Well, but why does the KPA sound bad through the board to IEM and good through the PA?

@robles1999 So do you use the Kemper Headphone Out for your stereo IEM or the wires coming from the board?
-
Would be cool to have it before Xmas to use the holiday season accordingly.

Wanted to push this in the focus again ... might be very handy for practising purposes! Maybe as a stomp?

Was genau ist denn nun der Zweck der -12dB-Einstellung und warum sind es exakt -12dB und nicht -10 oder 14?
-
1. Got the Thon Shallow 5U Rack. Fits the Remote as well (plastic, not wood).
2. Read about the discussion FRFR vs. Guitar Cabs first, concerning Power Amps I can't help you.
3. There are various EQs in the KPA, therefore I never saa the point of external EQing.
4. Do not know either but there are plenty options. Furman / Fryette seems to be often used. -
Will it deal with the harshness?
-
Wie käme man bei dem Konzept auf 10, 20 , 30 usw. ?
1, 2, 3x drücken und kurz warten.
-
No dB gate on the Kemper plus no way to quickly adapt the volume (as with a bodypack).
-
Yes, but as far as I understood it this is not the scope of the question.
-
It's not about mono/stereo but about harsh distorted sounds.
-
I will try not going through the desk but use the guitar signal from the KPA instead ... maybe this is the problem ...

Kannst du etwas mehr zu deinem Wechsel von der DXR10 zur Red Sound Box erzählen?
Willkommen!

Why is your studio EQ so different from Live? For the Mastering vs. FoH I get it but on instrument side?
-
FoH and with my studio headphones I like my profiles very much as well.
Nevertheless, through my IEMs I could not get the high gain profiles sound good. Whatever, I know that it sounds good through FoH so I do not care.
2nd: I see my IEM as a control over my playing. I do not expect to have the most monstrous mix on my IEM. I use it primarily to keep the focus on my playing. The mix and EQ I need for this differs to the tone I expect from my rig for FoH sounds.
But you are right: the KPA's performance on high gain profiles with IEMs lacks a little bit for me. I do not blame the unit for this since I am not sure if it's me not being able to dial it in correctly.

So, one of the coolest guitar tones ever in my opinion. Tried to figure out how it was done. Did some research on the technical side, seems to be a Guitar - DI Box - Console direct signal chain.
Playing-wise I come very close using some slap-fingerstyle technique on the g and b string. I got a clean compressed profile of one of my amps which sounds quite like it but it does not nail it.
Any suggestions for a starting point (no commercial)? Thanks a lot!

If - and this is pure speculation - you do an update with this little amount of changes there are probably some changes under the hood or this is a Release Candidate with some unknown major features. Or it is nothing more than just a small maintenance update. Who knows. I take it either way. If there is something to play during christmas holidays I look gladly forward to it.

There are cases with half the depth. The KPA fits perfectly in there. Anyways, no room for the Remote in the front / rear covers. If you want to store the Remote as well you need 3U for the KPA and at least 2U for the Remote (+foam).

Basically the topic gives the question:
There are circuits which translate the guitar's sound very detailed and others which basically colour the sound more than the guitar does.
I would like to hear your impressions on how much of the KPA sound comes from the instrument and how much comes from the unit itself.
My feel is that it depends on the profile. Generally speaking, the KPA can make a "bad" guitar sound appropiate. Do you share this impression?

Considering feel it's not equipment to improve.
