FRIEDMAN ASM 12 (this mounts Celestions so this means this feels more like a regular amp cabinet but also colours the sound so it's not full range?)
Not real sure where you read this about the sound coloring, but that FRFR speaker is very "flat" sounding and full ranged as well. And yes, I own 2 of them and love mine. I use them on two telescoping poles about 4' off the ground and to me they sound wonderful and tone rich. FYI, Everyone who has one (or two) FRFR cabs will tell you theirs is the best and loves theirs as well, so best advice is find a place that has many and try them all yourself. That said, the many good reviews from others who have purchased the ASM-12 at major music sites is what got my attention when I was looking for some.

I still unplug everything just in case, but the official electrical safety agency in Finland(TUKES) advices that in a city it's not needed since the surge from a lightning is divided by so many households it'll be harmless. In the countryside it's a different matter. I bought myself a 10 euro surge protector from the hardware store just for the kemper too.
Who ever said that lightning is redisributed among all houses equally, just doesn't understand. Lightning does what it wants to. 20,000 to 100,000 amps says I'm right about lightning going and doing what ever it desires. That said, proper grounding helps along with good surge protection. There however are no set in stone rules with that many amps in one place released all at once.

Love my Friedman ASM-12's ! The difference between them and "others" ? They don't just sound good playing a guitar thru them, they are designed and built for that very reason...

I guess I am still waiting for approval to join the user group before I can see the version 1.9 file? The link only takes me to the 1st page of the Unofficial Kemper Amps User Group. Is there supposed to be a DL link on that page after gaining access? Thanks...
Edited: Just got in and found the files needed for the Amp- thanks again for the info Fredrikn!

no major FW changes for some time now
Just looking back at my Firmware saves folders...
3.1.4 to 3.2.0 was fairly quick, from Oct 10th 2015 to Nov 13th, 2015.
But from 3.2.0 to the release of 4.0.1 beta release was April 10th, and the full release was not until Sept 28th, 2016.
So thats a pretty wide spread from release to release firmware wise. The last release was Dec 18th, 2017, so going by the above (still pure speculation of course), we are not due for another OS update until May of 2018...

Welp Im impressed! I've been playing with this for an hour and some, changing the settings and adjusting the Wah- SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH easier doing this on the display with a mouse!!!
Now you can "SEE" the over-all picture of what you are doing, and HEAR what you are doing at the same time- this is a keeper! It installed without a single issue, all I did was tell it what midi ports I wanted to use and away it went! Excellent !!!
