I'm not fooling anyone, am I? I'll probably order one tonight. ?

I'm probably going to wait and get another used toaster from someone who desperately wants a Stage. ?

I think I've tweaked my rigs about 5 times in the last 6 months now that I've got it dialed in. I really love playing guitar. ❤

The sound of the kemper is superior to the helix
i want a NEW kemper with DUAL AMP capability and better digital i/o's
i think this is totally legit coming from an user that is been using kemper since 2011
it's been 8 years!
technology evolves
i want a NEW kemper
not the same old thing cosmetically re-designed
maybe i'm old school but in the past users used to demand and request their needs
i don't take paternalist dictations from corporations
the clear example is Apple and why i personally moved to windows
that was a hard decision for me to take
but it's clear that they don't listen to their professional users
only consumers, fanboys and girls..
the reality is that we could have a NEW kemper with dual amp capability, better digital I/O's, and audio interface at the same price
but hey, everyone is owner of it's own money
so follow your religious mind and just buy two kempers!
I think you're just bored with it after so many years and want a new toy. Do you regularly have people say your guitar tone isn't good enough or that your tone would be awesome if only you had dual amp simulation?

The thought of never having to unplug my studio Kemper and having just one thing plus expr pedal(s) in a ready to go case to take to small gigs and jams is great.

"Milking it" is not the way I see their actions. Give me 3 compelling reasons why there's a burning reason to improve the Kemper.

If it could double as a remote for the rack that would be cool...but it seems not
It's the same functionality and you can load a backup of your rack, so it IS the rack. Why would you want to plug it into your rack?

Summer is the only estimate I've seen. It'll get here. ?

I would be really really surprised if they went down the path of multiple code bases for the new unit and the original. I'm expecting them to be identical, but with slightly different options based on which device you're using.
eg: I doubt the unpowered toaster has the "Power Amp" switch in the output section.

Dude...seriously? Not cool.
Agreed. This isn't facebook. The constant whining over there about the (free) editor is really tiresome.

Aren't they only ones in the race?
That's what IBM thought in the 80's. ?
-
They're arguably the market leader, so they should be able to attract a premium price.

I bet the folks at Kemper are getting a laugh from our guesses. ?

I had a polytune for a couple of years and it was a decent basic tuner. The "all strings at once" feature is pretty much useless IMO. No precision or accuracy.
My personal requirement is just for 6 string guitars. I want the ability to create a "Buzz Feiten" preset and a "James Taylor" one. I'd want it to recognise the string based on pitch and apply the relevant offset just like mentioned by CK above.
This isn't a biggie for me in the grand scheme as the workaround is easy, but I think it'll be a good selling feature.

The timing makes sense. In order to have a floor unit they'd have to build all the editing capability into the unit, which would make it too complex, or have a separate editor (ta da!).
It'll be interesting to see how they've approached this. Either as a standalone piece of gear, or as a KPA "player" that needs a parent KPA to manage the config (eg: Apple Watch).
If it's totally new and doesn't require the KPA then they'll convert a bunch of non- Kemper users, but would probably be $$$
If it's just an improved remote with the ability to work without the KPA they'll probably get instant sales from at least half of us existing users and would theoretically be relatively affordable.

The way I see it, if the traditional builders didn't see this coming and adapt to leverage what pros have been saying for years about modern tech, then it's their business call. The only option for them is doubling down on their old technology to try to stand out.
I feel for them, but for the most part I don't think there's been much invention in the tube amp space for many years. The IP is just out there and a bunch of boutique builders tweak the basic designs.

This has definitely been discussed a bunch, but I don't think there are enough users that want it to get this on the feature backlog.
Many people ridicule those of us that prefer BF tuning. Similar to those that think 60 cycle hum is a desirable thing to sound authentic. "If you need a fancy tuner you're not a real guitarist." kind of stuff. ?

Another vote for a boost pedal in front of the KPA to let the vintage pups drive the amp the same.
I do have some performance banks that are set up for Strat positions 2 and 4 that always need more volume to sound great.
