I think the music industry pondered this problem years ago with samplers and orchestral instruments. The real source will still give you more variation and possibilities. Nothing is lost by any of these new products.

I found this after a quick look around. Not exactly clear what the numbers mean though.
I have a XXX cab and can testify to the upper mids being more peaky like a V30.
-
Thanks. Does quite a similar thing to the JSX cab. Are the speakers the same?

My Dying Bride style really.

I really admire your detail SgtPepper, but I think that list of numbers is enough to put most people off using midi. I found it quite easy to send patch changes and control changes from a Pro Tools setup.

Would love to try the 03 profile please.

Doesn't the latency increase with every step up or down? The latency is a lot more noticeable if playing a clean sound.

Fletcher Munson curve is too complicated for me...I'm sorry. It's a very difficult manageable unit.
If anyone makes it sound complicated, then that is not right. The louder you play, the more bass and treble seem to be present. A sound at low volume in you bedroom may sound great with a scooped eq, but that will be less likely to work at gig levels.
-
That is quite an extreme pitch shift and a lot of processors would struggle with that. I find that the pitch works better after the amp section.

You cannot judge in ears with just a couple of shows and need to commit to it for a while. Here's what I found:
1 Single drivers are quite good if you play guitar, as you need mainly mid range.
2 I used to wear ear plugs and am quite happy with just the guitar if a mix is not available.
3 The sound you get when trying them on your own main be a lot thinner with a band in the background.
4 Make sure you get a good fit and seal of the headphones, or the quality will be poor.
5 Budget for a separate pair of in ears and don;t rely on the ones provided with the wireless system. -
You can select the loop in one of the stomp fx slots, but it will be mono or course.

I look at Rig Manager as an advance librarian and have not been disappointed. I guess if you are trying to stretch capabilities because you would prefer an editor, then there will be problems.
One irritation is that you cannot upload directly to Rig Exchange though. I had to put profiles onto a USB drive and then back to the computer. Is there a way around this?

Stymphalian productions do a great sounding pack if you like metal.

Too many other factors come into play for this to be taken seriously. Setup of both instruments and the type of floating tremolo too. Never had problems with the Edge Zero against my hardtail version.

I'm not sure you should be using presets for eq really. Surely listen to see what is needed and go from there. I always feel that if you are making drastic eq changes, it is better to go to another profile. Just a little high (80-100hz) and low pass (8-12k) really.
Putting the eq before the amp section won't have much effect in this case and you will effectively be equalising the pickup. the x slot after the amp is where it will show.

Any news on these merged profiles as yet?
-
I think you miss the point. A merged profile is a studio and DI profile put together to separate the cabinet element. To add an IR, I would just use a DI profile and then format the IR for the Kemper
-
This has happened to me and it was two pieces of information too close together. If you have a program change followed by a control change within a second, there will be a problem. At least, this is what happened on v4.
-
I agree the editor might be useful, but by no means a deal breaker. Surely the sound is what counts.
If this is what will make your mind up, I think you missing out on something great for the sake of convenience.
-
You cannot configure the loop on the Kemper to be both pre and post at the same time. The only option I can think of is to incorporate something like the Rocktron Patchmate Loop 8 to deal with the pre effects and leave the Kemper loop for post preamp stuff.
This would all be midi controllable still:
