Dude, this is exactly what I said in my first response. I edited it only to show the correct name, with credit to you, but you'll notice that I did say "or whatever it's called" originally. All the OP had to do was scroll through the options 'til he heard the clean through-feed at line level.
To refresh your memory, which I'm sure isn't failing, no? Just ribbin' ya. LOL
Display MoreOK, I'm thinking that you've plugged it into a regular line input. You need to use a guitar (high-z) input on an interface or desk... or a DI box. Sometimes the jack inputs on interfaces and desks have high-z selector switches. If you see one, hit it!
The alternative is to set the output to "Studio Direct" or whatever it's called (EDIT: "Git Processing" is what it's called according to Kempermaniac - thanks mate); it's the one just like the DI one, but it goes through an A/D conversion in the Kemper (I think, and I don't know why), and is boosted to line level.
The reason it's greyed out is, I think, actually a good sign as it probably means that you've selected the DI option correctly; the guitar is passed straight through the Kemper so level adjustment makes no sense; it would then not be the direct guitar signal, but an altered one, no? Hence being greyed out.
Hope this helps mate. I saw your original post, but wanted to think about it a little.
