I think this thread is gonna have a fairly short lifespan, as people get used to the new layout! As a rule people 'don't like change'. I don't mind it either way, looks a bit cleaner to me, but have no preference either way. Just reverbs next PERLEASE!

Admittedly, if Fractal want to endorse me, and give me a few units for free, I'd find room for them in my rack! After all, the more flashing LED's you have, the better you play right?
-
I do believe that the powered kemper output is only mono? I have an unpowered rack, stereo out to poweramp. Stereo out to 2 cabs. Stereo out to FOH! Best of both worlds!
-
No problem pal!
Thanks for letting me know!
-
Whereabouts are you based pal?
Any idea what postage would be?
-
I've heard them described as the 80's equivalent of "Crack Cocaine" for guitar! I used to use a Behringer Ultrafex to 'widen' my sound. Luckily I've managed to wean myself off it since getting a Kemper!

Next revision!

This is what a friend (electronic engineer, used to work for GCHQ, NASA etc... {really!} ) suggested:-
"Well...
You need to see how many Watts each unit consumes, (it should be printed on the back of everything. If something says it consumes 240Watts and Watts=Amps x Volts then presumably it draws 1amp so go with a 3 Amp fuse to give you some head room for inrush and surge etc.
I would have thought if it's effects and pre-amps then 3A would be plenty
If you've got a valve amp it might need a bigger one..."Went with 3A in the tuner & receiver, and 6A in the Kemper & Matrix in the end.
Didn't agree with my "fix-all" solution of wrapping the fuses in tinfoil!
-
Just surge protection really, though I'm lead to believe its to stop the cables overheating! I've been advised to go 3amps in all the individual plugs, though I do think the Kemper ships with a 6?
4 gang is 13A fused
Paranoia was running overboard when I was shortening the cables!
-
Pretty much, left to right though!
Clean, crunch, drive, "special" (depending upon song), lead.
I think of each performance as a suite of sounds for a song, and page up/down accordingly!
Rockin' on!
-
As the title really. Just shortened all my rack cables, and was wondering what rated fuses everyone runs? My rig is:
Line6 G90 into
Korg DTR 1000 rack tuner
And Kemper
Then Matrix GT 800 FXAny recommendations great fully received

Some really good EVH 5150 profiles available in rig exchange that sound good for 80's hair metal (at least to my ears!). If Satchel uses a 5150 III, its good enough for me I say!
-
@MetalMauce Here you go! Not the best photo, but you get the idea!
-
None to hand! I'll see if I can grab some tonite, but its a 'sandwich' of high density foam, used for seat pads at event venues, really dense!
-
@MetalMauce, Yeah! Plenty of grip. Its in a Gator 6 unit case, sitting on a Marshall cab. The foam is just soft enough to deform slightly around the cab feet recesses and the rack. Actually makes it less slippy than just the hard rack case on speaker tolex! You can actually buy 'anti-slip' mesh for additional grip... never bothered!
-
I was concerned with the vibration from low bass notes! I made a hard foam pad to cushion my kemper from the worst of the vibration!
-
I'm a Kemper user, come from an ADA +3TM modded preamp. *Love it to bits! If I had the spare cash, I'd buy an Axe (though I've never used one). Why? Cos it'd look bitchin' in my rack setup! hark back to the 80's with the fridges full of gear! Its all about the blinking lights! \m/ \m/ (*inject heavy dose of irony here)
Happy friday everyone!

EVH 5150 III profiles are my go to profiles for Rock/Metal... All seem good!

Read an interesting article the other week, where a big name music store in America was recommending people source 2nd hand models if they wanted a good Gibson, due to the build quality of the instruments they were getting on 'new' models. Seems the market has fallen out the bottom out of the 'new' Gibson market, and the second hand market is rocketing! Isn't there also some issue/difficulty with swapping the p/ups in a new Gibson? Soldered onto a circuitboard as opposed to just wired? VERY SAD!
-
I think I understand now! Since the cab volume migrated to stack, it will no longer just effect the output with the cab sim on! With the volume in the amp section, it effects both outputs, as their is no option to turn the 'amp' off (which would be pointless!) Can't help with a solution though, sorry!
