Unfortunately, I am leaving Kemper world. As a totally blind user, I am tired of fighting with the software which doesn't play nice with my screenreader, tired of memorizing so many things, etc. I'm scaling back to a very basic, traditional rig. I am not saying this to badmouth the Kemper at all. I have never had so many great tones at my disposal! No doubt it is the perfect solution for many many musicians. And, can you name any other modeller introduced nine years ago that is still current, being updated and improved upon? Frankly, that is amazing in computing terms!

    For Sale: Unpowered Kemper Head

I'm in Canada, but will do what I can to keep shipping costs reasonable.

    BUMP

Just trying to keep this thread alive.

I sent a nice letter to Kemper yesterday, asking about the new editor and screenreader software accessibility. Hopefully they'll respond.

If anyone wants to add to the Google sheet that musicmad started, please do. Anyone can contribute.

Including myself, I know of two other blind people who have either borrowed or own a Kemper. If you know of any others, please point them here so we can pool our resources, talk to Kemper HQ in one voice, etc.

Honestly, I feel like five minutes in person with someone from the company, a Kemper, and a laptop running a screenreader, would cause the light to go on in their heads so-to-speak.

I just came across this, while looking through the Kemper firmware changelog.

    "UI to MIDI:

UI to MIDI allows to transmit all sound relevant parameters of the PROFILER user interface via MIDI."

That sounds potentially useful, re. in conjunction with a PC and screen-reading software.

Does anyone know more about this feature, what is or is not sent, and how to possibly capture the text?

    Joining this thread late...

    DamianGreda:

Thanks so much for that effects list! I'm saving info like this in a standard .txt (text file) for future reference.

    Nikolaj, musicmad:

I like your idea for a format for that effects table. That's a lot of typing though.

How can I make it worthwhile for you to create that? PM if necessary.

As for file formats, something basic and accessible, like .txt or .rtf, HTML, or something like an Excel spreadsheet would work.

    This community is great!!

Yes, sorry for replying to such an old thread, and thanks for getting back to me via e-mail.

I hounded Wix a little on Twitter, and it appears they recently changed their mind re. accessibility. Here are some links they provided:

    https://www.wix.engineering/bl…-of-making-wix-accessible

    https://www.wix.com/blog/2017/…r-wix-website-accessible/

    https://support.wix.com/en/art…or-screen-reader-programs

    So, that's all very positive!

As I said in my follow-up e-mail, my beef is with Wix, and not with you. :)

    Hi.

I'd love to buy some of your profiles, but your Website is 100% NOT accessible to screen reading software.

I'm blind, so I use software that reads the screen aloud. For some reason, all I get at your URL is:

    "

    gotprofiles

This site was designed with the .com website builder. Create your website today.Start Now"

Seriously. That's it. So, whatever tools you're using to build that site, they generate inaccessible results.

    Please see:

    https://www.w3.org/WAI/intro/wcag-new

but, something tells me you're not able to code HTML, PHP etc. there.

I love the profiles from Live Ready Sound, but I'm overwhelmed by all the choices in each pack.

For example, take the ENGL Savage pack. It's up to "version 9.1", some 140+ profiles split into 9 groups.

For those of us who can't see the Kemper display, we can only go by the file names when loading these things into Rig Manager.

Before I go contacting them, does anybody else see this as an issue, or do I just need to rename some of these, perhaps with fewer numbers involved?

Sometimes I'll notice "v30" in a name. ok, that's a particular cab. but this stuff isn't clear a lot of the time.

Look at these two file names and tell me if they are informative:

    DP 6160P 02P - 2017-08-13 15-59-12.kipr

    DP 6160P 02SV - 2017-08-13 15-57-13.kipr

Amending my opinion after much fiddling yesterday... I seem to like Pure Cabinet engaged but at minimum.

and because I'm usually sitting in the sweet spot where I mix and master, in an acoustically treated room, I've discovered that I like just a little bit of Space on both headphones and monitors... 1.5 seems to be where I almost sub-consciously notice it.

I'm curious to know if most of us use Pure Cab and the Air parameter to smoothe out/naturalize the sound.

Personally, I turned pure cab off, as I found it was making many profiles sound too similar.

the Air parameter I have set to headphones-only. I don't like what it adds to studio monitors.

Anyway, just wondering what others think. They're both very subtle, compared to the main amp and cab section controls.

"You have to use the Factory Rigs function in the system menu to load them after updating."

I don't currently have sighted help around, so could someone please answer the following?

Which page on the system menu contains this function?

After moving to this page with PGUP/DWN buttons, what do I press or turn next on the unit?

    thanks in advance.

I'm running the latest version of Windows 10 Pro.

Rig Manager informed me today that there is an update, version 2.1.61.

After I click to install the Rig Manager update, it is downloaded. But then, the following dialog opens. Closing it and re-running Rig manager gives me the same update notice, and I'm still at version 2.1.41. Is anyone else having this issue?

I'm a relatively new Kemper user. I've done nothing over the past couple weeks besides audition profiles from various commercial sites. So far, my favorite medium to medium-high gain tones are all from the new Choptones pack. They didn't ask me to post this.

My ideal tones have lots of mids, and just enough treble to cut, but no fizz and no flubbiness in the bass. That describes these profiles perfectly! Just perfect for my uses, and inspiring for me to play.
