I'm interested in this, too, as my toaster has suffered the same fate and I have resorted to gluing my cable into the back with a hot glue gun until I can be without the Kemper long enough to return it for repair. Mine is in constant live use, week in, week out, so I need a much more robust solution when it is finally fixed.

Just like running a clean boost pedal into the front of an amp, putting PB in the stomps section will make a clean amp louder, but give just a pure gain boost (i.e. unlike using a Tube Screamer type pedal) to a distorting amp.
If you run a clean boost in the effects loop of the same amp (or the effects section of the Kemper), it will give you a volume boost, as @Per said.
I use it linked to a switch on the Remote as a solo boost.
I use PB in both the Stomp and Effects sections on some rigs. -
Greetings -- maybe I've found a bug worth discussing WRT Spring Reverb 5.6.2.13481B...?
I took one of TJ's profiles, loaded the SR into the DLY module and the Pure Booster into the X module. The PB stopped working, except to sound progressively awful as I cranked the effect volume towards 5.0.
It mattered not if I activated/deactivated DLY. It didn't matter if I moved the SR into MOD.
When I removed the SR from the rig, the PB in X started working again.
Now, then. When I loaded the SR in MOD and the PB in DLY, the PB worked as expected.
To be clear: It seems that at this time the PB cannot work as designed if it is loaded in front of the SR.
Issue KA00153752 raised.
Found this out myself today - came on here to report it and saw that it is already known.
As mentioned, the workaround is to put Pure Booster behind (i.e. to the right of) the Spring Reverb, when in the Effects section, and all is ok. -
Thank you!

Tremendous!

@SliderJeff I don't think you'd find it hard to create that tone from other profiles without necessarily having to get it from a profile of the Laney in question.
When I bought my Kemper, I had a list of "holy grail" amps which I intended to compile in my Kemper, but it didn't take me long to realise that the sounds in my head were actually available from completely different amps. As a result, I now use profiles of a Bogner Shiva as my main amp and yet I've never played a real one! -
The only reason he doesn’t use it live is down to his giant feet and the closeness of the buttons on the Remote, apparently
Ah yes, I recall reading that now. As much as his enormous hands are a benefit, his similarly enormous feet are a curse!

I seem to recall that Paul Gilbert is an occasional Kemper user, so maybe you could persuade him to profile his amp for you.

I have the same problem. I would be interested in any solutions which don't require returning the unit to Germany, as I also gig with it constantly. As a temporary measure, I have bought a short RJ45 extension, with a male on one end and female on the other. I have wedged the male end of that into the Kemper with a piece of plectrum and I use the female end for the Remote cable.
It's literally my only complaint with the Kemper. -
Good job!

No latency here, either. Two expression pedals connected to the Remote and both work perfectly.

It sounds fantastic. Thank you!

Is the Protect light illuminated, on the front panel? If the Matrix overheats the Protect light should come on. iI it does, you should probably turn it off straight away. If it's not illuminated, it's probably ok to run it for a while to see if the fan comes on eventually, although I think they are supposed to be running constantly.
