Well the Kemper still has a few more tricks up its sleeve

Could be. I also have a Marshall 9100 I can try.
-
Finding a good sound with a powered Kemper for metal at full volume is not easy for me either. I've got best results with the Cililabs 5153 Stealth DI profiles. But still searching.
-
I still use some 2012 Rigs without a problem. They have been through dozens of backups/restores/OS Updates/Rig Manager versions.
This is not an issue.
No of course not. Why someone would even start to think that is beyond me

Also try ctrl + enter.
This also loads cab presets and effects presets etc.
-
The same approach should work with the Kemper I reckon? Use monitor out EQ for the cab and master out EQ for FOH.

UA used to have a Dimension D. It's not available anymore. I guess they licensed it for a certain years only. The only one's that can still use it is those that still use old UA internal cards. I used to have one such card and it's one of few plugins I miss.
They just changed the name:

Feeeedt, mand! Seems like our tastes are quite alike, haha, what with Marty Friedman and now Nuno
What's not to like .
Thanks for the comments all.

+1 for selecting "to tempo" per effect and not per rig.

Hm running out of good guesses. Are you perhaps monitoring both in Console and DAW? (and get phase cancelation)
-
Are you sure of that? Even at the same volume? Check that you don't have the high-pass filter enabled in the Apollo console.
-
There a no hard and fast rules. -6db peak and -18db average sounds reasonable.
-
When you connect XLR left from Kemper to Line 1 on The Apollo you'd want to pan that channel hard left to make sure it comes out of the left speaker only. Similar for right. This mirror what you do when you connect directly to your monitors. This will make you stereo effects (reverb, delay, mod etc.) work correctly.

Panned full left and right on the UAD console.
Here is a recording/screenshot from cubase when playing a rhythm funk riff (dynamic range from -10db to 0 when you pick hard).
Shouldn't the waveform be larger?
Also should a limiter be used on the UAD console L+R channels? like the LA-2A as a BUS/SEND?
Any suggestions?
Looks OK if you record in 24 bit. Increase the gain if you'd like to record hotter.
-
Make sure you link the Apollo inputs so they get panned left and right. Also adjust the gain so it doesn't clip. If you peak around -6db you are golden.
-
Yes plenty - These are some good names to search for:
Thumas
Sirius
But there are plenty others who deserve mentioning.

Using XLR cables you engage the mic preamps in the twin. Use jack cables between the two instead. Another option as you mention is to buy a spdif converter. This works well in those cases where you'd like to record both stack and DI signals.
