Welcome. Better late than never. I was a "guest" peeping tom for a while, before getting the kemper! You learn a lot in the forum.

I've been having artifacts for days. Only with high gain rigs. Now and then they disappear or are very subtle. I've made a few changes in the setup to check up whether the problem is not in the Kemper but I still haven't found a solution. Perhaps playing with my Strat is more forgiving, but with my Les Paul it is a bit worse. I lower the gain and the treble/presence and the noise still appears, though less obvious. It is often a brief "crick" or "tick" kind of artifact, like digital dirt in the background. The noise appears after playing a note with lots of gain, and it may appear after the attack or during the decay of the note. And it not fret buzz. A few days ago it was even worse, some longer digital noise I could hear now and then even without playing any note, as if it were some dirt lying out there and popping in and out, playing hide and seek, but always there. I though it might be the SPDIF connections, but I've heard the noise also thru headphones plugged directly into the Kemper. I'll keep on checking up. Perhaps I should record a couple of samples (direct guitar signal plus amped) to keep as proof of what is going on. It may disappear again.

Any problems with 5 anybody? I am having artifacts with high gain distortion rigs now and then with version 4, so perhaps version 5 beats the gremlins off the Kemper, hopefully.

this "angry" Mesa sounds sweet to me, Frank. Cool lead tone.

One of the Sovtek, but you can click for the others elsewhere on the same page of the Gold Lion website (also thru RI). I like the Marshall and the Hiwatt freebies. One more Marshall to buy? Oh, my, my!!!!! Top Jimi's brown Marshall in the list too!!!! And Maxime's Budda profile is good too. I understand the Budda profile is studio whereas the pack sold in his website has merged profiles of that amp but no studio (anobody bought that pack?)..

Thank you. Very useful.

Great common sense. THANKS.

Being a monkey was very exhausting, I just switched to a bird.
Shame, man. I liked your smoking-chimp avatar. Smoking the cig made it even more subversive! At a distance it reminded me of a Lou Reed turned chimp fella. God bless Lou, RIP! Ah....., it's been a perfect day, says a Kemperite.

Thanks Armin for the advice. Also, as Sambrox (and Britt) says, the Definition parameter is very helpful. The problem is the guitar you use, and also the context. In a mix you often need to filter out some bass, making the guitar a bit thin if you listen to it silencing the other tracks. So some things you do in a situation won't work in another. We should have versions of a Rig ready to use when we change the guitar for instance, or when we record with other tracks in mind. That's work!

Welcome. I've been in and out myself. I played, quit, came back and played a lot, quit again, and now I'm back but in a more laid back manner. And yeah digital amps have evolved. Kemper is the top.

Tooth ready under my pillow!

+1 on this as well
I agree. Pack 10 is very good. There was a sale a while ago. Not sure there is now. You can buy the amps separately. Check up the free profiles TAF, Britt, Bert, Soundside etc offer you in the Kemper downloads Page or in their websites. Guidorist sells amps separately, and they are not expensive. He tends toward high gain a little, but you may like quite a few. But remember there are also good profiles in the R E. Check them up.

In particular the Marshall, the Budda and the Hiwatt. Even the ADA preamp is good. The Fulltone too dark.
