No problem, but if you decide to add the missing profile, that's good.

One more thing, I can't find the M-Plex D2 that is in the sound samples.
-
Thank you for the answer! I kind of guessed the reason, but this confirms my thoughts.
I've been also using that broad boost at 2k to bring the guitar up front.

Bert, I just bought your Pack 2 and I'm liking it very much.
I notice that most of the profiles have a Studio EQ. Is there a reason that you didn't "bake in" these EQ-adjustments? Of course the positive aspect is that one can change the EQ settings. Downside is that it eats up one effect slot. -

That's so funny man. You know in your post there are enough items for criminal complaint?
Not sure if this is humour or a legal threat. If it is the latter, I must say that things escalated rather quickly.
Quote from ChopTonesThere isn't anything so "exoteric" in the list of equipment we use, and to be honest we've got a lot more and well showed in a lot of pictures If you're not satisfied, come to our studio!
Thank you for the invitation, I would gladly visit you studio some day, not because I don't take your word for your methods, but out of general interest. -
We've got a several €k worth studio, with dozens of cabs, mics and cool preamps.
We've got the original thing for making profiles ,we don't need to use IR or stuff like thatOk, thanks for the clarification. The reason I asked this was that the variety of speakers and mics and the sound is quite similar to the RedWirez Big Box IRs that I have been using for years.

Very good. Thank you.
One question, are your profiles made with impulse responses or with "real" cabs and mics?
-
Studio EQ in the cab section would be very good. Or at least hi pass and low pass in the cab parameters.

Since OS 5.0 delivers Crystal Delays this request is no longer valid and @collintowne could (SOLVED) to the beginning of the thread title.
Probably not since shimmer is more like a reverb effect than a delay.
-
Perhaps not the brightest moment for Kemper. Although the test was a bit strange, meaning that it included the power amp in the IR. Still, KPA sometimes has trouble reproducing a tight bass and pronounced midrange.
-
Anyone have a chance to test the merged profile? Curious to hear some thoughts.
Thanks for the merged profile.
I think the first profile is a bit better. The merged seems to have a nasal mid frequency a little above 1kHz (?) that is not there in the first profile. -
Sounds very good @Webb.
If you do some more profiles, may I suggest that you make also one with a tad more 57, or what ever means you find the best to make a little brighter alternative for the Test01 profile.
And if you post the DI profile, that's excellent.
-
Are all your profiles made with the iso box?
-
To me it seems that the staff at Kemper have their hands full of work and maybe they should hire more people to speed things up.
-
Apologies for the delayed response. This DI profile also sounds quite light on the bass in my opinion.
The same thing as with the Mr. Dual profiles. However with the Mr. Dual, the whole merged profile sounds well balanced, but the DI is too thin and the Cab is too bassy. Once again in my opinion.
I have sometimes, when making a Merged profile, had similar phenomenon: the cab part sounds too bassy and hollow.
Or did you cut the excessive bass from the amp? I think that applying high-pass EQ on the cabinet would work better so that the DI profile wouldn't be so thin.On a side note, I got to audition one of DI profiles from Cili's upcoming Dual Rec with EL34s, and it sounds good to me. Meaning it has got a "normal" amount of bass.

Thanks for clarifying. I will definitely look into this. And I might just make a NEW Mesa Dual Rectifier pack. Do you have any other profiles from me?
EDIT: here's a DI profile from Mesa/Boogie MK IV please try it out and reply when you can.

What kind of cabinet is going to be used? I think that Petrucci uses 1x12 Recto cab nowadays.
In general, I like this meticulous approach. Same mics, same amp and same. Although this still leaves some guesswork: mic placement, mic blend and the eq applied to the mics. What happens in the studio will of course vary depending on the song, and live is a whole another deal. Nevertheless, I would be happy if the profiles would sound anything like in the Tones on Tour -video.

Which speakers were used with this pack?
-
Was there even triplets in the first place?

My bad, I misread your previous post.
