It is a bug for sure. It works as expected the second time. My workaround right now is to quickly hit down and up on the rig buttons. That fixes it too. I bet I could do a quick scroll down and up with the mid knob as well as you say.

Just tried it. The bug is that when I turn the browse knob as the first thing the preset list end up in a non-related section:
I'm in a reverb module when I turn browse but the preset list starts in drive presets.
Only happens once for every kemper reboot but equally annoying each time.

If you are planning on using these profiles yourself as well, I would delete them from the unit.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Let's say I long press the delay module to change it to something else and turn the browser knob. As soon as I turn the type knob the selections jump a mile away and I have to scroll through what seems like every effect type to get back. I would like it that when I select and turn browser/type knob that it stays right where it was when I turned the browser knob not jump 8 effects down. Is this normal or is there something else I need to do?
This is a known bug that annoys me every goddamn day :). Doesn't seem like Kemper has it very high on the priority list though.

So which of the current Kemper names is Threshold, which is Ratio, attack release?
I don't think it's that simple. The currently available controls are likely to control a combination of the regular controls.

Loved the behind the nut bend! Awesome

Btw if you are updating the manual (for this reason or other) the cabinet exception seems to be mentioned twice:
-
One more hint: Method 1 works fine in the Editor.
Thanks - I love doing editing on the device though. I can loop a lick/riff (in the pre position) and tweak with two hands.

This is the complete quote from the manual:
· You can erase Morphing of any parameter by turning the morphed value back to the base value.
· A safer way to erase a Morphing is to first activate the Base Sound, and then sweep the base value of any parameter past the morphed value.
The safer method 2 works perfectly here. Method 1 might have the issue, that it is very hard to exactly meet the base sound value including hidden decimal places. because otherwise you immediately set a new morph value.
Thanks Burkhard - I'll try the safer method 2 then. Come to think of it, that is probably the way I used to do it. I just forgot so I checked the manuel (yes - some people do that). I would suggest removing "method" one from the manual. With hidden decimal places it's next to impossible - and the user doesn't know why. It's just confusing with very little chance of success.

The manual says this:
However this doesn't seem to work on the latest beta - or maybe I'm doing it wrong:

Would love to see a quick video. Don't love how my pots work but I'm not sure how bad it is compared to others.

Great choice. Motu makes good gear.

True! If your Wah is locked, each Rig you load is edited by definition, because if you store it that moment it gets stored including that Wah and not in the state it had been stored before.
...and I guess if you store it with the locked wah, then things are back to normal afterwards? (since the wah settings are no longer "new").

I guess you agree, that sending 9 Volt battery power into the input of an amp is a defect or flaw. It doesn't belong there. Please get those instruments fixed. A working condenser might fix the problem.
We don't think, the fix is on our part. The PROFILER has been working with all kinds of instruments since nearly ten years. Such an issue did never come up.
You are probably right. Just odd that this happens twice within weeks after nearly ten years. Could be coincidence still though.
-
It seems these instruments work great with other gear without noise?
Does the Kemper have a specific protection routine that kicks in? In that case perhaps that could be reconsidered?

In my mind the difference is simple and clear.
A modeller tries to recreate the piece of equipment that makes the sound. The AxeFX, Helix etc try to model the signal path of the real amps. This in turn means that the model should behave like the real thing when turning knobs, flicking switches etc etc. It is modelling the hardware which restls in a recreation of the sound. It is very processor intensive as a result.
A profiler catures a snapshot of a SOUND. It doesn't try to replicate the signal path of the original hardware but merely capture the actual sound. As a result knobs switches etc don't respond like the real amp as the profiler doesn't possess the information to know how these controls work on the real device. The benefit is that it needs massively less processing power to achieve the same or better results soundwise. The trade off is that it can't be treated like the real amp for editing tones.
You forgot the most important pro :). It can profile (almost) any amp in the world without prior knowledge of that amp.

I would recommend something with two identical input channels for recording stereo when needed. iRig Pro Duo would do as stated. This would also be a good option: https://www.thomann.de/dk/audient_id14_mkii.htm

OK Burkhard. Thank you for clearing this up! I'm not working in the Perfomance mode but in Browser mode with my midi pedal.
But from you I understand that won't make any difference... right?
Still I'd like to know where the latency in screen comes from. Memory issue?
The quickest way to switch is between the 5 rigs in a performance. So it could be slower in browse mode for sure.

Indeed. It's actually a pretty big improvement to my alternate picking.
