I can't think of a worse UI than a smart phone. Tiny screen, and guaranteed short-term obsolescence. How would a little touch screen be a step up from the existing KPA interface? A PC editor I understand for deep editing and patch management at home or in the studio. For live, I want simplicity, which is what the KPA already has (knobs and buttons).

I don't know why I haven't thought of this before, but it would make sense that the KPA wouldn't send <100Hz frequencies during profiling. Any frequency below the resonant frequency of a speaker could do damage by over excursion unless the speaker is properly acoustically loaded, like in a properly sized sealed enclosure. Over excursion also draws more current from an amplifier by unloading the voice coil.

If I'm right, I suspect this is by design, and if so, a "bass amp mode" would be awesome!

BTW, my main bass profiles were all made with "no cab", which is probably why it's never bothered me before.

Things just don't add up on why you continue this battle to prove all the deficiencies of your unit. ?(

And things just don't add up why we continue to entertain these threads. Let's assume for a minute that this guy is not a troll. He is never going to be happy with the KPA and he needs to figure that out on his own. These discussions aren't helping anyone.

I suggest to that everyone that we let these threads die. Nothing good will come of this.

Marshall amp controlled with smartphone app.

You can choose presets just by tapping on your phone.

    Nice!

I'm glad none of my Marshalls had this feature. I'd have to grab an old rotary phone handset and rest it in the modem cradle to change my settings. :) But seriously, I'd worry about obsolescence with phone app control of hardware. It wasn't too long ago that Blackberry was the smartphone of choice. At least with a computer you can run older stuff on newer hardware and OS. I'm running some PC software from the 90's still on Windows 10.

Yeah, I've been playing with it on top of another cabinet mostly. It's not bad on the floor when playing bass though. I actually have a stand and mounting cup arriving this week.

The amp on top is a home-brew that I built in an external hard-drive/CD Rom chassis. It has a tube front end (Fender Dual Showman/Alembic F-2B) and a class D back end. I use it mostly for bass, but I was playing a little fake jazz on guitar which it works nicely for. :)

I finally finished my 10" monitor. I picked up an Eminence Beta-10CX/ASD1001 coaxial combo with the crossover on eBay for $99, 1/4" Baltic birch for $30, and Duratex coating for $20. Total build cost was about $200 with misc parts and shipping.

Despite its small size, the Beta-10CX allowed me to tune my cabinet to somewhere between 45 and 50Hz at -3dB. I still need to measure it's actual performance. Using the 1/4" ply with aircraft style bracing allowed me to keep the weight down to 20lbs. So far, I'm pretty happy with it. Running full range music through it sounds better than my Tannoy studio monitors that I use for my living-room stereo.

The only downside so far that it is so short that the tweeter is very close to the ground and gets smeary due to reflections from the un-carpeted floor. I'm ether going to do a pole mount on it or a kick-back stand. I haven't run it at band volume yet, but I'm liking it so far at living-room volume.

I'm probably going to build a second one for a 500W micro-stack or singer/songwriter PA setup.

    Guitar included for scale:

Is that one super new? Because I cannot really find a place to buy it, I'm in Europe...

Yeah, just announced at NAMM. I also like the simplicity of it. I own a KPA remote, but I might consider one of these myself for when I gig on bass and don't need as much control.

Well, the hyper-sensitivity to latency does seem to be an awful handicap to have. I sympathize, but I just don't see a solution to be had with the Kemper. It wasn't really designed for people with your condition and I don't expect any accomodations to be made in the future.

I agree with the others who suggested that you will never get the latency out of the Kemper that you desire in the next several years. There is no plan for a 2.0 in the near future, and there is a long list of user requests that would be higher priority than your latency request.

If it only affects your recording and the KPA works for you live, you could track with your low latency Pod and reamp with the Kemper to get a better sound. That's the only solution I can think of for you.

As a bass player, this one has me pretty exited:

Not to mention that the 200W Trace Elliot pocket amp looks cool too

But seriously, this might be pretty cool for unpowered KPA users too, assuming that there is no "baked-in" bass tone to it. And knowing Trace Elliot, I suspect that is is just a flat preamp/buffer with a simple EQ that isn't doing anything when set flat. Based on the specs and shape/location of the bump I'd bet big money that the amplifier part is an IcePower 50ASX2 amp, which I've had great luck with.

    $299 street.

It makes sense to me to have HP/LP in the amp sections. A lot of amp mods consist of just changing the value of a coupling cap to change the HP cutoff or adding a bleeder cap for LP to tame some shrillness. Of course where these caps go (pre or post distortion) has a big effect on the results as well. It would be nice to have both options, but I'm not sure how that would work with your code.

Yadda yadda, correct nomenclature is important, especially when a misused word means the exact opposite of its intent. But that wasn't my primary point.

Another idea, turning off the power amp section in the Kemper menus would allow you to safely change cabinets without a full reboot.
