Al basically humiliated anyone
A late friend of mine use to do work on Al's car. Let's just say that Al believed he breathed a different sort of air than the rest of us.
I started playing in 1973 with a steady diet of Zeppelin/Purple/Sabbath. Around 75 started listening to Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return to Forever, and Holdsworth on Believe It. Still have all of the scar tissue on my chin.

For playing in real time (not recording or profiling), anyone tried running a tube amp (via a DI box) into a mono loop in spot D and then shut off the AMP in the Kemper?
I'm picking up a Tube combo and will try some DI profiles at some point but was wondering about using it in the way noted. Thanks.

Well I guess this was a bust.

This is cool to find out. The OEM I worked for used IcePower amps for years. Great company and top shelf products! Cool folks too.

You might like a certain amount of Amp Compression and / or "pick emphasis" that you always seem to dial in to similar levels, for example.
Which is where I am with my 5 rigs. Only unique features are the amount of definition and bass cut, and which cab I end up loading.

Please, no quick judgements. Try the comparison again at another time with a 100% fresh set of ears. I'm really not looking for a better or worse response. Just what (if anything) you find it does to the base tone and any particular artifacts that go away or you now notice.
Zapp: did you re-adjust the definition and EQ on the copy before deciding you were missing 'clarity'?
-
Gain dirty enough to growl but clean enough to articulate single notes without too much mud. Something that cleans up with the guitar's volume.
Not Fender clean or Triple Rectifier scream.
And you're comparing your favorite rig with it's current settings with the same rig with my settings.

*** Yes. 0.0 for tube shape.***
UPDATE: leave or set 'tube shape' at 3.3 - thanks Michael!

I'm working on a theory and need some others to check it out. Take a couple of your favorite higher gain rigs (nothing too insane) and make copies of them. Now on the copies do the following:
1. Set all of these to <0.0> (trust me!)
- AMP: power sagging - pick - compressor - clarity - ***tube shape*** - tube bias - direct mix - volume
- all 4 EQ bands
- all 4 CAB options
- OUTPUT: make sure pure cab is set to 0.0 and that space is headphones only
2. Re-adjust the definition control (1st) and main EQ (2nd) as needed. Volume matching should be done with the Rig Volume control only. SAVE.
3. Over the course of at least 2-3 sessions, compare the copy with the original and let me know your thoughts. Be sure to check them both dry (no FX) and loaded down with modulation and ambience.
Thanks to anyone willing to participate. I'll let you know the theory after I have more feedback from others.
*** EDIT: LEAVE OR SET TUBE SHAPE TO 3.3

I can't see it happening since the KPA allows you to fill in slots A, B, C, D, X, Mod, and Dly with whatever you want. How could you possibly do a global change to slot A unless it had the exact same effect loaded into it across all rigs? This is one of the reasons I switched to outboard effects. The 7 slots I'm using are the same across the board. Modulation, delay, and reverb are now external so they can be adjusted on the fly depending on the mood.
-
An end around is utilizing the lock feature for whatever you want global? Unless I'm not understanding the feature request correctly.

Thanks Paul. Will check this out later for sure.

Synth solo played by Fred Mandel who toured with Queen. May double tracked the solo on guitar too.
Somewhere out there is a Kemper profile that mimics Pat Metheny's GR300 synth. Has kind of a similar tone to the Queen song
if you add a cocked wah pedal to it.

The Colonial is my favorite single pack by him. Talk about a versatile beast of an amp! I honestly think it can out Dumble all of the amps in his D-Pack!
My all around favorite is 2 7.

It is just a Beta release. Maybe more will come with the official launch?
-
Anyone familiar on using formant reverb? I don't even know where to start with it.

Now that analog vs digital is finally laid to rest.
You need to spend time on other forums.

Is mentioned profile part of this pack?
I found it on Rig Exchange.
