? -
I'd love to see you doing this every two minutes...
Its not a trick I choose to do on stage. my best licks usually occur without an audience'

I used to get this on an old Yamaha pacifica.. The rubbing of my hand against the scratch plate whilst strumming up and down built up a static charge on the scratch plate. Remember when you used to rub a balloon on your head as a kid? Or the nylon-stick rubbing experiment at school? I could discharge the static by touching a metal part of the guitar or touch the pickups. (Or holding some earthed metal work prevented the build up of static, just as described in the OP). Took me ages to find this out.
A solution I found was to wet my hand a bit (licking the side of my hand was enough) to prevent the build up of static. The other solution I used was to stick aluminium (or aluminum to our USA friends) adhesive tape on the scratch plate to provide an earthed conductive barrier that stopped the static. It looked awful but done the trick. Perhaps changing my clothing or better still the material of the scratch plate would cure it. Damp sweaty hands may be useful in this scenario too as static likes dry conditions. On the other hand I may be totally barking up the wrong tree but happy to share my war against static tactics.

There must be some users out there that still prefer the sound without pure cab?
i tried it with my IEMs and it wasn't for me. The FOH sound was not as warm sounding, imo, even with pure cab on setting zero and lacked the tonal-character I enjoy. I sometimes find it sounds nice at home noodling on my own but in the mix of a live band it lacks, for me.
Guess it's a personal thing. Great feature but best of all that it's user-choosable and not fixed. There's no accounting for taste and beauty is in the ear of the beholder Each to their own -

It is an MIDI indicator.
# means program change, the knob symbol means controller, a small c means "MIDI Clock". It is not in the documentation, yet.

Thanks for the info, Timo appreciated

Could the admins pass comment on these illusive symbols and their meanings, at all, please?
thank ya -
I wouldn't expect the progress bar to progress at a constant rate although I would hope to see it run from empty across to full, perhaps in spurts. It's not a problem, just an observation.
Like Raoul, I usually power up and go do another task whilst the valves warm up and, as I said, I know my approx boot time and so long as it works I'm happy. -
Should the boot-up progress bar "fill up" completely? (i've just jumped to 3.2.1 but did notice this before hand- its not critical but useful)
from power-up, i get the text on the screen followed by the boot progress bar that takes over 30 sec to fill about one tenth of the bar across the screen and appears to stall.
After 50 seconds my unit engages (ready to play) and boot-up is complete but the progress bar is no gauge nor guide as to the state of the boot progress. Is this normal?
I know my boot up time so my watch is a better guide than the KPA screen, but it's interesting to learn how others find theirs.
thanks all -
Sounds like the problem I had when I last done a FW update.

=SOLVED!= "Add rig to favourites" function: has it changed? -
Can anyone provide an explanation of these symbols?
i think the "hash" sign # signifies the presence of a midi signal but not sure about the clock/timer sign. see below:no sign, normal running (performance mode) Apart from the "E' to denote an edit.
[Blocked Image: http://thelookmusic.co.uk/kemper/midi_none.jpg]hash sign (midi data coming in?)
[Blocked Image: http://thelookmusic.co.uk/kemper/midi_hash.jpg]clock sign (not sure why this appears instead of the hash)

Each to their own. It's good that we have the variety of outputs and options to us. Must admit, I have an angled jack in my headphone socket so it's less protruding. Forward thinking of Kemper to allow for the many possibilities and setups to suit us users.
-
How about feeding your iem from the headphone output? It's stereo and can work as an independent output ( with space which makes iem more pleasing), although there is no eq on this output. I do this and it leaves my monitor out for my frfr unit and the main outs, mono (or stereo on the luxury occasions) for the foh sends.
gives total volume control over all outputs though I think it's best to leave the foh output levels fixed to be controlled by the desk.
i think a hardlimiter on the headphone output would offer some hearing protection for anyone using this method. -
This was mentioned quite sometime ago. Doesn't affect operation and is only a minor niggle, but i agree, it's not as it should be.
