Here is a comparison. Which are Kemper and which Axe?
They are all Line 6 POD HD and Vetta amps . . .
Thanks for keeping the Axe profiles coming Deadpan. I got my invite for the AX8 but I deferred for now. I'm too busy selling gear and trying to clean some of my stuff out of here.

Welcome pseudohobbit . . you may release your GAS now.

Welcome Snake . . . . the Kemper is a cool bit of gear and the folks here are just as good.

But on the other hand ... the weight.
WE all have our burdens to carry as we go thru Life . .the Kemper will lighten the load.
Welcome Herr K.
There are some very helpful, good people here. -
instead of from a distance, behind them or to the side.
We miss having our pants flapping from the sound . And it has medical value as well as it pulverizes any kidney stones we may have.

I love that you threw Jennifer Lawrence
I just sent her home this morning, she said she needed to go back to work on location. She's tickled you like her.

Sold it. It didn't have the same feel as the KPA to me. Put it up for sale within a day of owning bot
No kidding . . I just got my invite today from FAS. I haven't sent in a response yet. I'll probably pass on it for now. Thanks for the feedback.

You're hereby inducted into the Kemper Forum Hall of Fame™, deadpan.
Hey Monkey . . you forgot the intro:
Lights go out except for spotlight on podium. Jennifer Lawrence appears out of the dark wearing a plunging neckline Versace dress and a big smile. ( Drum roll then swell of orchestral music) "Ladies and gentleman, musicians of every land and stripe, this year's first inductee into the Kemper Hall of fame has been a model, a paragon of service and sacrifice for his fellow guitarists who has persevered thru hard times and difficult circumstances to bring us all a better world of Profiles from the far off land of Plaistow New Hampshire. So, I am pleased to announce that this years Kemper Hall of fame nominee is . . . . . deadpan!!" ( Wild applause, shouts, bic lighters being waved back and forth, babys being tossed into the air and the crowd going bonkers).
and they all played happily ever after . . . .

I've owned the AxeFX Ultra, II and AX8
Welcome Paul . . . . I'm curious if you have kept the AX8 or not. I'm a few days away from an invite to buy one and was wondering what your impression of it was/is. I'm very happy with my KPA and love the way it sounds and responds. I hope yours makes you happy.

Welcome Cosmo . . . enjoy the ride.

I am very appreciative of your efforts Deadpan . . .thanks for doing this.

Same thing . ."Access blocked" . . . are you doing all the AX8 presets? All 220? Really?
Fractal is sending out invites pretty quick now for the AX8, last I saw they were in early January. My date is 2/7. Not sure if I will get it but I have a little time before I have to make up my mind. Tho having a 4 minute looper sure would be nice. I wish the KPA had a better looper.

Check them both out!!
Thanks for the head up prsgary.

I received my Electro-Harmonix Mel9 Melletron simulator pedal today, which Bill Ruppert so expertly demo'd on YouTube using his Kemper. Well I don't know what magical configuration he used,
On the video a Kemper is visible. Maybe Bill used that.
I went and checked out Rupert's Mel9 video and there is a KPA in the background BUT also on the very right hand side of the video you can see the corner of a Roland VG99 which is powered on so maybe he used this unit also.
I, too, was intrigued by the Mel9, especially if I could get it to sound like Rupe's demo, but am not sure if it really is needed, anymore than, say, a Korg Miku pedal.

Welcome 0belix . . this is a good place to be.

I have plenty of $ to spend. Since I want to be able to hear the authenticity of the different cabs, etc. here's my question: Should I use what I have? Or what do I get to optimize this rig? An FRFR obviously. Which one? And is a powered one better?
Well . .since you are pretty flush . . a lot of folks on here swear by the Atomic CLRs. Like I said in my earlier post I just got a Friedman ASM 12 and I am very impressed with it. It is a bit heavy at 52 pds but it moves air nicely. It is cheaper than a CLR but it has less options for input/output. It only has 1 XLR input and a thru XLR jack. I plan on getting another. Check out XiTone powered/unpowered cabs, Matrix cabs and power amps. There are lots of things to choose from. Usually on line stores like Sweetwater let you return something if you don't like it. You have to pay shipping but at least you find out one way or the other.
I personally am selling my 2 VOX AC 15s as I don't need them anymore since I got my Kemper. I am quite happy with it.
Hopefully , you will be ,too.
