Starting tonight, I’m getting feedback/Squealing sounds from my studio monitors at low volume. Headphone output is fine.

Unplug the guitar with other end still plugged into Kemper, non stop squealing.

    any ideas?

I’ve owned and used it daily for years, now out of nowhere this, making it unusable.

I don’t know if they have plans to update the units anytime soon, but if they do, I think they need one mono send/return that can be mapped anywhere before the amp, and a second stereo input/output send/return that can be mapped anywhere post Amp.

I’m not a fan of many of the Kemper effects, so for me to currently stay stereo, I go out of the Kemper L/R outputs into my stereo effects and then to my studio monitors. Problem is, I can’t record my stereo effects into Protools as the Kemper signal is fed from SPDIF.

I know it’s better to add the effects post recording, but I would like the option. Plus it keeps everything stereo, making it able to Mix Kemper Stereo Effects and External Stereo effects.

With it out of warranty, any decent electronics/amp repair could replace the jack. Gotta be a certified tech near you.

It takes some skill and patience, but it isn't a difficult repair. I replaced a potentiometer in an old Fender Mustang amp....and I'm no soldering or electronics master. It took me far longer than it should have, but someone who really knows what they're doing would have zero issues.

Before you do anything though, I'd submit a support ticket and talk it through with Kemper themselves.

yeah I think I’ll put a support ticket in just to see what they have to say, that’s good advice thanks!

If you google it there has been a lot of chatter about it, but most of them at the time were repaired under warranty which mine is not. The idea of shipping it to a repair center and being without it, is too much for my heart…….well, you know…….

Well, apparently this problems in around for a long time. All the discussions on it previously, seem to deal with warranty issues, and mine is way out of warranty.

When I turn my unit on, my remote will come on, but after a period of time, usually within a couple of minutes, it shuts off. I originally thought this was a bad RJ-45 cable, so I ordered a new one from Kemper.

I put the new cable on, got the same issue all over again. So I was playing around with the back of the unit, and I realized that the RJ-45 connection on the back of my Kemper rack will not securely hold the cable in place. The cable slides in and out probably about 1/8” forwards and backwards. If I hold it all the way in, no issues with the remote, as soon as I let go and walk away, the cable apparently starts to slowly slide out, and it loses connection with the remote.

Arethere any other options other than having to send my unit back to a service center and pay them to replace a faulty jack?

Well I can’t figure out how to delete a thread here, but apparently has nothing whatsoever to do with the remote or the cable. The connection on the back of my rack unit, keep sliding in and out, it won’t come all the way out, but also won’t stay completely connected either. Apparently this is an ongoing issue. I have no idea what to do now because it’s way out of warranty.

So when I turn my Kemper on, the remote powers up and seems to work fine for about a minute or so, then all the light goes out and it no longer works. I originally thought it was a network cable, so I ordered a replacement from Kemper, but that didn’t have any effect on it.

Anybody have any idea what may be going on?

Here is a video I did talking about the Kemper and understanding the differences between modelers and profilers.

Now that we have a standalone editor, it would be fantastic if they could come up with a plug-in that you could insert in your favorite DAW, that could store all the settings of your Kemper with the session.
