Just having some fun making another backing track.
Since getting RipX, I have been having fun making backing tracks that are fun to play along with.
This Tune is Stranger Stranger from the Bad Company Holy Water CD.
Bad Company features one of the finest voices in Rock, Paul Rodgers.
I ripped the Drum, Bass and Vocal tracks from my Bad Company CD using RipX.
I pasted them into my DAW and did all the guitar parts on my Kemper rack unit
I did two doubled rhythm tracks and one lead track
Yep, that's how someone else does it the way they like to do it.
I did two Joan Jett tunes using my Kemp Rack unit
I hate Myself for Lovin You and I Love Rock N Roll
Joan is one of my favorite Old time rockers
I used Ripx to rip the Drum, Bass and Vocal tracks from my CD
I did all the guitar parts

RipX will give you frequencies that sometimes crossover into the other stems that's why I asked.
Thanks, I don't do much with RipX except have it grab all the stems from a CD so I can load into my DAW and make backing tracks
Do you just take the stems that RipX makes or do you EQ some of the left over frequencies it leaves in?
RipX pulls out 5 stem tracks
Drums, Bass, Guitar, Vocals, Piano, Other
I drop those 5 tracks into my Daw
I did not do anything to the Neil tracks in this tune
I delete the tracks that I do not need, like piano and other if there is nothing useful on them
I mute the guitar track just in case I need to listen to a guitar part.
How about some Neil Young today?
I removed all the guitar parts from two Neil Young tunes using RipX
I did all the guitar parts with my Kemper rack unit
I double tracked with Two guitar sounds for the main rhythm
The cleaner parts were all done by morphing the same profile between cranked and clean
I combined Cinnamon Girl and Rocking in the Free world into one tune.

I bought two eminence 15 inch speakers
I will replace both speakers so both cabinets match
I have my contact at Sweetwater on the job
He is looking for suitable replacement for the blown 15 inch speaker
I would replace both 15 inch speakers so the cabinets match
He had some good points on what should be used for my application that I was not aware of
I could send the speaker off for repair, but I found out I am dealing with 150 watt speakers.
I am amazed it lasted 10 years.
That Crown amp is 1000 watts mono and 500 watts in stereo
Then what about the crossovers and other speakers?
How long until they take a dump?
So I am thinking that I either get two much larger speakers, or just get some FR PA speakers like in the link I posted above.
Any thoughts on those 500 watt Eminence speakers?
Or maybe I am better off just going for something like this?

I run my Kemper through a Tube pre amp and then a crown power amp in stereo mode
The Crown amp is hooked up to a pair of big pioneer speakers
My neighbor gave me the Pioneer speakers many years ago
They are a 6 way speaker with cross overs
I gave them a try and I like how they sound
I finally blew one of the 15 inch speakers and need to find a replacement
I would go ahead and replace both 15 inch speakers so they match
I would need a full range speaker that can handle 500 watts
I saw these Eminence speakers at Sweetwater and they are on Amazon also

Anyone has any feedback on those Eminence speakers?
Or can suggest another 15 inch speaker?
Thanks
Here's a couple shots of the Kemper, Crown and speakers
Just a note that what I hear from my amp and speakers sounds different than what I record.
The recordings sound thicker and fatter to my ears
I like how the recording came out
So the two profiles I uploaded may sound different than the recording
I think he'd love it, a very different take and interestingly modern/sparse way to reinterpret the original open riff. Well played, good sounds!
Thanks for the kind words
Nicely done. What guitar and profile did you use
Thanks,
It's a combination of two profiles
One -25% left
One +25% right
I can't give all the profile specs so I will just upload both of them in a .zip file
The guitar is a Joe Satriani 24 fret model Ibanez with Dimarzio bridge pickup
I double tracked the main riff with the two profiles I attached
The track is recorded direct from a sound card into my DAW
The super clean parts are a third profile
LOL, I hope Bob would like my version.
I recorded Bob Seger's - Her Strut
It has a cool guitar riff that has always stuck in my head.
I used RipX to rip the tracks from the CD and deleted the original guitar track.
I did all the guitar parts using Mixcraft 9 and my Kemper rack unit
This is my version of the tune
I don't know any sound engineers, so I am in the clear!
World's Forgotten Boy - Billy Idol
I ripped the Drums, Bass and Vocals from my CD and used those as the backing track parts
Billy's vocals were super heavy on reverb and you can't remove that from the original vocals.
I did all the guitar parts using my Kemper
I used Mixcraft 9 to do all the recording
I also added some synth parts here and there
After a few weeks of changing things, I am done messing with this.
It's got heavy volume on guitar parts cause I like guitar!
Another fun tune I like to play to play.

Thanks all
I did another play along to my backing track to see what you guys were saying
I figured out what I am doing
I am locked into the drum beats doing it my way
I like the way that sounds and also I never try and do exact clones of the tunes I play
Just my way of doing things.
