Bruh, WTF is a "SERIOUS" recording (purposes)? Asking for a friend,
Preesh -
I enjoy making profiles I make sound better than the original.
-
this is a great idea. I like the idea of a klon with a dedicated mix knob too.
-
I set mine from 1.8-3.2 . I also man out the character knob in the cab section. The main output eq also effects the headphones.
Chairs!
-
I get that noise in the headphones with high gain.
-
character knob all the way up when using headphones, let's you hear the tone breath and "splay"
-
turning the high shift all the way up to get that "hairy" sound on high gain profiles and adjusting everything else accordingly
-
it would be cool to be able to put reverb in any block and put anything in the reverb block.
At least,
Just sayin... -
cool +1

I bought the pack and got to test them through my 4x12 yesterday, well done sir, well, done!
1. Didn't expect so many profiles for one pack for the price, wow
2. They sound great! I only got through about a third of them but 98% of them sounded bangin

All yall crack me up!
I was having issues with my powered toaster into a 4x12.
I used the monitor output eq and boosted the bass ( that thump) and the presence ( my sizzle ) and then everything was tone af.
I also did similar things in the main output eq section when editing profiles with headphones (beyerdynamics dt someting or another).
Would anyone like a sour patch kid?

it comes and goes, I made a thread about this but forgot to make an audio clip so thank you lol. I suspect it's a computer thingy.
-
mine does this in headphones as well

Respectfully, and regardless of what ever it's supposed to do, what is your experience with turning it? Did you turn it way up? Adjusting various parameters coinciding with it? In other words, are you playing around with it?
-
I do gear purging fairly often. I totally support this.
Play with it. See how you settle with your various gear.
IF you find in 3-6 months you aren't using it. Sell it.
If you are, keep it.
Sell gear you don't use. Let the "usefulness" be the guide.
Update, easiest 4cm method ever. And it's awesome. I used some preamp models in the helix as dist stomps for the kemper and it among other things sounded pretty amazing. The loop in the helix kept my kemper tone integrity intact and it was easy to a/b comparison what I thought I had made as decent helix sounds compared to kemper tones. There's a lot of useful possibilities here. Guess I'm gonna get a helix controller now.
-
Got one of these with a fender super sonic 60 combo in a trade, what to do now?
I suppose I could just use it as a 4cm with my Kemper but to be honest, with blending custom IR's in it, I can get some pretty sweet sounds. I keep a/b comparing it and the Kemper still wins but damn, the helix sounds pretty freaking good considering. It's almost like I've kinda missed that grainy digital-ness? Sounds a lot better than my hd500x ever did and the routing is insane.
Guess I'm wondering if getting the foot control and wiring everything up in 4cm mode plus making new presets is gonna give me a headache or a boner when I could just as easily use one or the other and that's the crisis, I kinda hate to think that I'd use just the helix on its own given the time and money spent with my Kemper. Tonal and gear identity crisis.
I feel most of you will tell me the obvious. "Dont be silly! Suck it up and do the 4cm or just use the Kemper and keep everything as it is."
Open to ideas and criticisms, chairs!
-
I know it's a long ways away but I've been enjoying the screen on my Helix rack A LOT! So, here's my 2 cents for whenever the Kemper 2 starts getting going. Can I also request a Kemper 2 as feature request (LOL)? Too soon, I know.
Probably also a good time to request for tighter knobs or at least a way to tighten them safely on our own.

green scream in front
Character knob 5.0
Studio eq after cab
Recti shaper after the studio eq with low low gain and +1 or more volume
Amp settings around noon on average
Eq stack may need extreme values. It's gonna take some time to find the right cab.
I have to convert my snapshots to actual rigs and I don't really feel like doing that right now, plus putting them in a zip folder, dropbox link etc.
The sound is hard to get and it's very similar in contour to the tone I was referring to that I posted a YouTube link to and then you offered no actual help and an insulting lame joke that's probably older than double the age of the tone that's seemingly elusive.
But it's all good, I'm still gonna try to help. I will throw every trick I can think of to try to make this work. Or! In my opinion, make it better than the original.
Any rigs I post will be a starting point, and there's a lot of them. You'll have to spend the time playing with them.
Oh and p.s. you'll have to probably turn off or down the gates, and ridiculous delay and reverb settings which are not subject for debate.
