I have checked some distortion rigs today thru the Kemper headphones output and the weird digital noise problem seems to have disappeared, so it may have been a problem with the spdif interface or some connection, but it had never happened before. Got to keep on checking. It may have been some nasty gremlin I hope not to meet again.

I've been noticing artifacts myself for a couple of days. Only with distortion profiles. Like digital overload but input and output stay green!

also go to the Kemper download Page and there you may download a Pack by Bert M. His rigs sound pretty good for most folks. No Marshall, I think, but there is a great Bogner. The Bogner shouldn't sound dull. Not metal, though. Just heavy rock. If you want a more aggressive tone look for stuff by Reampzone, Tonehammer or Sinmix. Their rigs have less bottom end.

First, your guitar (pick-ups, neck scale, wood) will change the sound if it is very different from the guitar used by the profiler. Second, some profiles may need a bit of tweaking to sound close to what you may want.
Still, it is strange that all rigs sound muddy. Have you got the latest 4. firmware?
Go to Michael Britt's website and subscribe to the mailing list. That will give you some 20 profiles that most people will say work very well for them. Also the free downloads in The Amp Factory website. These two guys make profiles that do not need much tweaking, if any. If you play a Les Paul with dark vintage pick-ups it is probable you may need to increase the definition and/or use a high pass filtrer with some boomy rigs. Good luck. -

The Shiva was the 6L6 version?

any comparison with Britt's 69 Marshall, which has a lot of Cabinet choices?

Top Jimi has a Ceriatone clone. The only true Dumble is Britt's but there are a few clones around. Britt includes a true Dumble Rig in his free welcome newsletter Pack. Visit his website.

A very touching story. Life can be hard, and music is the best balm, isn't it? I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks a lot. Waiting for the new rigs.

Thanks a lot.

Why don't you use it? Just curious...I personally can't stand the sound of a dry guitar.
Dry sounds sure are terrible thru headphones. You always need some room, and the space parameter is helpful.
