This RCF "evox 8" pa system is unused. I purchased it for my Kemper Profiling guitar amp that works with flat frequency pa style monitors instead of standard guitar cabs.
I wanted to compare it to my current guitar cab and return it if I didn't like it, but Amazon did not accept returns. This was the message . . .
    "RCF EVOX8 8 Two-Way Array 1400 Watt PA System
    Quantity: 1
This item isn't eligible for return.
This item can't be returned since it requires special transportation and handling which we can't provide. Use the Contact us button for help addressing your issue. "

The evox 8 was only used in my bedroom to A/B compare with my other amp.
The only noticeable wear is on the top end of the speaker pole from turning the top speaker back and forth when comparing. Other than that it is in brand new condition.

It is a really great sounding pa system and sounded great with my Kemper Profiling amp (very comparable to my Atomic CLR "neo" cab), but it just wasn't the right form factor (shape/size) that I personally seek for a guitar amp. It was good, but I'm getting a custom spec speaker cab made to my obsessive perfectionist specs. lol.
. The Evox 8 is also very well made/compact/powerful at 1400 watts/ and only weighs 50lbs total.
Here is a YouTube video showing a comparison with a top name brand pa system (not my vid)

There are many rave reviews online as well.

The RCF "Evox 8" sells new for $1800, I am asking $1528 (if you pick up in NJ zip 07932)

or I will add shipping based on location. I will compromise a bit with shipping cost.

I have perfect feedback on EB@Y under xxtwighlight and I am a longtime member of The Gear Page

    • I currently play a Kemper Profiler with an Atomic CLR "Neo" wedge.
My band always claims they can't hear me (directionally) and that I'm not loud enough.
I run the Atomic CLR at almost full on - plus - I run a Laney "IRT" (small 8" 250W wedge) in addition to the Atomic cab.
      Still not loud enough!

Well, I'm always one for creative ideas whether they fail or succeed.

So here is my latest idea. Let me know if any of this sounds like it may work.

      1. I've been looking into this PWR-DSP2 plate amp. If I'm looking for "louder", will this work for my setup?
It seems to be "complete" in reference to any external items needed, plus it has DSP to tweak the crossover/EQ//etc.
      www.minidsp.com/products/plate-amplifiers/pwr-dsp2

Would I be able to run both of the cabinets from the one PWR-DSP2 (two channels)
I was thinking of using the Eminence Beta 10cx coaxials. Are these a good choice?
I would be using 2 speakers in the lower cab, and either 2 or maybe 1 in the top cab.
      2. Would there be any cross interference issues with the way the speakers are placed in the 90 degree angle cab?
Here is a pic of the cab that inspired me to build a similar design. Here is a response from someone asking a similar question.
"Sound report - no issues with tone or asymmetrical noise or waves. Big and full with a JMP 2204 - absolutely monster with a Satellite Baracuda - with and without pedals.
      [Blocked Image: http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab240/xxtwighlight/Square%20Guitar%20Cab_zpsjyzsoy6t.jpg
Here is the build process he went though (if you care to check it out) from TGP . . . http://www.thegearpage.net/boa…net-baffles-away.1701462/

      3. What is your opinion on the "side port" style cab (Forte) in reference to a more dispersed sound that a band member to the side of myself would hear better?
      [Blocked Image: http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab240/xxtwighlight/ForteSpeaker752_IMG_1919_zpsml9ygp0b.jpg]

      4. Finally, here is my custom cab idea (give or take)
The pole mount would enable me to swivel in whichever direction.
Back tilted baffles for a slight upward projection.
As I mentioned, the top cab may be just a single speaker instead of the V-front dual speaker in the pic. (I'm not sure yet)
Thanx for taking the time and any info!

      [/quote]

It does diminish a bit when I move position in a circle.
It goes away when turning guitar vol. off.
It also does seem to dissapear when I blend in the full humbucker. So it seems like a single coil related hum(buzz).
I wonder why now though? As I mentioned, I never used to get it previously (same guitar/settings).
Maybe I should check my guitars shielding inside for any issues?

I'm not sure if "pop" is the correct word, but it's a reeeally LOUD and quick thump that I'm almost sure destroyed my speaker - but it never does.
I seem to get it when trying out different rigs and initially striking the strings on the first - or first couple of strums.
It really scares me as it truly seems like my speaker was def blown out - let alone my eardrums feeling as though they were blown as well.
    Anyone experience this?
    what causes this?

I don't get it when at home and I never had it til the last couple of gigs. Its an annoying thin-straight line sounding buzz that gets louder with
more high treble rigs such as acoustic rigs, and really gets amplified in the FOH mains. (I use more stage vol. with a low signal to the PA mains)

I use a Furman Power Factor Pro (the old gray w/red sides version), and a Gibson-like guitar with split coils.
I use the guitar mostly blended to single coil, and honestly, when I blend more toward the full humbucker, the buzz is drastically reduced.
So it could very well be single coil hum, but why is it appearing now? Why not the previous months? Its the same setup I've always used.
So I'm not 100% convinced its the single coils. Or only the single coils. I'm gonna check it out this afternoon and see what I can track down as the culprit.

    A few questions . . .

I read on this forum something about certain ground switches on the Kemper should be on or off if not being used?
Maybe I read that if Im only using the monitor out and not using the monitor out ground switch, that the other ground switches should be pressed in? Im a bit confused, lol. Anyone have info on this?

If I have the Furman Power Factor Pro, would the "Hum-X" unit add additional noise/hum protection? Or does the Furman PFP cover what the Hum-X does already?

    Any other info or help?
    Thanx!

Yes, I "save" each time I place an effect (or rig) on the remote (or perform mode).
Everything is fine til I move the browser knob ans lose everything.
I usually get my rigs from the "browse" and place it in the "perform", so getting the rig back is'nt as difficult as
re-placing the effects all over again.
It usually happens by accident when I'm tweaking effects and accidentally turn the browse knob and nooo, not again!! Lol.
I guess my question should be - can the Kemper remotes settings (rig & effects) be saved and quickly retrieved into the same button positions again - or generally locked so as to not accidentally make any knob turning mistakes . . ?
I guess I have some answers to try out.
    Thanx

So I set up my Kemper remote in the profilers "perform" mode with a rig in any given slot, and for example, 4 effects saved on that remote slot as well.
When I turn the "browse knob" , I lose all my saved settings and have to begin yet again.
Is this just by default & there's nothing that can be done?
Or, is there something I'm not doing correctly?
    Or possibly a production defect?
Or maybe some kind of reset needed?

Is there a way I can get back to my previously saved performance mode slot settings after turning the browse knob?
    Thanx

I was considering building my own FrFr powered speaker cab for use with my Kemper.I wanted to experiment with ideas such as "V-Front" for wider dispertion or maybe a forward firing 10" with angled 8" speakers below the 10". Maybe open back/ partially open, etc. The cab will be pole mounted on tripod speaker stand.

My goal: Smallest footprint (size) while still keeping a full sound (not boxey/middy) powerful enough volumewith high headroom that won't fart out (distort) too quickly at higher volumes. Wide sound dispertion.

I know there are factors involved, such as proper tuning and phase and such, but experimenting with ideas may ultimately be pass or fail. I'll research the best I can.

What powered 2 channel plate amp module could you recommend? Something fairly high powered. (Matrix no longer offers thier plate module amp.)I came across these models on the minidsp.com website.

    https://www.minidsp.com/products/plate-amplifiers

They seem well build, powerful, and have DSP functionality which allows to connect via ethernet to EQ'ing software.

Website:"The onboard Digital Signal Processors (DSP) provide real time all the processing a speaker designers will expect to excel at his crossover design task. These include Parametric Equalizers (PEQ), Level, Filters, comp/limiter, delay and more. The Graphical User Interface (GUI) platform is supported on both Mac and Windows environment."

Any opinions on these minidsp website plate amps as a power source for a diy speaker cab to be used with a Kemper?
Can these units run more than one woofer, or is it a matter of connecting them together with the proper Ohms balance?

Or am I just getting in over my head? Lol.Thanx

I just picked up a Yorkville NX10C 10" coaxial to use with my Kemper Profiler. The NX10C sounds pretty good for its small size, but it puts out surprisingly too much bass presence and a bit too much treble. I currently use an Atomic CLR neo which is a much larger cab w/ a 12" coaxial. The Yorkville NX10C is much bassier which requires me to readjust my Kemper settings - which is fine and expected from a different speaker, but I find myself dropping the bass on all EQ's within the Kemper, from the amp rigs front end eq to the "studio eq" effect, even running the "bass cut" in the studio eq quite high to try and cut some bass. The NX10C speaker has one of those single EQ knobs where turning to the left cuts treble and to the right brings in more treble but cuts bass. I never liked these EQ's, I have one on a Quilter Tone block.I really like the concept, size, & pole thru design of this NX10C and prefer not to simply opt for another speaker.Ive been through a few and feel this is the closest to what I seek conceptually. I just need to tame that bass and a bit of the slightly shrill trebles. So similar to the way a tube amp can be modded, can these production speakers(monitors/frfr) be modded to decrease the bass and/or treble response? If so, what are the components involved, and can anything be changed out - maybe "value" wise - that could be done by myself ( not too tech saavy, but dabble in taking things apart to repair - vacuums/etc.) soldering skills ok. Ive fiddled with tube amp mods and guitar guts. Or even taking it to an electronics repair tech if need be...?Thanx for any help!

I own a Kemper and an Atomic CLR neo.
I had a Yamaha DXR10 at the same time I received the Atomic CLR, and though it sounded pretty good through the the Kemper, the winning factor was that when pushed in volume, the CLR stayed together while the Yamaha seemed to distort and lose composure.
The Yamaha got quite loud at 700 watts, but just didn't hold together as tight as the CLR (400watts?) when pushed in volume.

I just picked up the RCF "Evox 8" which is an active 2 way array system with (8) 2" speakers pole mounted on a 12" subwoofer. It's 700 watts RMS.
It too gets very loud, but has the same issue of losing it when the volume increases. I can't get to the halfway mark on the volume knob without the distortion breakup happening. But it's damn loud even a quarter of the way up - about as loud as the CLR cranked.
In the case of the RCF Evox, maybe it's the tiny 2" speakers breaking up. . . No?

I want to look into a similar compact column array style setup, but with larger 5 - 6" speakers.
I am looking at the DB Technologies Ingenia IG1T which is a small column shaped speaker with
    (2) 6.5" speakers and a 1" compression driver.
I was thinking 2 of these (or similar) speakers with the Kemper run in stereo with no subwoofer.
(All my Kemper rigs always need extreme bass reduction.)
Ultimately I would like to have 2 of these small column speakers up on a dual mount pole, with one turned toward the band (who complain they can't hear me) and the other speaker turned more toward myself.
It would be cool to then mount the pole on a 10" subwoofer, but with the sub modded more like a standard
frfr cabinet - brighter and more articulate rather then dark and woofy.

    Any opinions?

And . . .back to my original question . . Is there a way to see a speakers headroom or distortion capability from reading the online website spec sheet?
If so, what am I looking for? What are the letters/ numbers - and what is the range?

    Thanx for any help!

My Atomic CLR sounds great, but it's just too large for what I need and I don't have a need for the wedge shape, as I always use it up on a stand. (I know they make a non-wedge)
I play in a wedding band and I'm always crammed up against the back wall. That extra wedge point on the CLR just protrudes too much and takes up that little extra space I need. Additionally, the drummer and bass player said they couldn't hear me that well. I thought I was quite loud. I quickly remembered how people talk about the audio dispersion focus on these FRFR type monitors as a very narrow field, So maybe that's why they didn't hear me that well.
Anyway, my plan was to try two 8" monitors (such as the QSC K8's) up on a dual speaker mount adaptor which would then connect to a single standard speaker stand (I believe (?)).
    This way I could . . .
    1. Get closer to the back wall
    2. Turn one speaker toward the band and the other toward myself
    3. Run stereo if I chose

Has anyone tried this? Any cons?
Which 8" monitor brand/model can you suggest besides the K8?

    Thanx
