i prefer managing everything with the KPArack itself. i play in 3 bands, so i use quiet a lot of different profiles/sounds and guitars as well, so i tried to break it down to 5 sounds for each band, what normally is clean, crunch, dist, lead I, lead II or anything close to that. that makes one performance. okay, sometimes you have to create another performance which doubles your work, but i guess if you're not the guitarist of the greatest-hits-of-all-time-cover-band, everyone should be okay with 5 (or even 10) sounds, that you can "edit" on the go with your stomp boxes...
depending on how many guitars i use for each band i duplicate the performances and tweak them just a bit for each guitar. benefit is you can create it on the go, during rehearsals f.e., which leads to the advantage that you can create a performance for your amp, your guitar, even the location you're in. because sometimes one venue needs less bass etc.
imho that is quiet manageable - nonetheless, there are better solutions (rig manager and notebook) and i totally understand your request on a inside-the-box-solution to ease your situation.
my newest approach is the following:
i "created" a super-mobile desktop computer, for i always take my ipad with me which i can now use as a primary monitor (duet display app) with my mac mini on which i installed logic pro x for midi commands and mobile recording and the rig manager as well PLUS the KPA manual if anything goes wrong
so i can pretty much handle everything, it's even smaller than most laptops, the only thing is that i always need a socket for powering it, but where my KPA is, there is a socket -
welcome!

the ear fatigue is not to be underestimated. everytime i'm browsing through all the profiles and find a good one, if the next one has more treble or clarity and you switch back - the first one sucks. but i guess that's not your problem.
i would try to tweak the sounds and check all your settings (output, eq) - if everything sounds bad or even the same, i think there should be a stupid mistake (no offense) maybe anything set up wrong.i'm sorry if i missed that, but do you experience the same with headphones or a cab or in a recording situation?
maybe it's the cab simulation (active?)i hope you'll get it right!

Guido what a great monster you have with the framus man, i used lead profile 3, with the down tune pedal you have with it on my 9 string,
you nearly blew my ass up to Germany from Aust man . DAM ..You heavy MOFO.
GREAT JOB MAN, i would not expect any thing less from you.
lead 3 kicks ass on a 9 string.Ash
i agree completely - besides it kicks ass on a 6 string in my case.

i spent 2 weeks with the kemper prior to the first show and had no problems. just check your output-settings - not only as mentioned before the vol.level but you can also define what goes out (amp only, +cab, +efx, etc.) on every specific output. just refer to the manual or the tutorial videos...
and even though it's a kemper, with your 2x12 cab it behaves like an amp - so no worries. do you use cab-sim with your cab or did you switch that off? -
full of anticipation for the framus!! just bought the xtc, 5150 and single rectifier - great work!

you are absolutely right. there are a lot more possibilities of positioning etc. i guess that's a philosophy-thing. i just considered to buy the remote but to get the equal out of it compared to the devices i already have, it would be 500 for the remote plus approx. 300 for the pedals... AND i like the pedals onboard - but that's just MY taste. nothing can slide away on stage etc. as i mentioned before i like to keep it simple. just the rack, the remote, the guitar. and not a pack full of pedals, cables, powersupplies...
