The right setting is to have the Kemper as a slave - otherwise you'll get crackles. Are you confident you have tried this? I have also experienced crackles after a software update even with the correct settings, but those have stopped after a reboot of the Kemper.

It's an output preset.
-
Yeah make sure you mute/pull down the channels in the audio cards mixer. Please report back if that changes things. I would also try listening to the Kemper via headphones to hear what that sounds like.
-
Hm not easy but let's see how we can break it down. First you need the basic stuff to work. Forget about reamping for now. Plugin your guitar in the Kemper and the outputs from the Kemper in line 1 and 2. Do you have sound? Do you have signal in Console?
-
Try headphones. You might be hearing the string of the guitar directly.
-
This is a feature if I remember correctly.
-
Did you try with headphones?
-
Nope. Won't bite

Great playing!

Hard to help but are you sure you don't have monitoring enabled in logic then? That could create a feedback loop.
-
Did you try muting the channels as suggested?
-
Try positioning the cabinets so they face in different directions. One facing forwards, and one facing backwards. How do they sound now?

Definitely sounds like an SPDIF mismatch. I have the Twin at 44.1 khz. Here I first play with Kemper at 48 khz, then switch to 44 khz the second time around:

Sorry for the over-playing. Am drunk

Not sure where the feedback comes from, but make sure to mute input 1 and 2 on the Twin. Could potentially solve it.
Also when going into the Twin with XLR you NEED to select Mic. Line is only listening on the jack part of the multi-socket. In your screen shot only one of 1 and 2 are set to Mic. That is why you don't get stereo. I propose you link 1 and 2 to make it easy:
Let me know if this changes things. Also not sure why you'd set the cue to 3/4 - but that part I need to relearn everytime I need it

-
You plugged your guitar into the headphone output?
-
Dave Murray and Kirk Hammett. Don't know a single DM solo but Live after death was such an inspiration. Learned every KH solo up until the black album.
-
Yes. The twins input does seem to color especially crunch sounds in a good way. Ever so slightly as said.

Spdif allows me to record both the stack and the direct signal for reamping (git/stack option) in an easy way.
Also its simpler in terms of cabling.
But the analog inputs sounds ever so slightly beefier so that's also a good option.
