The D2 profile would probably be the closest to TF. The profiles are pretty dry, which is personal preference, but I feel like that albums is heavy on verb. Again, to me, with my guitar, it's also bass heavy.

I have a Strat with a Rosewood neck and pickups from a Kenny Wayne Shepard signature Strat, and it's close. Those pickups are a little hot and a little more wide response sounding than a vintage Strat. I also play 9s and don't have SRVs hands and ferocious playing style...

My point is, these profiles will get you very close, but you can't be afraid to tweak them for your gear, ears and style. Don't be discouraged if you fire it up and don't get the mixed and mastered tones of the album.

Gotcha. The guy in the first video added reverb at some point. I suppose we can simply add some reverb from the Kemper to get the sound a bit more album like. I definitely hear you though, I rarely leave settings as they come since various guitars and pickups almost demand a bit of tweaking. I have a Strat with 11's and Lollar Blackface pickups and am confident that it'll get me there with this profile. Lollar makes some fantastic products.

Downloaded the Axe Profile, sounds really good, for my setup (and ears) I dropped the bass (-2.6) and treble (-0.6), upped the Bias and Pure cab. I'm really liking this tone, and marked it as a favorite pretty quickly. I can't say it's massively different than some Morgan profiles I've downloaded from the RE. I have to try the cabinet with a couple of my other rigs.

Great to hear. I have yet to buy a Kemper, but having this profile already downloaded for when I do is exciting. How close do you feel it is to SRV's Texas Flood sound relative to other Kemper profiles you've heard?

I've probably done the most free axe-fx patch to kemper profile conversions on this forum.Unfortunately a very small minority (ie one person) kind of ruined that in the past (some of which was mentioned in another thread).
I also wanted to gauge the interest for something I'm working on in the future that is going to be absolutely killer.....

Where is any money involved? And who said I was only going to put it up for a certain time? Its attitudes like this why I took down nearly all the ones I did in the past.

Any chance you can email the password to me? I'd like to get the profile downloaded now, but don't plan to get the Kemper until later this year and am unable to PM until I register one on the site. Email: <Removed>

    Here are the profiles
I did 4, one without the drive two with the alternate drives and a 4th for the hell of it with both on :D
Didn't sound as bright as the demo in the video but I don't have a strat either....I also made sure I did the profile using the same FW he used unlike some other cross modeller profilers ;)

Shoot me a PM for the zip password

I should have mentioned two of the profiles had a slight bump in the upper high end which I tried to take out with a high cut. I didn't hear a hell of a difference and it was my first time using that in the eq since the update.
I was comparing them in ozone and dialing it in to that area.

Wow! Thanks so much! FYI, I don't think I'm able to PM you - I get "Access Denied" when I click on your profile. Any chance you can PM me the password?

Great feedback, everyone - thanks! The tone I'm chasing can be found on the first Austin City Limits and El Macambo performances. I've run across those YouTube videos before posting my question and, although they certainly sound great and close, there's just something not quite there - perhaps it is that extra touch that the guy playing the Axe Fx has - at least when it comes to SRV. I have an all original '66 Super Reverb and, when combined with an OCD and TS808 HW, I can get damn close with my strat + Lollar blackface pickups. Worst case, I'll profile that as my SRV tone! I have a treated theater room, so that should provide a great place to profile the amp.

I lean more and more towards the Kemper because, if something's not profiled today, it might be tomorrow (including my own gear). And while I'm far from an SRV tribute guy and enjoy/play many other styles, I've found his tone to be one of the the most elusive to nail (as many have stated, there's so much tone in his hands). Plus, I've listened to some amazing tones (Michael Britt profiles, etc.) and Kemper's ease of use easily trumps the Axe Fx.

Thanks, guys. I'm getting the impression that there's just not a profile for the Kemper that quite nails it like the Axe Fx II XL+ shown in the video. Perhaps one will eventually be created and although some of these tones are really close, they're just not quite there. Clearly, one's playing plays a very important role, too. Kemper leads the pack when it comes to the variety of profiles and ease of use while the Axe Fx II can crank out some amazing tones, but is quite complicated in comparison. I want my cake and eat it, too! :)

    Hey everyone,

I've been mighty impressed with modeling capabilities from both Kemper and Axe Fx. Ideally, I'd prefer to go the Kemper route due to the endless and evergreen profiles that continue to be made - it's incredible. With that said, I have yet to hear any convincing SRV tones from the Kemper (my searches have not yielded what I'd call "spot on" tones). Are there any? In comparison, I heard an SRV tone come out of the Axe Fx II XL+ that is spot on (video link below). It's not just close, it's spot on. Are there any profiles on the Kemper that compare? That's really the only holdup with the Kemper (I'm obviously a huge SRV fan), as I enjoy many of the available other profiles.
