Bert M. and Britt provide quite a few gems! Some cleanish profiles by TJunkie too. I am enjoying some recent free profiles by Matt too, particularly a Buddha profile that cleans up nicely

I misplaced the text. I was commenting on Britt's free EVH profile! Sorry guys!

The EVH profile has so much gain with or without any boost...And yet you roll down the volume of the pup and you get a great crunchy or even cleanish sound. It is very versatile. Great with a LP, but I have tried it with a Nocaster reissue and it sounds really good. Thanks a lot. I can't emulate VH, but it has nothing to do with the profile?

Thank you. Make the most of the lockdown, if possible, and stay safe you all.

Not so sad, just mellow!! Nice!

I often find profiles that suit guitar A and are terrible or just uninspiring with guitar B. With Brit's and Bert's profiles the ratio of this low versatilty is smaller and the profiles just sound different because the guitars (and obviously the pups) are different. A bit of tweaking may make up for the difference, though I am a lazy guy at that and prefer to ignore those profiles that don't sound good as they are. With T Junkie's Fender or Vox profiles the compatiblity is higher than that of his Marshall profiles imho. Still, some Marshall profiles may sound great with this or that guitar. The free ones offered (thanks a lot, by the way) are usually pretty good, though the full pack may or may not always convince.

I've always wished for a nice lefty firebird. Probably because of my being a J Winter fan. Yeah, this is a mouth-watering thread.

The latest Marshall pack should be better. The three free profiles I've tried are very good. The Purple 68 did not satisfy much.

Thank you!!!

Welcome, and enjoy! Life is not easy, but we have to make the most of it. And music makes it easier. This is a friendly forum, so you will not feel alone here.

A lot of profiles clean up nicely when you roll off the volume of the pups, so you may not need a lot of profiles per amp. Try the free packs in the Kemper site first. There's always time to buy profiles later if you find some vendors you like. And check the rig exchange, cause you may find good profiles there too. Also bear in mind the cab used by the profiler is a very important part of the equation, as well as what styles they tend towards. Metal-oriented profiles you will most probably hate, but as it has been said, many amps have other sweet spots and lots of profilers are into rock, pop and blues, even jazz, rather than metal.
