I'm sure this will happen hence several well known profilers already having access to liquid profiling.

Kemper 9 is coming!
But Hardware stays the same...
Kemper 9 is already here
-
Looks great.
I also notice Kemper is on sale at Sweetwater.
Is this something normal that occurs from time to time...... or maybe a sign of Kemper2 on the horizon?
Kemper have reduced hardware prices. It was noted as part of the new OS announcement.
"Save up to 19% on KEMPER PROFILER devices and the PROFILER Remote. Parts availability and costs improved, therefore prices are adjusted."

Nothing is stopping you using your pedals with the Kemper if you are unable to work within the supported 4x pre and 4x post effects.

What is the BlankPlex please?
-

Yes.
But with dual cab for example cab a left and cab b right you would get an complexer sound
It also moves you further from the original profile. That isn't necessarily a good thing as the aim of the Kemper is to create a digital copy of your amp and cabs so you could take "your sound" with you anywhere in a lightweight unit.
-
Yeah. But I can't load from my catalogue of Celestion IRs and blend as I wish.
There are plenty of products that will allow you to do that and save the results as a new IR too.
-
You can create profiles with as many cabs and mics as you want. And using blended IR's is another option too.

I've used Fender 150 pure nickels for over 30 years. They're great as they don't really dull because they are pure nickel and they also don't have that initial overly bright period either.
I used the 9-40 (early Van Halen) set until they ended production a few years ago. These days I flip between 9-42 and 10 - 46 depending on what I'm playing.

1, There have been posts on here from Kemper explaining why it is the way it is now.
2, Before RM was a thing we simply locked the entire Stomp and / or Effects sections but his has never been a feature in RM. I wouldn't hold your breath for it either as locking everything forever (or until you change your mind) only takes a few mouse clicks.

I looked at this quickly and the plug-ins it uses seem to be very specific for this device. They are not generic VST plugin-ins. But finding the info was a PITA so I didn't look closely.
Currently I only play at home, so VST on the PC is all I ever need. Still waiting for a PC based system like this but with more buttons etc to be used as a VST only platform. If I wasn't old and lazy I would develop it myself.
Yep, I was thinking the concept was more interesting than this particular unit. Perhaps it might lead to something in the future for those that want to combine an odd mix of things like using IK Tone X captures with Bias FX effects and ML Mikko cab sims live.
Unlikely to be for me as Kemper has all my live needs covered and I don't have any plug-ins.
-
Oh its not anywhere near to being a competitor for Kemper. But this part of the forum is for other gear which this is and the idea of taking your favourite plug-ins outside of the house in the future will be an intriguing prospect for some.

I'm surprised people, aren't talking more about the future potential of this type of device for guitarists.

That loses too much functionality for me. I'm not sure there's any way to go smaller than the stage without losing something key or needing new software / ecosystem. I'd also expect it to be of a similar quality and cost to the existing models too.
-
There is no single answer to the original question. BTW, the question is unreasonable IMO.
What is unreasonable about asking people whether they use reverb on their live rock sounds?
-
"the venue"... What is that? I have played many places and none are the same. Playing an outdoor gig is completely different than a small bar . Use your ears and adjust accordingly.
Small bars to decent sized festivals, some nearly empty and some rammed to capacity, indoors and outdoors. I don't use reverb at any of them though.

Quad Chromatic Delay is still there and still I used a tweaked version of those "Eventide clone settings" in my live setup
