I love the Lenz 1987X Marshall DI profiles into a York Audio IR but sort of feels I'm not getting what the Kemper can truly do... even though it sounds good?!
Does anybody else dig a DI into IR for their sort of, own profile?

So I have a wireless mounted beneath my board but I only really use it occasionally on certain gigs. I currently have a standalone A/B switch on top of my board but I was wondering if there's a way I could use of the returns as the input for that? Is there anything particularly special going on at the 'input' stage and via the actual input that would be reason not to do this?
Any help would be great!
Hey guys. Since I updated my Profiler Stage early this week I’ve noticed that Rig Manager is acting a little strange.
For example, I have a Wah locked to Slot A in the stomps section and previously if I loaded up a profile with FX in it, it would stay there. Now if the profile I load up has say, a gate in Slot A, it will display the Gate in that slot but still act as the wah?
Is there any fix for this or can I roll back the firmware or whatever?
thanks
Interesting.
Studio profile and merged profile (provided it is the same cab) should sound the same.
Perhaps page Bert directly and ask about possible reasons.
That's the thing, in the same pack, the profiles marked 1 and 1 M and 2 and 2 M sound very similar. Slight differences but nothing major. 3 and 3 M sound vastly different though!
Recently discovered how good Bert M's stuff is and downloaded the Wisseloord and F-Man packs. My question is about the Yngwie Marshall - the profile marked 3 sounds significantly different to 3 M, the merged profile, and was wondering why that might be? Both are labelled as using Greenbacks but the tonality of 3M is really much closer to the F-Man packed which is marked as using the Bogner 2x12 V30 cabinet.
Not really that important I guess, but curiosity has got the better of me.
Anybody know what the reasoning would be? Is it a Studio v Merged thing?
I used it in rehearsal today with no freezes so RM is definitely seeming like the problem.
Does anybody have the older firmware? I want to roll back then update again via rig manager.
Having a few issues with the Stage freezing up and support told me to upgrade to 7.0.2... where can I get this? I can't see it anywhere?
I did but no more crashes since I stopped using RM
But you were getting them often before?
I'm currently building presets for a tour I have coming up so I need RM to build my performances a little quicker but maybe I'll have more luck once I've done that and can leave RM for now.
Yeah, so far my stage has frozen and crashed 5 times in about 2 hours of playing. I wont be gigging with this until they make the software more stable.
When you boot back up after the crashes do you get a date/time error?
Anybody else seeing this?
I feel like it's linked to Rig Manager but I think I've had some freezes when it's not connected too.
I'm having a similar issue. Rig Manager seems to crash fairly often which occasionally crashes my Stage.
I also find that I get crashes when I save performances... anybody else get that?
I just realised the profiles I was saving into performances weren't actually loaded into my Profiler... could it be that? I dragged them from local library so maybe they were being stored in the cache?
Anybody else experienced this? Latest firmware etc!
I often get a date/time error once I reboot.
Any ideas?
I don't really "get" the backpack thing. I had one for a Helix for a bit but it meant I was carrying the guitar.
Rather than carrying an expression, cables, wireless system etc and having to set it all up, is it not easier to mount all that on a board, have it ready to go and just carry a guitar on your back?
Kemper Support has answered to my question whether or not it's bad to cover the vent on the bottom.
While the unit is on, you shouldn't cover those vents so I guess it's best to keep the feet on the unit.
Well, I'm mounting it with 3M, so it's elevated, and the vents won't be covered.
Just double checking they're not doing anything structural, like holding the chassis together? On the AX8 you needed to replace the screws with smaller screws as they were doing exactly that.
They don't appear to be on the Stage, just checking?
Is this Adam? How's it going brother! I love these profiles too. Have been using them for quite a while. Really good stuff!
Hey man, yes it is. Hope you're good!
Anybody else here using these? So so good.
For a while I've been looking for something to scratch that rack itch and Michael at Big Hairy Profiles was kind enough to share some of his faves with me. I can honestly say they're some of my faves, along with the Britt packs. The Soldano X88R and Bogner Fish profiles have made it into heady rotation in my gigging performance slots. As a small aside, I'm a session guitarist here in the UK, and I've used some of the BHP on anything from pop sessions, to studio stuff, to bar gigs with my Suhr 112 cab, and they've performed excellently every time.
Gonna get some demos up over the next few weeks but in the mean time - http://bighairyprofiles.com
Firstly, this only works on a Stereo out, right? In mono, does it do anything at all? Secondly, anybody using it? I had a play today and it seems cool, but I need to mess with it with my IEMs I think.
I'm guessing it's emulating a room, right?
