Checking these out with the new delays - fabulous sounds. I am really appreciating the Ch1 and Ch2 Lo sounds with the delays - terrific textures with both SC and HB guitars. These profiles are really distinctive - not quite like anything else I can think of. Great job.

Hi Jesse,
Thanks for your efforts with this. The profile of that name still has time of upload = 22nd of June. I think you may need to rename the new version to get it onto RE.

Hi Jan - thanks for your generous gift.
If these are anything like as good as the ones you shared the other day these will be quite a boon. Looking forward to a pleasant afternoon with them.

These are a lot of fun - playing VH1 riffs on these is very convincing. Yet another excellent Marshall set from TJ.
-
Some very nice profiles in the Freebie set - thanks very much DWR.

I think you could experiment with input and gain levels and clean boosts in the stomp slots if you are looking for a tapping response that feels right to you. I am no expert on that technique so let us know how you go.

These are a good match for bridge HBs - which is what EVH used.
Any tips on the naming scheme? Some seem like shorthand for album names (1984 VH1 VH2 etc) but others I didn't recognise at all

Hi Jan. These sound great to me. A really nice range of tones from the Clean to the lead profiles - nothing I couldn't use in this whole set. The number 21 profiles are such a good match with an LP/335. Thanks so much for building and profiling these amps and sharing them here.

That Soldano profile with the Mesa OS w 102+57 mics shared here by DS is excellent. I have the Soldano Hotrod set including the original #8 profile with the 57 only with that cab and the more full frequency response with the ribbon mic in parallel is a nice contrast. It rounds out the tone really well - a better all round rock profile IMO.

While those developers packs are a little hotter than some I generally find that I do not experience clipping - it is obviously going to depend on how hot your input signal is though. Humbuckers with heavier strings pack a punch signal wise - even passive p/ups.

Some good recommendations for the ETX 12p in the Kemper gear show thread from earlier this year but I wondered if anyone has done a direct comparison with the 10p. 12p goes down to 65Hz and 10p to 85 Hz in the specs and is a little smaller and lighter - I wondered if the pattern observed with some of the other ranges where the 10" driver works better for guitar tones applies here. Anyone with experience feel free to chime in.

Thanks to Deadlightstudio for posting this profile - much obliged.

Thanks so much for the new profiles - The JJ100 gain 7 sounds superb with KPA cabs. I will have to try these driving an external cab.

Cool question!
We captured the room mic'ing the rear of the cab with a 121 or an 87. It gives to a little bit more of "fat".OK - thanks for the info. I might give that approach a try myself.
-
Extremely comprehensive set of profiles of this superb amp - cabs and mics wise. Just curious about the "Rear" mic mentioned. This was on 4x12 cab which is presumably sealed. Is the rear mic aimed at picking up the room from behind the cab or is it intended to capture the cab resonance?

Just thought I would give this pack another nod - a very impressive set of classic Marshall patches. I find they work well with both HB and single coils. The balance of bass and high end is perfect for me - plenty of balls in the bottom end but not dull in the least. With the mix of boosted and unboosted profiles and the CH1, CH2 and CH1+CH2 tones all covered I find these on a par with the best of the plexi style patches on offer elsewhere. A bargain really and - rest assured - I am just another customer with no connection to the vendor.

Yeah,I can do that.Maybe in a couple of days from now.
OK - cool!

Sounds amazingly versatile. Would you consider profiling the clean channel too at some stage? No doubt there are more goodies to be had in that box.

@mfolet
Thanks for these profiles. The Freidman JJ direct profile sounds excellent to me - my favourite of these - it kills with HBs and just about any cab I have tried. The SS and the JMP Voodoo 2 sound a bit drier and grainier with the same cab - probably could use a smoother cab. I find the SS suits me a little better with the gain backed off a tad.As for the JJ - what an awesome amp. The spanky clean channel sounds very impressive on the youtube demo too.

I tried to make a couple merged profiles but didn't like the way they came out. Need to go back to the drawing board and try again. Sounded ok through FRFR but direct sounded terrible. Tried with both a Neve RNDI and a Behringer GI100 but found the direct to cab sound really harsh and nothing at all like the actual amp through the same cabinet.
I'll keep trying and hope to get something better soon.
I wondered if this difference relates to the recording level of the direct profile - not sure what the ideal level is but if you recorded it pretty hot I would try repeating the DI profiling at 5 dB and 10 dB (say) lower and see how it turns out.
