Thanks guys!
Sounds great, and seems to work fine! Love the look of the Kemper behind!
Are you the only Kemperian in the band?yeah, the other guy uses a Engl powerball2 I think.
Great! Bravo!
There is an Orange Amp close to your KPA. Do you use both or is it for the other guitar player?the orange is the bass players terror bass head

My band Japam and a song from our first gig. The Kemper rack worked great

Cheers guys! Currently working on a new recording...pretty happy with how it sounds!

Made a little teaser clip for my new band...Pretty keen to get out and play some shows with my power rack. Upgraded from the unpowered version recently and fell in love all over again.
Have a gander this is probably the heavier side of what we do

Is this really the case? It seems to me that there would be inevitable flaws in letting the Kemper decide at which point the amp ends and cab begins, but if you have personally tried taking different profiles where only the cab changes and compared them with cabs turned off and found the difference to be non existent I'd be interested to know. Proper cab separation makes sense if playing with IR's and swapping other pure cab profiles is something the user wanted to do with a degree of accuracy
Well it depends on how you are creating profiles. For my part, i like to set an amp to its sweet spot and only keep the variations in the cab section. This means you will have like 20 profiles that sound totally different over an FRFR but completely the same when using only the DI. Doesn´t make much sense in this case.
Other profilers keep the miking constant and only change the amp settings. In this case the new profile format makes much more sense.

Welcome man! Just out of curiosity, did you actually contact any shops or were you going on advertised prices when you made the decision to make your purchase overseas?
Hey Sam I'm a fellow Aussie and I'm also thinking of picking up a Kemper but can't afford the almost $3000 it's going to cost me! How long did it take to arrive from Thommen? I'm guessing they are good to buy from? They look like it.
hey I can get you one for a lot less in Australia , feel free to pm

Well I don't want any on cleans and as little as possible on any profile where I'm using the volume pot...but might have some heavier sounds that need a lot. When you turn the volume of the whole rig up past a certain point you might find it opening up a little unpredictably and need more...and at home through monitors, usually very little. Same sort of variations as reverb. I'm not sure what is so hard to understand. As good as the noise reduction is (gate speed should be adjustable, but that's another story), it's always sounds better to have less when you can, but it's not always possible.
-
So can reverb. That is not what I meant. You said you had a GT8? If it's anything like my old GT5, there was also a global noise gate, that worked the same as the global reverb. It was very handy indeed
-
on this topic, I think a global version of the noise gate at the input stage would be a welcome addition too, for the same reason...different room, different volumes etc
-
Yes!! So happy for this. I love that this company keeps improving an already excellent design based on user feedback. In the 4 months or so I've had mine, 75% of the things I have found to be lacking have already been addressed. It is literally nearly 100% perfect to me
-
Damn these are nice. I'll have to grab them for sure. Thanks!
-
Cheers...Getcha pull!!
-
Rough indeed! In the way it should be. What profile do you use on this recording?
That's interested how you used that shifted frequency center, i'd like to see the profile just to learn what you did there.
Here is my modified profile, feel free to download and tell me your thoughts. I decided not to upload to RE as it appears it would be a breach of the rules as I am not the "Creator".
Thanks "JSP" for the original, I love it!

An Ibanez with an Evertune? What sorcery is this? Is than an SA? (Nice production tone, BTW!)
-djh
HAHA cheers man. I've been gassing for an ET equipped guitar for ages and the Ibanez came up cheap so I thought I'd get it done and see what the fuss was about. It's pretty amazing...Sorcery is right! It reacts totally differently to bends though...Makes playing a riff like this a lot trickier that's for sure, let alone leads with big or fiddly bends
Hahaha, great video! RIP Dimebag.
Thanks man!
-
Yeah I'll upload it tonight...I can't see it being a problem if the original author is still in the tags yeah?
-
Thanks man. Believe it or not, it's a tweaked version of a profile from the line6 pod 500x hd rectifier sound that I found on the RE. I really like it! I changed the eq and a couple of other things and added a short analog delay on the Kemper with some modulation and shifted frequency center, to try and approximate a double track vibe from one guitar. Apart from that it has a tiny amount of both eventide ultra channel and waves Aphex exciter plugins on it. I can upload the profile, but not sure how that works if someone else is the original author?
-
It's a bit rough, and it all fell apart when I realised I never learnt the solo
RIP Dime, Thanks for the music!

If the sound you are hearing in your headphones involves stereo reverb or delays, try setting the output to "master stereo" and set it so the "space" parameter isn't set to headphones only
