Bought the friedman pack last night. Not only the best friedman profiles i have ever bought but possibly the best profiles i have ever used. Thick, responsive and oozing character. Thanks

Also (and I held out a long time on this... wish I hadn't) start looking into IR's for the cab(s)/speaker(s) you are trying to profile. I just got the Redwirez Matchless ESD2x12 IR packs and they made a huge difference with the Matchless profile I'm using. I don't even need the Lo/High cuts after the amp anymore for recording. I keep the EQ there though, and use it live at 85hz/10khz so my place in the mix is a little better defined.
I have had a quick look for these ir's, where do I find them? Can only see 2 products on their website.

Thanks, I was referring to the last track "CED All Tracks -No EQ Filters" I meant, was the amp profile eq adjusted at all, or was the profile 100% stock.
-
@Dean R Did you edit that profile at all or is it completly stock with no eq adjustments?

I cannot comment on the profiling process but I do agree regarding the bass. I think this plays a big part in why the fizz/thin/brightness comments keep cropping up. The lack of bass, reduces the depth and character of the profile and as a result the thin fizzy tone becomes much more apparent.

I have 1000 rigs on my kemper, trust me when I say I have tried many profiles. I have also used the kemper with a cab and a dxr10. The fizz seems to be a charactieristic of the Kemper, this issue has been coming up for years on this and other forums. Too bright, too fizzy, too thin..all those comments are in abundance. When using a traditional valve amp, there is fizz of course but there is depth in there too which balances the tone, with the kemper you lose the depth of the amp tone and then have to try to manage the top end without losing the characterstic of the amp. Thats my experience anyway.

I find the definition paramater makes the biggest difference to cutting that out of the profile, most profiles seem to come with definition at full or close to full, i pull that down to just over half normally otherwise it is shrill at gig volumes.
This whole trebe/fizz issue is the number one reason I am considering selling my kemper and dxr10 and moving to something else. I can dial in tones, but i usually have to over haul them to get them close to what I am looking for, these profile edits usually end up changing the characteristics of the tone so I find the whole thing a bit annoying. Sitting here with my charvel, kemper and drx10 i can flick through 50 profiles on the rig exchange and they fall into 1 out of 2 catagories, too bright or too dark. I am slowly coming to the conclusion that the kemper is fantastic at cleans but falls short for high gain. Dissapointing after having owned mine for 2 years.

Interesting thread, I too am having issues using bass with my kemper, I have been recording with serveral basses and I am getting alot of noise with each bass I try and each bass profile. Adding a gate does nothing to affect the noise, which is kind of like interferance. The noise is captured on the recorded track and is present throught monitors and my dxr10 Any ideas?

I use my dxr10 in a maiden tribute band and we are loud. My dxr volume dial is set insnely low and it is more than enough to blow my head off. I cannot fathom a situation where this wouldn't be loud enough for me.

To those asking, i will add my modified profile to the rig exchange when i get back home.
-
That is the guy i got the profile off originally, I had to heavily modify it to get it close to somewhere in time, and my tone is not perfect....but its alot closer than i have gotten before.
-
No, thank you man, profile is awesome. Please keep them coming!

Thanks for sharing this, playing through it at the moment. Sounds fantastic.

Never heard the fan, not once.

I remember carrying my dxr10 into rehersal for the first time, the band pointed and laughed at its size and assumed it would never do the job. 10 minutes later they were stunned.
In my opinion it looks fine, it's how it sounds that really matters, noone in the audience is judging you based on the look of your gear.

I changed from a 1960 cab to a dxr10. Best move I ever made.
-
I will check with the guy who I got the profile from that it is ok to share and if so, will happily send it to those who asked.
This is a quick video, recorded on my phone of the profile I use after I heavily modified it, different cab and alot of eq and effects. Played through dxr10. All sounds are from Kemper, no other effects used.
I thought I had got it pretty close to the iconic somewhere in time tone?
